it was rewarding because i could visibly see her internal groan at dumb dad joke, but then also self-horror that she was so quick to get the joke... win-win-win!!

He said it was because we weren’t anywhere near the bank.

I told her, "all you need to do is break a sand 5."

I told her that she's rich. A whole sand dollar is worth 100 sand cents.

(wife shakes head in utter disappointment)

This one happened a while ago, while I was at the beach with friends. While we were there, I picked up a broken Sand Dollar (about a third of it) and said:

Me: "Hey, look what I found!"

Friendo: "It's a Sand Dollar."

Me: "Actually, I think it's more of a sand quarter."

Me: I wonder where sand dollars come from.

Her: Something dead.

Me: Dead Sea presidents.

Because they're shellfish.

With current-sea!

So my wife is 3 months pregnant and hit me with this. Went out this morning and was excited that I found a couple of sand dollars. Got back to the hotel and two had broke in my pocket. She quickly responded with, well at least you have some sand change.

My sister found a bunch of pieces to a sand dollar. She brought them inside on a paper plate.

My dad walked by and said, "looks like someone got change for a dollar!"

Laughed hysterically, then walked away.
