A list of puns related to "Psychological Research"
here are some quotations from over 12 pieces of research i love quoting to misogynists (and you can use, too):
"Men and Women: No Big Difference: Studies show that one's sex has little or no bearing on personality, cognition and leadership."
"PhD, of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, discovered that males and females from childhood to adulthood are more alike than different on most psychological variables"
"Media depictions of men and women as fundamentally "different" appear to perpetuate misconceptions....colleagues hope that people use the consistent evidence that males and females are basically alike to alleviate misunderstanding and correct unequal treatment."

As Iβve been going on tiktok Iβve,,,kinda realized it has a slightly disturbing trend of normalizing the harassment and psychoanalysis of regular people. My first thought of this was the dreaded Couch Guy.
I cannot imagine being in a place where people are comparing my boyfriend to convicted murderers and sliding notes under his door, or even being mocked by large advertisements from megacorporations. So,,,what are the effects of this weird and toxic sleuthing culture? Is there anything we can reasonably do about it?
Hey all!
I already have done my fair share of research on what I had to know before my first trip. Especially when it comes to psychological disorders. I have been psychotic and have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. I was well aware of the risks etc because of hours upon hours of my own research.
Yet I took LSD a few times. I found there is a therapeutic value in it, for myself at least, especially when it comes to locating the root of where the disorders come from since they are not anywhere to be found in the genetics of my family tree.
I was just wondering, can anyone here maybe give me a few links to any studies and more advanced researching on this topic? I just want to make sure I don't miss out on anything before I decide to dive a bit deeper into the unknown.
Don't say I'm stupid because I took it even though I know the risks etc. I'm not here for that crap. I am just looking to advance my knowledge on the psychological impact it may have if one is disposed to said disorders.
Sorry for the formatting, I'm on the phone :)
I mean as a career, I wany to study and work in academia. I'll probably suck at the teaching part if it's in person ,but I think I would kick ass if I was given a run in doing research. Has anyone else go into any relating career due to CPTSD?
EDIT: data collection is closed. Thanks to all participants.
Researcher here. Iβm working on a project at the U of Amsterdam (in the Netherlands) about psychological abuse, childhood adversity, and traumatic experiences. Itβs a topic close to home and is important for exploring why emotional abuse does not meet DSM diagnostic criteria for PTSD when it has been linked to symptoms. If youβre interested in helping bridge this gap in research, me and my team would greatly appreciate it if you could take 20-30min to complete a survey on the topic. We hope this can help uncover some clinically relevant treatment targets for people that have suffered prolonged emotional abuse.
Data is double-masked and completely anonymous per GDPR, and we don't ask for details of adverse experiences. You can enter a raffle (also not linked to any of your survey responses) for a 50euro voucher as a reward. Here's the link - thank you in advance!
Note: a trigger warning on past experiences accompanies these survey questions; do avoid, take a break, or stop the survey if you're experiencing distress. If you experience any negative consequences afterward, please contact a local mental or general health practitioner in your area for advice.

Hi, I am conducting a short online study as part of my dissertation, where I am investigating in peopleβs experiences and perception of sexual fantasising, and the effects this may have on sexual behaviour. The study should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and participation is voluntary and anonymous. All data provided will remain confidential. Due to the study being on a highly sensitive subject (sex) participants are required to be aged 18+ to participate in this study and have had some previous sexual experience. Therefore, if such topics are likely to cause you distress, it is advised that you do not participate.

I graduated Virginia Tech with a dual degree in psychology and clinical neuroscience. My last 2 years of college I had a 3.67, and my psychology GPA overall was a 3.87. I unfortunately had some bad years in physics, and I graduated with a 2.94 cumulative. I have done research for about 2 years, I am cited as a junior author on a paper, and a junior author on a separate conference poster. I can code, in languages relevant to/taught in the program. I have experience working with an running participants through neuro imaging equipment. I have 6 months worth of clinical experience at a suicide hotline, and my current job is working as a calculus tutor to ADHD high schoolers. Iβm in the process of applying for a grant to fund tutoring for our low income students. I test in the GRE in the 96th percentile on verbal, and Iβm testing in the 75th on math, but Iβm working on raising my score. Do I have a chance? If not, what programs are more realistic? Oh and Iβm not sure if this is relevant, but I am a Puerto Rican woman.
