A list of puns related to "Standard Diving Dress"
just got one of these. because i havent tinkered with the bridge yet idk the capabilities of these. are they good for diving? iβm not talking about crazy dives and pulls like on a FR, just maybe a couple of dives before i get a chance to tune again. so far light use is fine but one good dive sends it out of tune, wondering if this is just the limit or can be addressed.
I recently did my first couple of wreck dives in Paphos, Cyprus and I had some questions about exposure standards when penetrating wrecks. For exposure, I was given a 5mm half-suit and 3mm booties, which were fine in terms of the water temperature, however I felt exposed in terms of penetrating the wreck. We were well briefed on the dive plan, however penetrating the wreck was incredibly tight, to the point even with perfect buoyancy you could only flick your ankles to kick otherwise you would clip the sides of the doorways. The other diver who was given a halfsuit and myself both received scratches on the backs of our legs from the rusted sides of the wreck. I also got a "splinter" of metal in my hand when reaching for my torch and rubbing against the wall.
Is this a mistake in exposure protection on behalf of the dive shop, or just poor execution of myself and the other diver?
Thanks for your input and happy diving!
my studio has a dress code for no crop tops. Iβm not sure if this rule is at everyoneβs studioβ¦ our rude studio manager gets upset and calls me out about the dress code when Iβm not even showing ONE INCH of skin from a crop top with super high waisted long leggingsβ¦ crop tops show less skin than wearing shorts. do you believe this is a double standard & this rule should be changed? crop tops are a normal workout attire nowβ¦ itβs like telling someone they shouldnβt wear shorts above their mid thighs. We are all adults & this studio dress code seems childish like Iβm in school. Thoughts??
We all love and appreciate the standard sports and dress watches out there. From Rolex, Tudor, IWC, Omega, etc., they all make great, gorgeous watches. But after a while, they all tend to feel pretty similar... and personally it has left me with a new appreciation for watches that are a bit different, especially those that can remain (relatively) affordable.
So I ask you r/Watches: What are some of your favorite more interesting watches?
Some of my favorites:
I kind of want to dress somewhat flamboyantly but not something obvious to everyone, and I don't have any ideas on how I could do it.
I know lots of guys that have been called out by faculty for both hair and beards... I am just curious how many females have been called out by faculty/testing center/library/gym/etc. for similar things relating to the dress and grooming standards. I personally haven't heard any first-hand stories of this, so I am interested in how often it actually occurs.
Here are the female standards for reference ( Dress and Grooming Standards (byu.edu) ):
"A clean and well-cared-for appearance should be maintained. Clothing is inappropriate when it is sleeveless, strapless, backless, or revealing; has slits above the knee; or is form fitting. Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be knee-length or longer. Hairstyles should be clean and neat, avoiding extremes in styles or colors. Excessive ear piercing (more than one per ear) and all other body piercing are not acceptable. Shoes should be worn in all public campus areas."
Share experiences if you have them.
So, I teach at an urban public school on north east Ohio. We got an email from our union president that admin is going to be using Professional Dress as a part of our evaluations starting in January, because of the OTES 2.0 evaluation tools.
Our union does NOT have a dress code, and Iβm curious what other teachers have and experience. Iβm a little pissed.
Are you a banker who hates wearing a suit? Someone who wishes all hoodies and tracksuits should be banned?
Curious how you feel about clothing both in professional and personal environments.
I took advantage of the bundle sale and bought three Geneva dresses: the classic, the v-neck, and the long sleeved. Usually they are $135 each, but I got three for $140 on sale.
Honestly, I am unimpressed. The fit is a little strange on the long sleeveβthe sleeves are super baggy. That I can fix on my own and wouldnβt alone be a huge issue, but the other two with the short sleeves have this sort of cap/slit sleeve that shows from my armpit to about four inches below, completely exposing my bra. I could not wear these to work without a cardigan of some sort. The fabric quality is also unimpressive; they are super thin. I am going to keep and make a few alterations to them, but would absolutely not buy from them again. If I had spent $135 on this dress I would send it back for sure.
