November 22nd, 2021 - Some users are reporting that Wine doesn't work on their Catalina and later macOS'. I added a safety check in the script that will check whether Wine is installed before continuing. If you get an error that Crossover didn't get installed, please look for errors in the Terminal output by searching (Command + F) for keywords error/errors.

Hello /r/swtor. With the recent release of CrossOver 21, one of the major bugs in Wine that forced me to use swtor_fix was fixed, so I had the opportunity to back and trying to make the game run on macOS Catalina and after. Luckily, I was able make it work 🎉. The bash script will detect the macOS on the computer before running a set of instructions to install Wine and SWTOR based on the macOS.

Minimum required macOS is High Sierra. The script will exit safely if it detects an unsupported macOS.

1. Add Terminal to Accessibility by clicking on the  top-left -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility -> Add Terminal
2. Open Terminal by going to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
3. If you don't have CLT (Command Line Tools) OR Xcode installed, type in xcode-select --install
4. If you don't have Homebrew installed, copy-paste this command /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
5. Start the SWTOR On Mac installation process by copy-pasting curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AgentRG/swtor_on_mac/master/install.sh | bash into your Terminal.
   • If your macOS is High Sierra or Mojave, the script will download a stable version of Wine 6.0.2
   • If your macOS is Catalina or higher, the script will download and compile a patched up CrossOver 21 on your computer. The speed of the installation depends on your computer. On my 2015 15″ Macbook Pro with Big Sur, the process takes around three hours.
6. Follow the SWTOR setup installation process and install the game using express installation. Do not start the launcher.

I need to downgrade an iMac for software compatibility reasons for a client, and it looks as though maybe Apple has yanked the downloads even though the support article is still up:

None of the links there work except for the latest OS. Using terminal command: softwareupdate --list-full-installers works and lists 3 different catalina installers, but fetching them all fail. fetching the latest OS version does work, so it would seem Apple has just taken these OS versions off their download servers. Any idea where I can get a copy?

I have found some dmg links on file sharing sites, but I would much rather use a trusted source as I have no way to really verify these images.

Should I upgrade to MacOS Monterey from Catalina on my early 2015 macbook pro 13 inch? I really like macos catalina but some apps are not supported. I don't want to slow my computer down.

Initially, I wanted to get a card on Clover, and sit on it, however, I could not do it. Having looked in the github of the assembly with the participation of my processor, where it was clear that my graphics is started only on OpenCore. My attempts to switch from Clover to OpenCore, as you can see, are not very successful. I seem to have set everything up correctly, but this error (it will be below) just finishes me off. I have started working on OpenIn vNext, and decided that next major update of OpenIn is not going to support macOS Catalina. I am indie developer, just cannot have ability to test and support 2 versions behind. Also it is getting pretty hard to get access to older versions of macOS with M1.

But I am not going to leave macOS Catalina users, for them I have provided a free version that is available from our website. It is the last currently available version of OpenIn on app store (with just one fix for numeric keyboard).

I am going to open a beta testing for OpenIn vNext soon, if you are interested, please subscribe to our newsletter (at the bottom of the page https://loshadki.app). I do not share emails with anybody, and send only announcements (probably sent 2-3 emails this year). One important detail about beta testing, it is going to be available via TestFlight for macOS, so you have to be on Monterey to participate.

It connects fine at first, but if I need to reboot my computer or put it into sleep mode, I need to delete the network and rejoin it or else it will never connect. This is SUPER annoying. Anyone know of a fix?

We've got a handful of laptops that still need to get upgraded to Big Sur, but the catch is that (1) all these users don't have admin rights and (2) none of the machines are in DEP (they're too old).

Is there a way to push Big Sur to these machines silently in Workspace One. I know that we used be be able to push the Big Sur installer but admin rights are required for the full install.

Another wrinkle is that Monterey is out and getting Big Sur to deploy is tricky since it's not available in the App Store anymore. Monterey doesn't work with several of our security products yet. And there's currently no ETA on when they will. :(

Any help and/or advise is welcome.

I'm having no luck getting FortiClient 7.0.2 to work with SAML authentication. If I set it up as default it attempts to connect and then drops (no % or error displayed).

If I select external browser it opens a blank page with a countdown timer.

I'm not very familiar with macOS so it could be a simple trouble shooting step I'm missing or not doing. I just wanted to confirm that any one else has got this working in macOS and its not a bug.

Any Mac users have issues with installing/using? Whenever I try to close the "Live Viewer" it crashes my whole c4d and I have to reopen.

I'm running (yes, I know it's old and I should buy a new computer) iMac, 4GHz Quad Core Intel i7, 32 GB DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 2GB.

Downloaded the Octane X PR6 (Catalina) which installs fine. I bought a month subscription to test this out. But whenever I try to login in c4d I get "Could not find the required license or your subscription has expired"

It looks like I'm signed in to the standalone version in my license tab on the OTOY site. I downloaded that and couldn't even open as it was too old and said I needed to upgrade.

Any help/thoughts/anyone experience anything like this?

I am upgrading from macos Catalina to Monterey. I first updated the opencore from 6.3 to 7.5 by doing an oc clean snapshot in propertree and setting mindate and minversion to -1. I then restarted the computer to see if it would boot up catalina and it did. Hence, I updated to macos moneterey through system preferences. When its updating it boots into 'ioconsoleusers: gioscreenlockstate 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0 sm0x0' and then a black screen. I have also changed the plat id to '00009B3E'

UPDATE- I just needed to update the kexts and it booted successfully and edit the efi folder in windows.

I'm upgrading my previous (Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 i7-6700K) Hackintosh successfully running Catalina to a new processor. I started out out by trying to install using the unibeast/multibeast method which has worked for me the last decade. After some failure it was suggested I try open core given the complexity of the hardware and new operating systems.

I followed TechNolli's guide to the letter because of the simularity of our systems with the exception of the Mac system definition which I set to iMac20,1 because of my processor. Although I did notice that it only had 5k series GPUs associated with it. The guide is over a year old so I did have some trouble tracking down the SSDT's he used but I felt good about the decisions I made. Followed his guide for creating a boot loader and BIOS settings as well. The only difference was; I found the latest version of Catalina on a torrent site because Apple was not being helpful. Bootloader was seemed to be created successfully without a hitch.

The issue: When I load up and select the UEFI:USB it sits for a bit then circles back around to the selection dialog. There is an empty box directly above and selecting that offers the same results. I feel like I missed something in my BIOS but I've checked serveral times and cross checked against other guides as well. Wondering if I should circle back around and try with Big Sur now that I have a better understanding of this process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I included screenshots and as copy of my EFI below. Thanks!!!

I bought a USB card to pass my keyboard, mouse, and audio through to my VM's. But on MacOS it does not work. I am using Artix Linux and trying to make a Catalina VM. I am using the ACS patch kernal from the AUR (5.14.10-arch1-1-vfio). This is the entry from lspci:

So i have a kamvas 22 i bought a week ago and i tried using it on my mac using an adapter for the hdmi and it works as a pen tablet but it doesnt show the actual display, when i go into display settings on system preferences the detect displays does nothing when i click on it either, whats up with that?

I am reinstalling MacOS Catalina from recovery mode (Command + R), since my Mac (late 2013) stopped working after an update.

It does not detect the internal hard drive, so I plug in a 4TB external hard drive to make it work.

Everything’s going fine until it gets stuck in "2 minutes remaining".
