A list of puns related to "Pearl Street Station"
As the title says. I thought it was fitting to ask this today, i remember hearing that command on the island knew about an hour before the attack started but threw it out as a bad read. but I've always wondered, what if they scrambled the islands fighters and got the ships moving or at least ready?
Today the Pearl Street Market convenience store in Coast was demolished. It had been closed for a few weeks.
Does anyone have any background about why it closed and what will become of it? Or if not, any fond memories? I grew up going there with friends and it will be missed.
Hello all!
This is a small attention/warning post for anyone else living on Pearl St; There seems to be someone walking, or driving through the street and snatching whatever they can see/ get too as they've already stolen both my, and next door neighbors, property!
They've stolen my neighbor's barbecue grill, as well as mine, a small igloo cooler from me, and just earlier I discovered they've actually stolen my Rigid brand drill/ impact driver set out of my car... Funny enough they returned my grill to me as well as all the charcoal that was bagged underneath it (I guess they realized they didn't want a cheap-O $30 Aussie grill.
I know this isn't the most active sub, however for the small community that does lurk/ post on here I hope nothing has been taken from you, and keep an eye out!
No time to write up a whole blog post today, but decided to do a quick Reddit post with a little new-stuff info for my fellow Albanians:
-- A small but stylish vintage clothing shop called Ducky's has opened at 383 1/2 Madison. You can see some pictures on their Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ducky.s_alb/
-- Just down the street, a "Lifestyle Boutique" called Rom Shop has appeared at 472 Madison Ave. They're currently doing a soft opening from noon to five PM on the weekends. Here's the website: https://romshop.co/
-- The Skinny Pancake has finally opened on the corner of Steuben and Pearl. They're currently open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, plus dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. They're planning on extending their hours over the next few weeks and are currently waiting for their liquor license. Here's the website and menu: https://skinnypancake.com/locations/albany/
-- Right next door at 54 N Pearl, The Steuben Street Market, which closed for months during Covid, has reopened with a refreshed menu, new decor, and a liquor license (they currently seem to have a small canned beer selection). See the food menu here: https://steubenstmarket.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/CORONA_MENU_-3.pdf
I might just be naive in not understanding it, but is there a reason why New Street station often has armed police? (Like today).
Organize trades here!
I work at the airport and traffic to and from the terminals is insane! Itβs much easier to get dropped off at the sky train station on 44th street and Washington and take that to the terminal than to sit in traffic thatβs backed up to the 10. Same applies if youβre picking anyone up!
Just looking through the menu and there are like four dinner items. Was it like this before covid?
Hi folks- long time lurker here.
Just had an interesting interaction where some dude accused me of stealing his phone on the train as I was exiting the Main Street sky train station. I, of course, didn't leave the train or station with him (I was alone on the platform when I got off the train) and didn't have his phone so I said "Nah, you got the wrong guy" and kept walking. However, he kept following and accusing me for about a block and started getting aggressive.
I basically didn't stop walking but got into words with him, started being a bit aggressive back and he eventually backed off. For context I'm a bigger dude (220+ lbs) but this guy was a bit taller than me so I was still a bit wary - it was best case scenario since all we did was exchange words but I was definitely on alert for fisticuffs.
It ended alright for me but I was trying to figure out what dude's end game was? Was he trying to get me to pull out my phone? If he was gonna keep insisting I was ready to suggest calling the cops but obviously that wouldn't have worked in his favour. My thought was he was trying to scare me or throw me off guard but I couldn't really figure out the plan beyond that. Has anyone dealt with a similar scam?
I should also add that this is the first time something like this has happened to me in almost a decade of living here, so I wanted to see if other folks had had a similar experience near Main Street Skytrain lately or whether I had the pleasure of a random one off.
Stay safe out there!
EDIT: Thanks for all the comments folks, I appreciate all the input.
Lots of comments mentioning that he might've been mentally ill and I'll admit that it could have been the case - I guess he did kinda look rough around the edges (I try not to judge too much) but he came off as very lucid to me, actively tried to get my attention and was focused/holding eye contact with me while getting aggressive in his accusations after I initially said no, so I assumed he was trying to scam/rob me (travel brain lol) rather than just someone going through some sort of mental health episode (not that I'd really be able to spot one beyond the very obvious). And yes, I know it's Main Street, I've lived in the city for a while, but this seemed a bit more than my regular interactions with folks on the street.
I tried to file a report about it with Transit police non-emergency (I gave up on VPD non-emergency after waiting for an hour on hold and the online report forms don't incl
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm a sucker for textbooks. Does this book offer any insight that you wouldn't get from investment banking prep courses?
