A list of puns related to "Missing Person"
Why YSK:
Hollywood has brainwashed a lot of people into thinking that the police will simply shrug and say "sorry, we can't do anything until so-and-so has been missing for 48 hours". This is absolutely not true, and an extremely dangerous lie.
The first hours after someone has been noted to be missing are far and away the most important. If you genuinely suspect that something has happened to somebody, do not wait to call the police**.**
The sooner you call, the better. It may save a life.
I often see this - a person writes a post about how their family member is missing and they want it shared so that they can find them and get in contact with them, and the only number on the post is their own number.
This is sometimes used to locate people who have escaped abuse, someone who left an abusive partner and took the kids with them to a safe house, or maybe someone escaping honor related violence.
Always call the police if you know something about someone who might be missing.
Ok, back to the drawing board again. Welcome back everyone!
This is straightforward. NO Threats, NO new accounts or any impersonating nonsense. Be nice! Itβs great to have other ideas and theories we can throw around, itβs ok to disagree with people, but we wonβt be threatening them and acting like 5 year olds. Cool?
Iβll copy and paste the intro from the other page and maybe someone can add a post of facts weβve learned thus far.

Authors note: back in 2020 when Haulman was arrested for the murder of Erica Shultz, there were comments from locals that Haulman may have had other victims. Tianna Phillips was mentioned on both Facebook and Reddit threads as her circumstances were similar to Haulmans other known victim at the time. Haulmans involvement is now is very likely true. Haulman has confessed to his connection to missing women, Tianna Phillips from Northeastern Pennsylvania and Michigan, Ashley Parlier. Haulman was based out of Perry County, Pennsylvania and was a truck driver that frequented towards Michigan which gave him opportunity for victims all throughout his route.
According to Tribune News Service, a McClure, PA woman is a victim of a βserial killerβ after a Luzerne County detective said the 43-year-old man beat and stabbed the woman to death before waiting three months to collect her skeleton and dispose of the remains in a dumpster in Columbia County. 25-year old Tianna Phillips was the victim. Phillips was reported missing by her sister Toshia Feaster on June 13, 2018. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) agency opened a file last year on Phillips who police said was last residing in Berwick when Feaster said she went missing.
Investigators say Feaster spoke with police after Haulmanβs arrest in Shultzβs death in December and informed them Haulman had been in contact with her sister. Feaster said she had text message conversations with Haulman about her sisterβs disappearance, which she provided to Williams. In one of the text messages, Feaster asked Haulman if he knew where her sister was and Haulman responded: βI donβt know where she is,β according to the transcript.
Haulmanβs wife whom he was separated from, told police that Haulman was involved with Phillips, according to court documents. Anne Haulman told investigators Haulman and Phillips were seeing each other and that he became irate when she confronted him about the situation, police said. On June 13, Haulman left a residence in Duncannon and told his wife he was going to βscout out a spot,β and didnβt return until June 14, police said.
When Haulman returned, Anne Haulman said he told her he had killed Phillips, police said. The woman didnβt believe him and later in the day Haulman returned home and showed her two photos of what appeared to be a dead woman, police said.
In September 2018, Haulman returned to the location of Phillipsβs body and collected items, po

