A list of puns related to "Newb"
Its that time of the gym life cycle where all gyms get a massive influx of new years resolutioners. Machines and equipment that were empty, are now a lot more full lol. New gym folk, donβt be intimidated and ask for help if you need it. Regular gym folk, try to be nice ππ
Hello everyone. I am not new to 40k but I am new to the competitive scene. I have a new and small group at the small area I just moved into.
I was just wondering, besides this subreddit obviously, what some websites and people on different platforms to listen to/read when it comes to the meta, what lists to make for competition, etc.
I have asked around and didn't get much help last time I asked so was hoping some good people on here would help me find some resources to read for keeping up with the meta/competitive scene.
Thanks so much. Have a good day.
Iβm really new to thisβ¦
Letβs say you buy BTC through Robinhood, are you actually buying Bitcoin or are you buying βsharesβ (for lack of a better term) of Bitcoin? For example, you spend $47,360 (current price for 1 coin) with Robinhood, do you have 1 βshareβ of BTC or 1 Bitcoin?
Why would a company like Tesla accept a Bitcoin for a new car given itβs extreme volatility? Are they just betting on the future? Letβs say a Tesla costs 2 Bitcoins which equals $94,720 - a week later, that $94,720 could be worth 80k fiat. What would make them want to take that risk? Just to participate in the βfutureβ and be part of the growth?
If I buy some BTC on Robinhood, would I need/want a cryptowallet and somehow connect that wallet to my Robinhood account?
Today I was playing a few Rivals games over lunch break to keep my gold Rivals standings for rewards. I matched with a kid who clearly was new to HUT. His only decent players were the free cards from the store the past few weeks. (He held me to a 1-0 first period) Instead of continuing burying this kid, I messaged him asking "are you new to HUT?" He says "yes." I invited him to a party, said he got the game for Xmas. We chatted about upgrades and changes to his team to help him be more competitive. Taught him about XFactor cards, events, etc. I even mentioned NoSleeves12's Twitch stream and YouTube page for a more detailed explanation into HUT. We added eachother on Xbox and I'll try to continue to help him as he progresses. My reason for this post is to inform my fellow HUT Lords.. be kind to the newbs. If you notice someone with a weak team, maybe try doing what I just described. You play, no, GRIND, HUT because you love the game. Talking HUT with people should bring you joy. We all know the feeling of starting a team at the beginning of the game, when an 83 base pull feels huge during week 1. Let's counter some of the toxic attitudes we see and hear about, bring some knowledge and kind words to those just starting up. (Thanks if you made it this far)
Would it be a bad idea to play LVO as a first tournament?
Edit* the downvotes arenβt a great signβ¦
Edit** my army is fullly painted any based and I am fairly versed in its abilities and points.
Edit*** Well, aside from a couple people here, you all have been quite helpful. Ive found the link to the player placed terrain info and will studying it up and getting in all the practice I am able.

Then this is the thread FOR YOU! Don't take up valuable space on the front page and annoy the mods, ASK IT HERE and one of our resident "experts" will try and answer it. As long as its somehow related to powerlifting then nothing is too generic, too stupid, too awful, too obvious or too repetitive. Given the difference between Luke's and Linus's challenges on Linux, I feel like Luke is having a much easier time just because he is using Mint, and Linus is having a hard time using Linux because of Manjaro.
Don't get me wrong, there are glaring problems with both, but I think going with an Arch based distro, like Manjaro, is really giving Linus a hard time. Manjaro especially is a bad idea. I have heard tales of instability caused by Manjaro holding back critical packages, and other weird errors that just don't occur on Arch.
I feel like we should not recommend Arch based distros at all to newbs. Infact, if Linus had chosen to reinstall Pop, I am convinced he would have a much, much better time.
I am open to discussion and opinions, but please don't give me the anecdotal experiences like "Oh, but Manjaro worked for me", or "Debian based was really hard for me"
The fact is a majority of newb users are better off on Debian based platforms that Arch based platforms.
I was playing a pickup game. And went to throw downfield, at the last second I pulled the throw back but in doing so I bobbled the disc and then caught it before it hit the ground. There was no advance in field position and my pivot foot stayed planted. Everybody let me play it but they told me to look it up in the rules and get back to them next week.
I briefly looked into the rules but could find an answer for this or maybe I missed it.
Whatβs the correct call.
Edit: by bobbled I mean lost complete control, the disc fell completely out of my hands.
You know that John Travolta gif when he looks around all confused? Yep that's the same reaction when I walk in the gym. I literally have a gym next to me where I live. It's a 2 minutes walk. It's EOS Fitness. I'm so glad they're open 24/7 except for the major holidays.
I have some friends that helped me with what to eat. I have that squared away. But they're too busy to join me at the gym.
I'll be by myself at the gym.
Goals are to get shredded obviously. Second goal is to be strong enough and have enough stamina to work for a moving company. Don't work for a moving company just wanted to show how strong I want to be.
I'm 5'7" tall, mid 30's. No back problems at all. Skinny fat and overweight right now. Have lost 15 pounds already by eating healthier.
Looking for any good advice. Thanks
TL;DR fitness newb does not know much about proper form, exercises to be shredded and strong. Need help.
EDIT UPDATE: WOW! Thank you to all of you that responded. I'm currently taking notes from all your responses. I did not think I would have gotten so many replies.
