The Russian civil war is way too hard
Just to start off I know I'm not the greatest at HOI4, but I'm also not an inept senile grandpa. I've tried the civil war for the Tsar at least 5 or more times, and it's way too hard. You never have enough troops, and the U.S.S.R seems to have every last person in the world in their army. I've tried plenty of methods and non seem to really work, I've tried taking as much land as possible then starting the civil war, and I've tried just snaking to Moscow then starting it, but again you never have enough troops to even consider doing good encirclements. If I snake it I just keep getting encircled at every conceivable point, so I never even get a chance to hold the line.
Also, I am looking for help on this I know a lot of this was over-exaggeration, but this is really hard for me, so if anyone has tips I would gladly accept them.

What if the Czechoslovak Legion joined the White Army in the Russian civil war?
This video by CallMeEzekiel explains the story of the Legion.
To those unwilling to watch it, the Russians had an army of Czechs and Slovaks that joined the Russian army after being captured, primarily so that if Austria-Hungary lost, they'd have a chance to negotiate for their nations independence. The problem was that the Bolsheviks took power, and planned to leave the war. If they left, they'd have nothing to show allied leaders, so they tried to plan. The one they went with was retreating to the Trans-Siberian railroad, capturing trains, getting to Vladivostok, and escaping to Allied territory.
However, one possible plan that was discussed was joining the White Russian Army, and making a march on Moscow. Many historians believe that due to their years of experience fighting on both sides of WW1, and being the most supplied rebels in the area, they likely would have won.
But what if they decided to actually do that?

Very specific question question about Greeks during Russian Civil War
Hey guys. My Greek ancestorβs lived in the city of Kharkiv during the Russian Civil War, and Iβm curious about how they survived such a horrific period.
Would there be any information ether in Greek or Russian about Ukrainian/Russian Greeks during this time period of the Civil War? For example what sides Greek primarily fought with, or if they supported the reds or whites?
Thanks.

Weird and random history question, where there any Irish who fought in the Russian Civil war?
I'm currently really interested in the russian civil war... admittedly because of the new HOI4 update which I obtained entirely by legitimate means but I was wondering if there where any irishmen who fought in the russian civil war? I'm ... taking an educated gamble that there's a few who where communist and fought on the side of the red army, but was there anyone, perhaps in the entente's expeditionary forces, or evem on their own free will, who fought for the white army?

Was There Any Way to Avoid the Russian Civil War?
So Nicholas basically lost his legitimacy after the events of Bloody Sunday. The whole country turned against him. He avoided being deposed by the skin of his teeth. Then when WWI broke out and he bungled that it basically made it inevitable that he would be overthrown.
But once he was overthrown the whole premise for legitimacy rested in the idea Constituent Assembly. The Provisional Government had no real legitimacy until that happened, but they kept putting it off and putting it off while also continuing the super unpopular war. This undermined whatever good faith they had earned from being Not Nicholas.
Meanwhile all these Soviets all around the empire are forming their own local centers of legitimacy based on the organizing of thousands of soldiers and workers. This source of legitimacy was completely separate from the Constituent Assembly and they were bound to come into conflict. The Bolsheviks were just the most radical edge of that conflict, the faction in the Soviet pointing out that nobody had a claim to legitimacy but the Soviets were the closest thing.
It just feels like the minute Nicholas stepped down a civil war of some kind was going to happen no matter what. They were in the middle of a giant war that was tearing the country apart and nobody had a real legitimate claim to step into the vacuum. The Soviets were the closest thing but there was no way the rightward elements of Russian society (and especially the military) would ever accept them.

during the second russian civil war, countries who rise up against the USSR like georgia or ukraine should be led by nationalists
in the vanilla hoi4,all the countries rising up are democratic and led by default leaders. this should,in my opinion be changed.
for example, ukraine should be lead by the OUN and stepan bandera (his portrait is already in the game) who was the most famous ukrainian nationalist and independantist during the 30's/40's

There are many cases of European observers and commenting on the conduct of American soldiers during the Civil War (often not favorably). How common were such observers during the Russian Civil War? Were any lessons learned?
I seem to remember at least Prussian officers observing that the conduct of American soldiers, especially the stage of destroying the retreating enemy with relentless pursuit was lacking.
Were there such observations during the Russian Civil War? Or was it just way too chaotic/ Red forces too anganostic to outsiders? I'm especially curious if any observations were incorporated into planning for Operation Barbarossa.
