A list of puns related to "Pstn"
I have had a handful of users today come to me saying they are getting calls that are not ringing or showing up on the desk phones (Teams Phones). The desktop app is not ringing but there is a pop-up (Toast) that shows up. Not sure what is happening, I have opened a ticket, but not sure what would cause it to not ring on the phone.
Just migrated to teams voice and have a few users in our WHSE that use an ATA with a cordless phone. I'd like for users in the office to be able to dial them by name. The issue is that teams will try and call them through Teams Direct Routing instead of the PSTN. Can this be changed?
I'm trying to set up call recording for my org. From what I can tell, everything is provisioned and configured correctly. My test user is assigned to a meeting policy that permits recording. The feature is available to him when he uses the Teams web client, but not in the Windows client. I've tested with the public preview and developer previews enabled and disabled. Teams cache folder was deleted. I also waited a week through the holidays in case it was some provisioning lag, but the issue persists. I have a ticket open with MS but they they are of course very slow to respond. Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything stupid. Has anyone successfully deployed this feature already?

... keep reading on reddit β‘I would like to divest from the PSTN and just use my email address as SIP URI. I'm pretty sure I can do this with 3CX, but their licensing scheme is so weird, I would prefer something else. The would mean that the only way of connect me would be to use name@domain.tld. No more telemarkets, FCC Taxes, arbitrary numbers. etc.
It would be supercool if it had some sort of WebRTC component that would let me publish a click to call URL that would ring my mobile device.
Does this even seem feasible? Would it be better to just use a service like JAMI or Keybase as my primary contact?
I'm curious how many people have gone this route (Teams PSTN Direct Routing) and how you manage DID usage. I have a gap currently in how this gets handled and how unused numbers get "blackholed". The easy answer so far has been to maintain a master list of DIDs in CSV format and just use PS to import that sheet, find a number where the user field is blank, and offer that up/offer up the first 3 unassigned users.
Does anyone have any experience/history with this, how did you approach it, does your DR partner better manage DIDs for you?
Hi,
This is the first time I want to port away numbers from Teams (and not the other way around, into Teams).
The numbers are numbers I requested trough the admin portal, and are thus Microsoft numbers. I've read on a forum that it is impossible to port away Microsoft requested numbers? Do I not own these numbers myself? Are they still in posession of Microsoft?
Does anyone here have experiences with porting out numbers from Teams to an other provider?
Regards
I'm a Software Engineer in a very niche market, one that values PSTN substantially over VoIP. I understand that PSTN is chosen if the call is made to a 2G/3G/PSTN device, however I would like to make a PSTN phone call between two 4G devices. Is this possible?
Ultimately, I would love a one-stop shop for practical knowledge on cell phone networks- as if the OSI model was copy and pasted to cell towers. If anyone has such a resource, I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers,
Hey all,
Anyone have a reliable way of blocking spoofed calls to Teams numbers? We have a client with ported numbers who is getting a ton of spam calls on them. So far as I can tell MSFT only allows individual number-by-number blocking, or perhaps bulk individual number blocking, but no automatic "likely spam" blocking or similar.
Iβve had a ticket open with Microsoft about this for over 2 weeks now and not getting anywhere so I just wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Iβm in the middle of a migration of users to Teams phone system and a random assortment of users have the display name showing as - - in the PSTN usage report. Clicking on the dashes links to the correct users page where I can see all the details about their calls so the GUIDs are all correct. Comparing various Powershell outputs shows no difference between working and non-working users. It doesnβt impact their calling experience at all, it just doesnβt show the name properly in the reports.
Has anyone else seen this? Microsoft just keep sending emails every day saying theyβre working on it and asking for updated Teams diagnostic logs which I have been providing.
Does anyone know when this feature is actually going to be released? I`ve been following their roadmap closely and saw it "Launched" on June 18th but it's still not available and there is nothing online anywhere about it.
This is what their roadmap says:
Microsoft Teams: 1:1 PSTN Call Recording
Record 1:1 PSTN Calls.