I fly fairly frequently for work (pre-COVID) and to see family. The state of dress and hygiene of some passengers is quite frankly disgusting. Even as I type this I that know some people will interpret it as elitist or snobby, but I think it's a matter of common decency. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask people to show some basic hygiene if you are going to be in very close quarters to others. And I get that sometimes you're late for an early morning flight and don't have time to shower (it's definitely happened to me) but at least throw on some deodorant, brush your teeth, and put on real, clean clothes for the day.
On the dress code front - I don't mean that people need to be dressed in business attire to fly. I get that airlines cram us in and you want to be dressed comfortably, but there's a balance. You shouldn't be allowed to wear the pajamas you slept it (back to the hygiene issue) or the filthiest clothes you own. Just dress like you have some level of self respect. Maybe ask: "would I be embarrassed if I wore this and my boss/coworker saw me in this?" Or use sone other metric - whatever works for people. And I know there's been a lot of debate recently about clothing that's too revealing, but again there's gotta be some common sense here. It's like that quote about not knowing the definition of pornography, but knowing it when you see it.
A lot of people would argue that they paid a lot for their ticket and should be able to present themselves however they like BUT everyone in very close quarters to you also paid for their ticket. Flying is not a fun experience for anyone, but some simple measures could make it just a tad less miserable.
Composed and sent from the airport.
All the time, people complain about how girls are getting the short end of the stick. However, if you actually think about dress codes, girls generally have less restrictive rules than boys. Boys also aren't allowed to wear shirts that show their shoulders or short shorts. The rules are literally the same for both sexes. I don't understand what all the complaining is about. Girls are mad they don't get special treatment.
I personally support stricter dress codes in general (button-up shirt tucked-in required, etc.)
Edit: This is mostly about high school dress codes.
Guess it was more of an unpopular opinion than I thought.
Hands in pockets, walking and eating, clear earring retainers.. How long does it usually take after the "expected" republishing for it to actually happen?
Selling 4 brand new Bonobos dress shirts I purchased during their latest sale. They are final sale so I cannot return them. Looking for $35 per shirt.

I am thinking about a situation where you get to know another couple or family (for instance) at a nudist resort and decide to hang out together outside of the resort.
I am curious if anyone has any insight or experience with this that they could share. If you are usually nude at home, and your guests are also nudists, would it be appropriate to be nude when they arrive? Would it be considered courteous to be dressed or would the average nudist just expect other nudists to be nude at home?
If you are invited to another nudist's home, and they are nude when you arrive, is it common to wait for the hosts to invite the guests to undress or is it just generally assumed that they are free to do so?
I would appreciate a little help with some nudist etiquette.
It scares the hell out of their dogs.
We aren't total newbies, but it's intimidating. We went to the store today to look at potential patterns and fabrics to see if it was even feasible. Welp, we found a pattern we liked, and guess what? Simplicity patterns we're on sale, so the $20 pattern was $2. then I found a vwil lace that has lots of potential for layering and appliques in the clearance section. 4 1/3 yd for $39 on fabric originally priced at $30/yd. Couldn't leave it. So instead of rough planning to decide if my goals are doable, we have a pattern, some lace fabric, and several chiffons we're watching for sales.
Our pattern is pictured here. We'll be extending the back with another pattern to create a very small train. We will also be adding at least 2-3 layers of chiffon over the base skirt while skipping the floofy corners from the pink version. There may be an added under skirt to increase volume just a bit, though we won't decide that until after we see what multiple layers of chiffon do to the structure.
I'm 2/3sof the way through a 60lb weight loss progress. So we have to delay cutting and sizing for a few months while I finish losing weight and stabilize. We don't want to make it the wrong fit.
We did make my sister's non traditional lace over linen wedding dress, so we've done boning and corseting, as well as hand appliqued lace. Her dress combined 2 patterns and had custom sleeves. I've both hemmed chiffon and overlayed it on a satin dress by deconstructing a thrift store dress and pinning it into layers/folds. So we've done most of the different techniques. Just applying them differently.
Still nervous though. Hope I don't blow it.
As Iβm watching a few days later than most of you.. does anyone have any tips on how I can re-build my life after what I have just witnessed? Will the images ever go away?
Thank you in advance.