My entire family was over, we were just getting the food set up at the table and pouring drinks or whatever, when this distinct feeling came over me that someone was missing.
We were all seated there at the time (no one was in the bathroom or anywhere else), and thereβs been no recent deaths in the family or anything, so it was very strange. Thereβs only ten of us, too, so it was easy to account for everyone present.
I started to mentally count everyone, when I looked up and saw that my mum had a strange, confused look on her face and was doing the same. She then looks up and asks, βhey, whoβs missing?β
I freaked out, of course, because I felt the same way. No one else at the table did, but it was weird how this sort of βwaveβ of feeling washed over the both of us at the same time. We were so certain that we even started verbally listing everyone present, just to prove that someone was gone, and were even arguing that there HAD to be someone missing, as illogical as that sounds.
My mum and I were weirded out about it for the rest of the night, and still are. At the time, it was not a question of IF somebody was gone, it was this serious conviction that there was a person absent- a distinct person with their own personality and appearance. Weird.
Yes your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband is the one that made the commitment to you and they did make the affront ,and your wrath should be pointed towards them.
It is their fault no doubt but I feel like the statement of not blaming the third person only exasperates this issue and makes it okay for people
It basically sends the message to anybody that is single that day can and should cheat with anybody because they're not the one making the commitment.
Just typing that out you can see how someone could use this as justification.
"I'm not married to anybody bro so I'm not doing anything wrong."
I hate this mindset and I hate the people who have it
Of course if the third party does not know the person is in relationship then we can be reasonable but most of the time the third party knows if the person is taken and doesn't anyway and it makes my blood boil
Hello,
I didn't really know if this is the right place to tell her story or not but here goes.
My (half aunty) Linda is a missing person in Canada and went missing in 1981 from British Columbia. She's been missing with no sign of her since then. She went missing about a month after mother's day and happened to send a mother's day card to her mum (my grandma) in Australia. The contents of the card has always been what worried my mum (who is her half sister) because it was a little odd.
My mum has kept the card for 40 years (even after my grandma passed) and showed it to me when I visited last. I've attached a photo of the contents. The thing my mum always thought was odd about it was the symbol written on it. I don't really know what it means or if it has any link to her disappearance. My mum's gut was that she got wrapped up in some kind of cult but I haven't been able to find any kind of cults in Canada that have that symbol.
I know it's a bit of a long shot but any input at all would be much appreciated, thank you!

I was recently re-watching the Disappeared series on ID, and got stuck on the case of Robert Hoagland .
For those that donβt know the story, Robert βHoagyβ Hoagland, a 49 year old married chef and real estate appraiser , disappeared from Sandy Hook, CT on July 28th, 2013. According to Newtown police , Hoagland's son , Max,was the last one to see him the morning before he went missing. Hoagland reportedly left his car, wallet, driver's license, passport, credit cards, cell phone and the shoes he was last seen wearing. The last footage of Hoagland is at a gas station where he was seen buying a map. At the time of his disappearance his wife , Lori . was out of town. Lori ended up reporting him missing when didn't pick her up from the airport as planned.
Theories to his disappearance range from foul play , possibly connected to his sonβs drug addiction, to him simply walking away, as he had done before when his sons were very young.
There have been many alleged sightings of Hoagland, many in the areas surrounding Newtown, and several in Southern California. The latest I could find was a 2014 sighting at a correctional facility and a bookstore within 100 miles of Newtown . While foul play is possible, I do think he intentionally walked away from his life, for whatever reason. What do you think happened to Hoagie? Are there any other missing person cases where you have a strong feeling the individual is still alive ?
This person want to plot missing cases data into Google Map , and he got a refusal from paulides claiming it infringe on his copyright., Is this legally true considering paulides also use multiple source for his missing 411 data ? and can he claim publicly available data as his own ?

There is no Google Map of Missing 411 cases.
I asked David for CanAm Missing's blessing to add cases from the Missing 411 books to a "International map of missing persons that match the Missing 411 profile" Google Map.
I showed him an early version of a Google map I made that I said to him would:
I haven't linked to it anywhere publicly, I showed him for reference and it only has a few cases added to it.
This is the email reply from missing411@yahoo.com
>The map comes very close to what we sell. We would not approve of this in any way. Mentioning Missing 411 or utilizing any information gleaned from our books or maps would infringe on our copyright and trademark on products. Please do not do this as it blurs the line of our research and it duplicates what we have. The public would be confused, especially since Reddit has so many fictional stories about search and rescue and missing people.