Iβm not sure if any of you remember the last bear market when the suicide hotline was posted on hereβ¦.. But evidently, MANY investors were not mentally prepared to HODL through a bear market.
Maybe they want to use their profits for a house, a car, a pet, pay their childrenβs tuition or they are just not in the financial circumstance to risk their investment dropping 80-95%, or to 0.
It may be the right choice for YOU to HODL and never sell, for others that may be the tipping point that ruins their life.
In addition to this. What is the worst thing that could happen by taking profits? You made some money, and if you choose maybe you can re-enter at a lower price, in turn making more money than the person who just hodled forever and never sold? Sure, either strategy could work just fine. But if you look at people who got rich from crypto, most of them bought during the bear market. Hodling from the peak all the way through a bear market doesnβt earn you more points.
TLDR: Stop telling people what to do. Everyoneβs financial situation is different.
I have a lectric guitar and put acoustic strings on it but it still sounds like a lectric. What am I doing wrong. Ned this answered today!
Hello everyone. I have been on a Warhammer novel deep dive for a little over a year now. I absolutely love the universe and novels with the foot soldiers of the imperium have really stuck with me (15hrs).
I visited my local game shop and impulse bought a couple of models. I have a leman Russ battle tank, cadian heavy weapons squad, and a cadians shock troops. What else do I need for a decent 500pt army. I'm not trying to win tournaments, just trying to learn and make new friends while I play. Also any advice you have on how I should set them up (heavy weapons or no heavy weapons?) Would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried to googling the answer and searching around and it mostly just confuses me.
Thank you so much for you help!
Sorry for the super noob question. I just started playing Pokemon Go about a month ago and have been in two raids where we took down Kyurem. While I still can't hit curve excellent balls consistently on normal pokemon, I can hit curved great balls pretty consistently.
However, both times I have tried catching Kyurem, the balls don't seem to go far enough and they miss him all together and I end up wasting multiple balls because of this. I don't have the same issues with any of the 1* or 3* raid bosses, just this one for some reason.
Any tips on how to at least make the pokeball hit the raid boss?
For context:
- Bought the NomadΒ + Squadron 42 pack for about $100.
- 2080 Super, 64gb Ram, i7
- Installed on an M.2 SSD.
I will say, I am blown away by the POTENTIAL of this game.Β As I said to a friend after my first hour exploring, this is why I built a gaming PC 2 years ago. Β Then I actually tried to play the game.Β Here is a rough outline of my first 3 days/12 hours or so...
- Spawn in my apartment on New Babbage.Β Sweet.
- Notice my FPS is about 15...no idea why. Restart my computer to ensure this is the only program running. FPS is now 10 and stays there.
- Go to jump in the elevator from my apartment and...it's not there.Β Just a hole where it should be.Β Close, restart game to fix glitch....nope, still there.Β Jump through hole, fall to death, revive on ground floor, continue with game.
- Notice that the game randomly freezes for 1 or 2 seconds as if loading. No big deal, except it happens about every 5 -10 seconds.
- Run to catch train to spaceport.Β Running through tunnel, game glitches to show random inside of anonymous room.Β Run straight through wall, come out the other side in terminal, but game freezes for 1 second to get back up to speed.Β Miss train by 1 second.
- Get Nomad, launch first money-earner: Package Delivery.Β 3 packages.Β Fly to pickup.Β Grab first package, watch it stutter-fall out of my hands, then unable to pickup.Β Figure it will sort itself out.Β Deliver other 2 packages.Β No way to complete task as 1st package stuck on ground.
- Try again.Β Launch second Package Delivery.Β Deliver first 2 packages.Β Go to pick up 3rd package from ship...watch it stutter-fall out of my hands, then unable to pickup.
- Try Cargo instead.Β Look up best trade route on SC-Trade.Β Travel across the galaxy.Β Buy WiDow and Medical Supplies.Β Go to sell WiDow.Β Only store to sell it to in galaxy isn't buying any.Β Go to sell Medical Supplies.Β One store will some, but not all.Β Fly across the galaxy to 3 different ports to sell.Β Go back and finally sell WiDow.Β Realize you've spent 1.5 days and made 6,000.
- Try Mining.Β Fly across galaxy.Β Rent ROC.Β Buy Pembroke Armor and Helmet.Β Not enough fuel to get to Hulston.Β Fly to Ambitious Dream Station to refuel.Β Request landing...no response.Β Realize you have no QT to go anywhere else. Try requesting landing 10 more times.Β Nothing.Β Don't want have to quit and get ROC again, so log off in bed on ship. Try again the next day, landing granted.
- Fly to Aberdeen.Β D
... keep reading on reddit β‘What are the differences between F1 and Indy? Iβve tried googling but donβt find a clear guide on this and would love to learn more about them Both.
I posted earlier that I just found out Iβm half Jewish (mothers side) and my father is Christian. Some of you reached out to tell me to speak to my local rabbi but I have and they wonβt really speak to me or make time? Itβs just a weird feeling. Iβve tried another rabbi and they said if i have questions to turn to others? Another rabbi told me to start with the Torah. I was just under the impression they would answer more questions likeβ¦ what do I do? What do I celebrate? Sorry I feel this is more like a rant but I guess Iβm trying to find the next step. I bought a English translated Torah. I should read that Iβm assuming?
