>Safety: overall, pioglitazone was well tolerated. Two participants discontinued intervention due to perceived non-efficacy and one due to the inability to tolerate interim blood work. Three participants experienced mild neutropenia.
>
>Early evidence of efficacy: statistically significant improvement was observed in social withdrawal, repetitive behaviors, and externalizing behaviors as measured by the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC), Child Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS), and Repetitive Behavior ScaleβRevised (RBS-R). Forty-six percent of those enrolled were deemed to be global responders.

Anybody has any info on it's nootropic effects?
I re-started my Spiro and Pioglitazone(for IR) a week ago and I've noticed that Acanthosis Nigricans on my neck is getting worse. It improved a shit ton when I wasn't on any kind of medication for about a month because I had run out. I know it's supposed to help but I feel like it's getting worse.
I also started my period. I don't know if all the hormones might be causing this as well. I didn't change anything in my diet or skincare from last week to this week.
I got a short haircut yesterday because I was finally feeling good about the AN and it was heading in the right direction. Even yesterday, I thought the darker AN might just be a one-day thing (happens sometimes). Looking back on it, it's so much worse than last week. I can post pictures too if you all don't mind being grossed out by it.
Looks like I'm gonna have to dig out my turtlenecks again this summer
Any users here ? I recently moved to a new city and my new doctor prescribed Pioglitazone at its highest dosage. ( T2D, 42 Yo,. Hba1c of 7.6 on metformin 2g a day).
I see the drug is banned in europe and was temporarily banned in Asia. FDA has not banned it..am not very keen on this. I have made my reservations known to the doctor. He is not in favor of sulfonylureas..
My last physician was pushing for trulicity at an a1c of 10.5.. but I managed to bring it to 6.5 with keto. Covid..lifestyle put me back at 7.6... trying to go back to keto.. but no exercise makes it hard .
Anyhow.. any experiences with Pioglitazone ??
Thanks
I take Metformin, Alogliptin, and Empagliflozin. Before that I was taking Pioglitazone instead of Empagliflozin. My blood sugar was fantastic. My morning blood sugar was around 97mg to 115mg even after a hefty meal night before and the A1C was 6.5.
Then the VA changed Pioglitazone to Empagliflozin because I was doing really well and the risk of side effects including heart problem and possible bladder cancer.
Now my morning blood sugar wobbles between 117 to 190. I have trouble stay awake past 10pm and I can really feel the aftershock of whatever I eat.
I guess I need a medication that lessens the insulin resistance, not the one that flush out the sugar through urine.
Are there common diabetic medication that works similar to Pioglitazone but with less side effects? I need to talk about it when I see my primary care doctor next time.
I am a research scholar in my final thesis phase with time running out. Can one of you please help me find these two? I will really appreciate your help. With COVID 19 its becoming increasing difficult to spend hundreds of dollars on these.