So last night at about 10:30 pm a middle aged man and a boy who looked to be about thirteen came up to the night window. The man showed me a passport, saying it belonged to his wife and that he was trying to bring it to her but her phone died. I recognized her as someone I'd checked in earlier.
I asked if he knew her room number, and he did not, and this is where I made a mistake. I said I'd call her room and let her know he was here to drop off the passport. I called her room, no answer. I told the man due to guest privacy I would not be able to tell him the room number, but I could hold the passport at the desk for her.
He declined the offer, saying it was too important because it was her only identification. Which is where alarm bells started ringing, because she'd shown me an ID at check in. I apologized, and said it didn't seem like there was anything else I could do for him. He tried to guilt me, saying her son wanted to say goodbye and stuff, but I held my ground. I had trouble understanding what he said next because his mask was muffling his voice, but I understood it to be something about looking around the back of the building for her car.
Still sus, so I decided to keep an eye on him on our cameras. Of course my attention was almost immediately pulled away by another check in. After that couple of minutes I looked back to the cameras to see this motherfucker just knocking on people's doors at 10:30 at night. I stormed outside and told him off. He tried to make me the bad guy and say it could be an emergency, I told him again that I could hold the passport at the desk if he wanted, otherwise he needed to leave. I watched him leave, mean mugging him the whole way so he knew I was serious.
I kept an eye out for him and his car for the rest of my shift, but didn't see him so I just warned the next shift about him. When I came in for my shift today I asked if there had been further incidents with the room, and there had not.
But the woman came back to check in again today. She was quite drunk, and had trouble locating her ID and everything to hand over, she was also wearing the same clothes as she had been yesterday. I checked her in, making sure she was in a room that was in good view of the cameras in case there was any further funny business today.
About an hour later a police officer I'm pretty familiar with stopped by. He gave me the names of a couple people he was looking for, I didn't recognize the first name, but the second I recognize

Several missing persons cases were solved after 10 years, 20 years, etc where the person was kept hidden away and held captive (ie Jaycee Lee, Elisabeth Fritzl, Castro victims etc), which missing persons cases do you think could still be alive as captives?
For me, I honestly think Morgan Nick :(
(This is just a little mystery but since it's from Lichtenstein I thought I'd share it anyway)
The Principality of Lichtenstein is a small European country between Austria and Switzerland. The country is fairly crime-free with no military and a small police force with a total of 125 police officers in the entire country and criminals with sentences above 2 years being sent to Austria to serve their sentences.
From 1970 to the modern day the country has reported a total of 12 cases of either murder or manslaughter with the most recent one being on April 7, 2014, with all of them being solved and having a clear resolution.
However, In my research, I have found one missing person case with only one news article but as this case is mentioned on the Lichtenstein police website and is still listed on their site as a missing person it's safe to say despite the lack of information it's still unsolved.
Hedwig Rosa Beck was 51 years old at the time of her disappearance meaning she likely born in 1956 - 1957. That is all the information I can find on her past. Beck lived in a town called Triesen where on the evening at around 7:00 PM on July 21, 2008, she left her home to engage in the activity known as Nordic Walking where she was last seen walking along a road called SandhΓΌslerweg. She was wearing a Black Adidas trainer, a black jacket and pink shoes and also a pair of glasses.
A search was conducted 2 days later on July 23, 2008, After Beck failed to return home. I'm not sure how big the search was exactly but I assume due to the town and countries small size being an everyone knows everyone type country that the search would have been of considerable size and due to a lack of anything else going it was probably the biggest priority of the police at the time. The only thing the search party found was her Nordic Walking Sticks and her Glasses.
Unless the three comments left on my one source (that I can't read due to not paying to have a subscription) contain more information that is all that I can find on this case.
Here is a google maps view of the road she was last seen on. The first thing you may notice is that there is a river and on the other side of that river is Switzerland. I'm not sure if the Swiss authorities were involved in the investigation/searc

So Iβm a big fan of true crime, and spend a lot of time watching true crime videos about murder and missing persons cases since they tend to be the most common.
Iβve been thinking about it and realized that, at least in most of the videos Iβve seen, the narrator will have some sort of segment at the beginning just describing how much of a sweetheart and how lovely the central person involved in the incident is/was.
It always seems to serve as a way to make the case more sad, and ingrain this sense of irony of how such a good person of all people ended up involved or a victim of something so horrible. Not everyone who is murdered or goes missing can be such a lovely person, right?
Like is it just that these cases have more people behind them because the person was so good, which means they get more coverage through videos like this? Hasnβt there got to be some strange murders or disappearances that have mainstream coverage where the person is a total piece of shit?
To clarify I do to some extent understand why this is done, and donβt think that a narrator should discuss how awful someone was, but Iβve always found that the descriptions of an individual are super formulaic, and if the person was so incredibly awful that they had no good aspects, no one would really care what was being said about them so long as their was coverage.
If someoneβs girlfriend went missing for example, and the girlfriend was a piece of shit and abused her partner, the partner may feel a need to report it and get coverage on the situation out of obligation, but would probably not care too much if the coverage reported on how the girlfriend treated others.
