A list of puns related to "Safety Factor"
What Small to Mid-Size SUV should I buy?
Most important factors:
Also, I will be purchasing (Driving long road trips is tough with a lease)
Is there a standard out there or a general rule of thumb to support decreasing safety factors?
Example: Decreasing a shackleβs safety factor from 5 to 2 for a survival load case.
the Kentucky ballistics accident has me wondering, what kind of safety factors are the pressure bearing parts of guns built with?
with slings and lifting apparatuses they usually start round x10 of working load.
seems like something that would be pretty important with explosions next to your face.
Hi everyone!
I'm planning to buy this rig: https://aerialsilks.eu/aerial-rig-free-standing-structure which is certified according to the website. However, when I look at the specifications I'm a bit confused : WWL = 191 kg MBS = 3.920 kg SF = 1:2.
So I understood (from earlier posts on reddit) that the SF should be at least 1:10 for as safe as possible training, however here it is 1:2. But if you would calculate the SF yourself, it would be 1:20 (3920/191), or am I doing something wrong?
I've emailed the website, asking whether they made a typo and they responded with : oh sorry the SF should be 1.2 (instead of 1:2), which is even less clear to me.
What do you think? Is my flow of thoughts correct or should I avoid this rig?
Thanks!
Thank you. It appears none of the covid vaccines actually differentiated type 1 and type 2 and we have no idea how many type 1 are included in outcome and safety data. Informal sharing of information seems to be the only option now. Thank you for sharing. If you know of a more organized website where people are reporting for type 1, please advise. ALSO after 2d shot are your providers offering evidence-based accurate testing on immunity? Did you do anything to prepare such as intensive weeks of exercise or supplements like vitamin d and vitamin B and magnesium or any other intervention? Thank you
Inorder to complete what I started, I have to achieve these three things.
By considering a 4.8 inch tyre, how much distance should there be between the rear dropouts. I have no clue about this, especially about tolerances. I just put 164mm for now, help me in boiling it down to a reasonable value.
Bottom Bracket. Same issue, I didnot consider any tolerances. Tell me about it.
Hand calculations for verifying my design. That is to check whether my factor of safety is correct or wrong. What I have in mind is to probe stresses and displacements at different points of the hollow tubes and verify treating them as truss, or beam elements. If that's wrong, lemme know what to do.
I get that people dismiss this as a server, ping or connection issue that Riot can't fix whenever this comes up. That seems reasonable when someone shoots where you dashed from within the millisecond you dashed maybe, but in this clip where my ping was >20-30 all game I was killed a full second back where I dashed from. You can see there is no packet loss, and when I check my scoreboard earlier in the clip I trimmed this from, my ping is 23. Is this not fixable?
Let me start off by saying I am an experienced instructor, 1000 hours TT and >700 hours teaching.
In over 1 year of teaching the IFS program at SkyWarrior in Pensacola, every single student I had passed the program. All comments about my instruction were positive. All of my students finished in a timely manner.
Seems like there shouldn't be a problem, right? Enter: Chief pilot, we'll call him DD. During my time at SkyWarrior, DD ordered me to fly with his assistant chief in wind gusts so high, his assistant chief said "I have a kid! FUCK THIS, man!" More than once, DD ordered me to fly with severe thunderstorms 10nm from the airport.
Any other Chief Pilot, of course, may have a conversation with their employee and discuss their disagreement. Not at SkyWarrior, though! I opened up AIM 7-1-28 and 7-1-29 to talk about why it isn't safe to fly in such close proximity to severe thunderstorms, but DD called me disrespectful for even insinuating that he could be wrong. He refused to even look at the AIM.
This was not the first time DD and I had this conversation. In DD's eyes, other instructors ignoring the guidelines was evidence that my decisions were "willy-nilly." Are 2 active convective SIGMETs for T-storms above FL450 10nm from the airport willy-nilly?
For my failure to follow DD's "guidance," I was terminated from SkyWarrior.
This part is just my opinion: I think DD has a major hazardous attitude problem. Macho, Invulnerability, Anti-authority. The owners of SkyWarrior are fantastic people, and I have only enjoyed working for them. It's such a shame to see one alpha-male with a power complex hold so much influence over employees. I wish them all well, and truly hope DD can reflect on his macho attitude. If he doesn't, one day, maybe not today or tomorrow, but one day, he may kill someone.
edit: a word
When anyone decides to retire early, the first big question that comes up in the find is how much corpus will I need to retire? We do some research, use multiple online calculators, discuss with friends and families, consult financial planner. After all due efforts, when we get a fair idea of how much we may need, a part of our mind still remain skeptical and we add some more in the final corpus amount just to be more conservative and comfort purpose. This happens either during the corpus requirement calculation or just before pulling the final plug or in some cases, both the times.
So what is your upper limit for that 'little more' or conservative factor of safety you add over and above your final corpus when you decide the corpus amount for early retirement? I start with mine it's 15% of the total corpus amount
I'm looking to do these e-courses so I can add to my cv. Does anyone have any trusted recommended website I can look into? I found routeaviation with a reasonable price, has anyone heard of them?
