The recent synagogue hostage situation in Colleyville, TX and the FBI's gaslighting response is the tipping point for me that removes all doubt the FBI has again been used as a political weapon.
The FBI owes all Jewish people everywhere an apology.
This is all based on the Associated Press reporting thatΒ FBI officialsΒ said "the Texas synagogue hostage taker's demands were specifically focused on issues not connected to the Jewish community."
It was a terrorist hostage situation in a SYNAGOGUE, for Moses' sake.
How should we interpret this? It appears to me that the Church is stating in the general handbook of instructions that βlocalβ leaders should not talk politics and share their views (influence) in OR OUT of the chapel with other members.
Thoughts?
***Local leaders = Bishoprics/branch presidencies, EQ and RS presidencies, etc.
It seems like with a lot of the small communes this tends to happen.
They get "poisoned" by one influential figure, or crazy person taking advantage.
It seems like the only way to defend a society against a socially strong person with selfish/malicious intent is to have a well-trained socially-strong person with honourable intent, ie a leader. Now you end up with some other type of political structure...
Kind of like the arms-race argument for weapons.
I recently finished Never by Ken Follett and had a craving to know what the world leaders in the book would have done in the days, weeks and months following nuclear war.
There's probably nothing that perfectly meets this request but keen to hear suggestions.
I am pessimistic that the America we grew up in - with freedom, privacy, and the rights of the indiviual protected by law and practice - is gone and will never come back. With voting increasing shown to be susceptible to manipulation it seems as though we are being pushed into a corner. Is it time for another American Revolution or is it another way to turn this mess around?