Release: Launched June (CY2021)
Microsoft Teams, Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), General Availability
One of my client has a POS machine ( ingenico card machine) using which they charge their customers for card payments. They are moving from PSTN to Ethernet (internet based) on this card reader. They use a network firewall and this POS machine is going to be placed in their LAN. Is there any recommendation that should be done to secure this POS. This is quite new to me and hence looking forward to your thoughts.
Hi,
We deploy direct routing to MS Teams account. We are able to call out from MS Teams, and dial out from scheduled meetings. However, it does 't work on ad-hoc meetings.
Is there any setting that we should enable?
Thank you.
NB
I am new to CUCM and telephony in general. I'm working more in it for my org from the front end back, and recently an issue came up where the Caller ID is incorrect for a DID line. It's correct internal, but once it hits the PSTN seems to be wrong. We bought these blocks form ATT but their business services is giving pushback saying they just copy what's on our side when it goes out. There's no way anything internal on our side has the ID that is going out. Can anyone give me some tips on locations and settings to verify just to be sure this isn't us, so I can feel I've done due dilligence before going back to the carrier on this one? The number is correct on the caller ID, it's just the label. The directory number is using the correct external mask number, and the partition looks like it is set to use external numbers. Any help appreciated, just trying to learn here, thanks!
Well here's an odd one. Most users are fine but we're getting this recording about "Windows Vista" when trying to dial out from 2 users. All settings are the same, we've tried reapplying licensing, etc.
The recording just talks about "Windows Vista Updates" that sounds like an excerpt from some sort of webinar, maybe used in testing as an error recording or something... it just repeats over and over again, including the key presses!

We've had a case open with Microsoft for a couple weeks, they can't figure it out... any ideas?
Is there a way to view PSTN usage reports in Teams Admin Center for calls that come in to a call queue and which user took the call? I am very new to Teams Administration and found this article about using Power BI desktop to view more detailed reports but I would rather not go outside the Admin Center if I don't have to just yet. I can see when calls come in to the queue in Analytics and Reports but it doesn't show which user took the call.
Hello!
This might be a longshot but I thought I'd try. Is/has anyone else run into the case where an outbound call exits the system correctly (signaling and media is correct - inserting the actual number dialed from) but arrives on the far side as 'unknown caller' and possibly be screened by a voice assistant (like google uses) even though it arrived in e.164 format?
Trying to track down a needle in a haystack,
Sudain
Edit for others who may have the same issue in the future: I think I solved this by correctly formatting the source URI into e.164 format even though a shorter format established the call and media correctly.
I have been getting reports that most PSTN phone calls have around a 1 second delay. This causes issues with people talking over each other and I am curious if others have this? We use direct routing with Nuwave and the call dashboard shows the calls are good.
Teams to Teams calls have zero delay from what I understand. I also have not tried Teams desk phones yet to see if the issue is still there but curious if others have experienced this?
I have a self hosted 3cx pbx and an HT813 ATA I have set the ATA to send calls to the pbx digital receptionist and it works fine, but I can't make any outbound calls. Anyone has an idea hot to fix this or bypass the issue.
Does anyone else experience a delay before audio is established when a call connects? We are using MS Calling Plans, no call queues , etc. Mainly VVX301 phones. Teams network checker shows our connections to be in the top tier for our area. This is happening in multiple locations, using various ISPs, and routers. SIP ALG turned off on all of them.
We also get robotic audio occasionally on some calls.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hello! If the text doesn't make much sense, it's because I'm using a translator. I currently have a CUCM connected via MGCP to a gateway that has the frame to call the PSTN After two companies merged, both CUCM and ASTERISK (ISSABEL) centrals were united by means of a SIP trunk and the internal calls between one and the other PBX work without problem. The current problem and the reason why I consult them is that they need the users of the asterisk central to be able to call the PSTN but through the CUCM central and not directly as would be the ideal. Is it possible to do this, configure a route pattern in the CUCM that allows calls to exit from asterisk? Thanks a lot
