A list of puns related to "Social Conflict"
Hello there, I'm back again with more questions.
How does social conflict work in V5? I understand that you can run it like a sort of combat, with damage dealt to willpower. But I'm not sure on what a scene like that would look like. And, if possible, I'd like to understand the design intention behind that, or put more clearly, what's the intended purpose for social conflict mechanics.
Thank you for the attention.
Most of the time they seem to feed each other. I like being alone and I hate social situations so it's easier for me to just stay home, by myself and do hobbies that are solitary.
I find small talk pointless and speaking to people, wondering what they're thinking or if they're judging me, then going over that conversation in my head is mentally draining so I avoid it.
This is where my conflict is. If I'm with a co worker or something like that and there is a silence from the pointless drivel, you'd think I would relish it, but all I do is wonder whether they think I'm boring, miserable or just don't like them. I feel like I have to speak but I don't want to. Doesn't make sense to me.
The fact that humanity is being changed so negatively by social media is strange. The constant hate and discourse you see on a daily basis on places like Twitter or Reddit seems like itll never end. Would this only happen with humans? Like if dogs had Instagram, would a dog see a dog eating delicious bacon and then look down at his kibble like "I wish I had that bacon" and then inadvertently start hating rich and popular dogs and find other dogs like him and create a group dedicated to hating those rich dogs? Why are we the way we are?

In 1982, the NCERT, under instructions from the Ministry of Education, passed guidelines to revise history textbooks radically. This was to promote social cohesion and national integration. Some like abandoning reference of ancient, medieval, and modern history as Hindu, Muslim, and British periods respectively or dropping βAryanβ as a racial category are good. Surprisingly, the guidelines continue with the Aryan invasion theory.
The rest of the recommendations are with the twin purpose of decimating Hindu heritage and whitewashing Islamic destruction. There is a warning against the use of myths as history aiming at the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and the entire corpus of Purana literature. These represent the crux of Indian civilization and represent the strongest points to unite the country into a single Bharatvarsha. Another recommendation is to forbid over-glorification of the countryβs past. Specifically, the Gupta Age can no longer be the βgolden period of Hinduismβ, a period where Hindu spirituality, art, literature, science, and philosophy attained a peak.
For medieval history, a recommendation that Muslim rulers are not βforeignersβ except for βearly invaders who did not settle hereβ opens a pandoraβs box of contradictions. The earliest Muslim invaders were the Arabs occupying Sindh and Multan in the early 8th century. Later, the Turks ousted them, who in the second wave occupied Afghanistan and large areas of Punjab starting 963 CE*. Mohammed Ghuri* in 1186 CE overthrew them and led the third wave of Muslim invaders occupying Haryana and parts of UP by 1194-95 CE. His generals had conquered Bihar, Bengal, and parts of Bundelkhand by the time of his assassination in 1206 CE. Finally, the Shamsi dynasty established at Delhi in 1210 CE followed by other several Muslim dynasties.
1206 or 1210 CE is the decisive time when Muslim rulers settled in Delhi and became βnativesβ from foreigners. βHereβ implies only the area of India after the Partition; the present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan become thus βforeignβ lands from the second decade of the 8th century onwards! Maybe even The Raid but that's going almost too far. The building is important.
Snowpiercer is a good example in regards of social class. But it's a train instead of a building.
Thanks in advanced!
Hello! I am conducting my dissertation research exploring how teenagers think about social situations involving conflicts and aggression. This research study involves a 3-5 min online survey and a paid interview around 45-60 min, if invited. Participants can choose to only participate in the survey and not the interview. I am seeking for participants ages 13-17. Parents will need to first provide permission for your child to participate. Then, a link to the survey will be sent to your childβs email address that you provided in the permission form.
Compensation will be offered in the form of cash, Venmo/Zelle, and Amazon gift cards depending on the participantsβ choice. Participants will be entered into a drawing of one of the four $50 compensations after completing the survey. Individuals who are selected to participate in the interview will receive $10 immediately after the interview.Β Please visit the following link for more information
I sincerely appreciate your time and assistance to help me finish my study and get my degree!
