A list of puns related to "Poleax"
https://youtu.be/KWK9RGEVawQ
I heard they can have either an axe head or a hammer head as the main thing along with the spike and back spike (which I still dont understand? It doesn't look like it can ever hook)
What are the pros and cons to both? Which is better overall??
How much damage would the hammer head do as opposed to the axe head?? Stuff like that.
Below are some ^sort-of misleading statements often made about Draconic Poleax, which will be addressed individually. Some of these are much more commonly repeated by apologists (sorry, I was being salty) than others, and some are more true than others:
"This weapon being an axe version of Wing Sword/Rhomphaia would be uncreative."
"This weapon was called 'Mercenary's Battle-axe' in Japanese, not a Poleaxe, and its name should have had nothing to do with Dragons."
"This weapon makes Titania the only unit that can passive +6 quad-buff."
"This weapon makes Titania the only mixed team passive +6 triple-buffer."
"This weapon is good because it adds 4mt and refinement stats to a gem weapon which this sub undervalues."
"This weapon solidifies Titania's niche as a blue-killer."
"This weapon shows that Lyon will get a refinement and gem/raven weapons will never be refinable."
The next sections will address the individual statements and what is or is not true about them.
> This weapon being an axe version of Wing Sword/Rhomphaia would be uncreative.
We're not talking about what Draconic Poleax is, so much as what it could have been. We're only talking about the fallacy that being a color-shifted analogue to a creative prf somehow makes the new version uncreative.
If Rhomphaia had come out before Wing Sword, would people call it uncreative? ... ... ... Probably, but that's not the point. The point is calling it uncreative because it gives more flexibility in team composition, while also giving both Clair and Caeda exactly what they needed to stand out, is unreasonable.
This argument is like saying introducing Firesweep Sword+ with Soleil is uncreative because Firesweep Bow+ and Lance+ both exist. Or that Firesweep Axe and Dagger should never be added because we already have Bow, Sword and Lance versions.
Her availability as a 3-4 star does not make her too good with a Wing Sword clone, because we have Clair and Caeda in the same rarity already. Not to mention Roy, Marth, Eirika, and Raven with their outstanding prf refines. All of which are in the 3-4 star pool. In fact, all the blade tomes can be found in the 3-4 star pool, so power levels are completely out the window as an excuse.
> This weapon was called 'Mercenary's Battle-Axe' in Japanese, not a Poleaxe, and its name should have had nothing to do with Dragons.
In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, the weapons called "Poleaxes", "Blades", and "Greatlances" served
... keep reading on reddit β‘Which one is better and why? What are their pros and cons?? What are the pros and cons to having a.hammer as the main head on a pollax instead of an ax head?
Also as a side question how easily do either weapons hook things like blades, limbs, and the like???
I switched from Glaive to PA this season and start to enjoy it.
i have currently 600k Silver to spend and looking for a decent PA to play.
I am on EU2.
I am asking for the Weapon itself.
Disclaimer: I obviously don't know how IS does their balancing, or how early they start planning content. But there are a few things that make me think that Titania was intended to get an anti-horse effect on her Prf weapon.
It's a poleax. The only poleaxe in the game right now is Gerome's which has the anti-horse effect. To be fair: the Tellius games have poleax weapons that have no special effect. So this is my most flimsy evidence. EDIT: I've been corrected: it isn't called a poleax in Japan. I appreciate that the localization team pulled that from her original game though.
Nephenee got three effects on her new weapon/refine, one of which was anti-armor. I suspect that they were initially supposed to get symmetrical upgrades; both of their weapons would have the effect of their original generic one, in addition to a slayer effect. Then, both of their refines would give them an effect that makes them better at doing what they already do (support and tanking).
Titania's new Prf is a nice option for her but it's not sensational. Adding the anti-horse effect would just make her even better at killing a handful of prominent threats without changing her primary gimmick too substantially. To be clear: I'm making the case for the anti-horse effect being considered in the first place, and not the case for it being removed.
I'm not as down on Titania's Prf as everybody else but I agree that she got shafted when compared to Neph. Neph was a better unit in the first place, yet she seemingly got a more substantial upgrade than Titania. Maybe they thought that TA, anti-horse, and res tactic weren't cohesive to each other. Or that the combination was too complicated compared to Neph's relatively simple upgrades. Or maybe they thought it was OP (which I doubt honestly).
Been playing since beta. Level 58. Not sweaty. But can someone please explain to me how to use a god damn poleaxe? Does anyone main this abomination?

I know its a super short in the dark but I went on the NZXT site to but a windowed side panel they had for 24.99 and now its out of stock, and I doubt will ever come back. I was about to start my water-cooling journey but I really want to be able to see my work! if anyone has an old one or one they want to get rid of LET ME KNOW! I bet this is a shot in the dark but I figure I need to try right?
with the recent addition of being able to hold a weapon wherever you want, i've found myself dropping most weapons to purely just halfsword the bigger swords which has been so much more fun. a big problem i've had with the game is the way weight is handled by making weapons lag behind where you swing which has made combat extremely inconsistent, half-swording basically deleting that problem and making it much easier to just have fun without having to deal with jank.
A Poleaxe would not only grant us a brand new type of weapon but one with plenty of usage and that all too needed two-handed-ness. axe on the front for limb chopping, spike for stabs and impales and the hammer for bludgeoning, not to mention the spike at the bottom and the long shaft for your own protection. the sheer amount of versatility it has would make for extremely fun gameplay with that added bonus of it being two handed making it so much easier to use the way you want to.
What if you don't want to be a killer, you just want to stun people and support, is weapon dance worth using?
I'm new and I chose this class.
