A list of puns related to "Persian Armenia"
Hey everyone, so recently I started a game in 769 as the Count of Taron and managed to become the Christian King of Armenia.
Essentially early on I took Vaspurakam (or however you spell it) and betrothed my adult son to one of the Mamikonian daughters. Their troops helped a lot in taking that second county so I could make it my primary and plot for a claim on the Duchy of Armenia. Eventually I became Emir of Armenia and was betrothed to a strong daughter of the Bukhal (I think) Khan. The Bukhals basically encroach upon Khazaria and the Alans and take a lot of the steppe. They also provide the necessary military support I need as King to vassalize the small Georgian counts and the (somehow independent Barmakid Kurdistan superduchy lol). Iโm married to the Bukhal princess and have a daughter with her, this daughter is my heir because I ordered my son to take the vows because of his age and lack of usefulness. This daughter is educated by a Zoroastrian Alan courtier with high martial and surprisingly doesnโt face much resistance as Queen, becomes a master seductress and when I realize I have no male heirs and have matrilineal marriage off as a rule, I try to seduce a Sassanid for bloodline collection but realize that really only works as a man so I get the tumble event and have a son. Out of fricking nowhere I realize the Byzantines are massive right now so I marry my mother to the heir and he becomes Emperor. Unfortunately my Bukhal uncle had other plans and now the Bukhal Khanate is also the Byzantine Empire. Ok. Right now my main concern is collecting as much land as possible, Iโd like to take the required land for the Kingdom of Persia at least. The Abbasids are weak but my uncle has a stupid modifier so heโs a little eh about me. Advice? Also, before: โwhy not Karen?โ Iโve played Karen so many times and want either an Armenian or Kurdish Iranian Empire.
Also, I work in tourism in Kazakhstan and have never met an Iranian tourist there - are there restrictions on travel?
My understanding is that Armenia essentially served as a buffer state between the two that they passed control over back and forth many times throughout history. Why did every time they establish a client Armenian king instead of incorporating the territory into their own respective empires? Was the mountainous terrain indefensible or not conducive to the force necessary to defend it?
Up until 1828 when the Persians were defeated by the Russian Empire and lost Eastern Armenia, and for a couple of decades after that, there seems to be almost no mention of nationalist Armenian sentiment.
So for 300 years it appears that Armenians had lived peacefully within both the Ottoman and Persian Empires, in fact becoming quite influential within the former and rising to extremely senior positions. Not sure about the Persian Empire but surely it would've been similarly favourable treatment.
The earliest mention of anti-Ottoman sentiment within the Armenians I can trace to 1850, some 20 years after a Russian presence in 'Armenia.'
Why was this?
What did the Armenians suddenly harbour nationalist ambitions once Russia had started occupying their territory?
300 years is a long time. Its very strange to me that suddenly Armenians started rebelling against the Ottoman Empire after Russia was on the scene?
Did Armenians ever have a concept of having an Armenian 'homeland' during their time under the Ottomans and Persians, or would this have been an alien concept for them in that particular time in history?
Discuss.
Time Frame: 100ish BC to 600 AD.
Was Armenia alternately dominated by the larger empires on its borders? Did it ever have a more neutral/independent stance?
Was Armenia ever an independent kingdom during this time-period? Did it pay tribute to either or both of the empires on its borders? Was it ever incorporated into either a Persian or Roman empire?
It's taken me way too long to embrace my culture but I'm finally learning armenian. My family/mom is from Iran and I'm wondering if anyone knows if they speak western or eastern armenian there?
Below, find excerpts and videos showcasing different dialects of the Armenian language. You can also read more about the dialects here, here, and here. The Nayiri.com links take you to written examples, and flipping a few pages back and forth, you can find more information about that dialect.
Enjoy!
"The scene with the Dothraki following the defeat of the Lannister's, where we have them wandering over the battlefield and taking things off the dead bodies. I really liked the idea of them taking their coats and wearing them โ it was something seen during the Soviet invasion of Azerbaijan. By the end of the war, it was hard to determine the difference between the Bolshevikโs and the democrats, because theyโd stolen each other's clothes. Whoever was winning stole the best coats. And I love this, you have the Dothraki taking their coats and armour โ and although the armour isnโt particularly useful, the coats keep them warm. I tried to look way more into the behaviour โ wanted to show that they were making useful items from those they killed. Though you have these two sides that are so different, I wanted to show that blurring of lines. In war, weโre all the same."

I was trying to make a list of all Georgian monarchs ever, under monarchs I mean everyone, including kings of separated and divided Georgian territories and their self-proclaimed kings, and including tribal leaders of the early period.
Also, in case this gets reposted, I don't want to share just names and what they did, I want people to understand the timeline and what were these states where these people ruled, so we start from there, with a small overview of general proto-Georgian states that were settled by Georgians for many thousands of years and even beyond that, tribal settlements already existed 200 000 years ago, exactly in the surroundings of where are major Georgian cities today, early proto-Georgian states were first mentioned in 1200 BC by the Assyrian king Tiglath-Pileser I, it seems that Diauehi - แแแแแฎแ (1200 BC - 750 BC), was counter-attacking the king. There is the Kingdom of Colchis - แแแแฎแแแ / แแแ แแกแ (1300 BC - 164 BC) which eventually absorbed Diauehi as the union of proto-Georgian tribes. Meanwhile, in the East of Georgia, the Kingdom of Iberia (302 BC - 580 AD) is taking shape under the first Georgian dynasty of Kings. Under Roman rule, Colchis transformed into Lazica - แแแแแแ / แแแ แแกแ (131 AD - 697 AD). After Lazica and Iberia, Georgians were seeking ways to unite the dynasty, Tao-Klarjeti, Abkhazia, Kartli, all were taking part in the game of thrones. Finally, the second major dynasty of Kings was able to unite all Georgian tribes within the Kingdom of Georgia (1008 - 1490), after devastating attacks Kingdom was divided into small duchies who all claimed to be kings of Georgia, such as the Kingdoms of Kartli, Kakheti, and Imereti. Until 1810, when Russian Empire abolished the Georgian monarchy.
To be honest, I didn't check the limit that actually exists for a Reddit post, it's 40000 characters, and I did over 80000 so had to trim it a bit, but I think I have provided information for anyone who had an impact and actually did something beneficial or had an impact but did something awful, you can find all the game of thrones here. I will post both parts at the same time and will link both parts to each other.