Someone tell me if I'm over simplifying the situation or I'm not understanding the full circumstances thoroughly, but I was never convinced of the dire social problems and conflicts between Pitover and Zaun.
The biggest problem in Zaun for Pitover is the crime lords. Pitover doesn't have enough enforcers to instill law and order in Zaun, and the ones they do have down there, they may be corrupted. So for years the enforcers strike a convenient deal with the crime lords: If the crime lords can keep the chaos and crime out of Pitover, the enforcers will look the other way and let the crime lords run things in Zaun (Similar to how Japan dealt with the Yakuzas in the 80-90s). Ep4 introduced Jace's Hexgate technology which made Pitover filthy rich facilitating international trade, and Zaun also benefited from the increased trade. The crime syndicates in Zaun are still running things but are now emboldened by their new found wealth. For Pitover, the problem of Zaun is still the crime lords, more specifically, they haven't found a consistent long term solution of tackling crime in Zaun so it doesn't spill over to Pitover.
For me the solution to tackling crime in Zaun is simple: Improve the living standard and livelihood of Zaunites. The crime lords have power because the people in the undercity support them. Crime lords like Silco provides employment for people in Zaun, which seems to lack opportunities. Provide people with legal, safe, steady jobs, and the people will cease to support the crime lords. Increased employment has also shown to reduce drug addiction in the real world, so providing jobs also helps to tackle the Shimmer addiction problem in Zaun.
If I'm a Pitover councilor I'd first propose improving trade relations with Zaun, allow Zaunite traders to sell their legal goods in Pitover, and Pitover can act as middlemen to sell those Zaunite goods internatioally through the Hexgates and profit. Employ Zaunites as affordable labor in Pitover factories and workshops.
Both of these allow Zaunites to find steady, safe, legal employment, and with steady income, they can improve their lives instead of relying on dangerous, illegal activities.
Next is implement a system where bright Zaunite children can go topside and study in Pitover schools, like Viktor. Gradually assimilate Zaunites into Pitover culture and society. When the lives of ordinary Zaunites improve and they recognize it's mostly thanks to Pitover, they would cease support of the Zaunite crime

How did you structure? One of my players likes the idea, but is concerned it could result in irreparably disengaging the characters from one another.
I'm currently studying the history of Arab-Israeli conflicts, but I'm struggling to find any sources that could be used to approach the events of 1948 from the perspective of a normal Palestinian or Israeli. Can anyone recommend anything that isn't just focused on political history?
People smell humility and kindness from miles always like hyenas and just can't resist socially "dominating" you. They are like vultures. Even the ones who pretend to be nice in the beginning eventually always end up being assholes to me. Every. Single. Time.
I thought it's me and tried being even nicer but it didn't help. Somewhere I saw this quote "If you put a doormat in front of any door, it's still going to be a doormat" and I resonated so much with this quote. It's completely true.
This realisation made me hate people. I don't want to participate in society when it's all one big social status circlejerk.
My 14 year old little sister keeps causing drama with the βpopular crowdβ at school because sheβs convinced that they give her dirty looks and talk bad about herπ€¦π»ββοΈ the school has done multiple βinvestigationsβ and confirmed that thatβs not true. Sheβs resorted to bullying these kids βbackβ by spreading rumors about THEM. It sounds like normal high school drama butβ¦ I canβt help but wonder if itβs because our household is full of conflicts. Our parents fight with each other, grandparents fight with each other, and our mom butts heads with my other middle sister (older than the 14 year old, but younger than me by 18 months). My mom yells at all three of us unexpectedly when we donβt know to do chores without being asked, since she expects us to pay attention to details (but most of us donβt notice when the room is dusty) - sheβs called my little sister names for being late to dinner or for forgetting something, such as βyouβre not a baby anymoreβ.
Based on what everyone else says about these kids, theyβre popular because they are super friendly and are socially savvy with high EQ, not because theyβre mean or passive aggressive. People gravitate towards them because they know how to manage their emotions in social situations. For all we know, my sister may have mistaken a normal interaction as a threat that triggered hyper-vigilance.
