105 Regiment Royal Artillery - Reserves
Hi. Im at the stage of my application for a Reserve Solider to pick the Unit i would like to join (I live in Belfast). Is anyone here part of 105 Regiment Royal Artillery or know much about this Reserve Unit? Is it interesting enough? Second (kind of) unrelated question....is it unheard of for a solider to become an Officer a few years down the line? Thanks

Does any of you know in which battles the 479th Siege Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery took part during WW1?
I own two British medals which belonged to a member of that battery and I would like to find out more about it. Thanks in advance for your help.

I was looking into the different Royal Engineer Units near me in Northern Ireland and my local Unit is 591 Field Squadron. Can anyone tell me why its referred to as Antrim Artillery even though its an Engineering Unit?

Royal Artillery in Burma during WW2
Iβm researching my family tree and I know that my Grandad was in the RA from 1939 and came back to the UK in 45. We have his service number, but there arenβt any records showing his time there. We have photographs that prove he was there. Could anyone give advice how I might move forward?
