Were the present day indian muslims ancestors forcefully converted? (In context to mughal era)
We know that mughal rulers like Aurangzeb executed people who did not convert to islam. But what about the people who converted, do you believe they were forcefully converted. In my opinion, a persons whole belief system cannot change by just changing their name and chanting some words like bismillah… whatever.
I don’t think that death threats was the major reason for people converting to islam during the mughal era, but the reason was greed because the muslims were given administrative/ government jobs during the mughal era.

Who were the intended audiences of Mughal-era Persian-language cookbooks? That is, who would have been in a position to be both literate in Persian and be directing cooking in a noble or royal household?
Given the rarity of literacy and the fact that Persian would've been a second-language to most... were household chefs educated men? Was some other member of the household reading (and translating) the recipes for the kitchen staff?
Which Indian ports remained under the control of the Indian states (Mughal Empire, Marathas, Kingdom of Mysore, et al.) during the early era of colonialism in India, when most colonial possessions were small coastal trading posts?
I ask because I can't seem to find any maps that show all cities and ports. Rather, they only show country ownership, and since each coastal colony is part of a different country, it shows up, but any native Indian ports are simply counted as part of the larger domain without a marker.
In the future do you think Muslims will look back on this era as our dark ages? Colonialism, fall of the Mughals and Ottomans, war torn Muslims countries, weak oppressive rulers, nationalism, disunity, genocides against Muslims, and no one to fight back or unite us?
