A list of puns related to "Prison Officer"
For further context on how Chet fucked up astronomically and why EDP might not go to jail, see Post #1, and Post #2.
Disclaimer: Idk if CC Unit would be affected in the same way. I haven't seen his perspective yet.
As I explained before, Chet Goldstein's operation can and quite possibly will go down as defamation of character under at least two of the given criteria in California. And additionally, leaking his nudes is revenge porn. But it doesn't stop there!
Being that Chet initiated the interaction, and coerced Bryant into continuing the interaction numerous times after Bryant verbally and literally backed out of it (literally explained in full detail during their own transcript video), he could be fined up to $25,000 in the state of California for coercion.
According to California's criteria for defamation of character, Chet fits at least two counts:
> 1 - That the statement was made (βpublishedβ) to a third party
> 2 - That the person who made the statement did so negligently, recklessly or intentionally
Did he publish statements to a third party with the intent to defame EDP? Yes, Instagram and YouTube (plus the stark contrast between CC Unit scolding him for being a pedophile, vs. Chet making fat jokes as if it was funny). And was he negligent, reckless, or intentional? Yes, yes, and yes.
As for revenge porn, he could be punished with up to 6 months in prison for leaking Bryant's nudes. Given the defamation, coupled with his celebrity status, that could be even worse? He made several jokes about his pp, so that could show intent (?)
Plus, vigilantism has no legal standing. As someone else said, this is probably why police work should be left to the police. I don't have any confidence that the police would catch predators as frequently as vigilantes, but at least they'd be able to still do something in the event that an investigation opens but said predator doesn't even contact an actual child ... cough cough, Sophie...
In Chet Goldstein's immeasurable incompetence, and quest for internet clout, not only has he potentially allowed a pedophile to escape harsh punishment, but he's also fucked himself in the process (and maybe his team, too).

From press release
> SANTA ANA, California β An immigration services officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services was arrested this morning in Maryland on a federal charge that alleges he obtained U.S. citizenship under a false name.
> The defendant is charged under the false name of βKarl Nwabugwu Odike Ifemembi,β but the criminal complaint in this case notes that his real name is Modestus Nwagubwu Ifemembi, originally of Nigeria. Ifemembi, 48, who previously resided in Aliso Viejo, but relocated to Rockville, Maryland, last year, has worked for USCIS for seven years. Ifemembi is charged in the complaint with one count of unlawfully procuring U.S. citizenship.
> Ifemembi made false statements on various government forms to obtain U.S. citizenship, as well as employment with USCIS, according to the affidavit in support of the complaint, which was unsealed this morning.
> Ifemembi first entered the United States in 2000 when he flew from France to Chicago with a British passport that had been issued to another person but had been altered to display Ifemembiβs photograph, according to the affidavit. While immigration officials in Chicago caught Ifemembi β who admitted his fraudulent use of the U.K. passport, the affidavit states β he ultimately was granted asylum after falsely claiming his real name was βKarlos Mourfyβ and that he was a native of Sierra Leone.
> After being granted asylum, Ifemembi attended the University of California, Berkeley, which granted him a bachelorβs degree in 2004, and then obtained J.D. from the University of Oregon, School of Law. Then, in late 2010, βKarlos Mourfyβ applied for U.S. citizenship and asked to change his name to Ifemembi β requests that were granted in May 2011. Two years later, in 2013, Ifemembi was hired by USCIS, according to the affidavit. During the investigation into Ifemembi, federal investigators traveled to Africa β including his hometown of Akuma, Nigeria β and searched his Orange County residence in 2019, obtaining evidence about his true identity, including baptism, school and financial records, the affidavit states.
> Ifemembi is scheduled to make his initial appearance this afternoon in United States District Court in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Some subreddit drama: this post is being repeatedly removed from r/boston . The mods claim that it is 'old news from 2014' even though the man died a few weeks ago. Moreover, there is no rule that says news must be recent in r/boston's set of rules.
When I politely asked the mods about this, they didn't take it well. They deleted my comments, removed my posts, and muted me on the sub.
