I just registered for a retreat at a private retreat center through a nonprofit for people with my disability. It's a place where you rent a room and they provide meals and facilities for the nonprofit to conduct their activities over a weekend. After I registered I got an email that there would be a $100 cleaning fee to I bring my service dog.
Before I refuse to pay this unreasonable fee (that was presented in a very backhanded way after I'd already registered!), I wanted to double check.
This place is acting as a hotel, and cannot charge me a fee, correct? Or if there is a possibility it's legal to charge me this fee, I want to know.
Is this a legal serve? I (hover around 1900 Elo) typically serve cross corner but once in a while will push it so that the ball cuts across my side of the table and just barely catches the opponent's corner. I was playing against a higher Elo player (~2400) and they seemed upset (I keep all opponents' sound off) that I tried it once and got the point. The body language seemed like they were upset and then he sent one just like it back to me as if it was to teach me something. In the second round I sent another one and he forfeited. If it is unsportsmanlike to send one of these, I would like to know. I was testing it out in the serve practice and it seems like I'm following the rules and if I was to contact the ball over the line, it faults.

Last year my mother in law called SS about my partners drug use and her concerns for my partners daughter's (my step daughter) welfare. My partner then went to an inpatient rehab facility for 3 months. During this time her daughter stayed with my mother in law.
At this time SS involvement was limited and the case was closed. However, my mother in law, not being happy with the lack of action taken by SS made a formal complaint which eventually lead to SS paying for my mother in law to take my partner to court privately in order to obtain a CAO 'Child Arrangements Order' for my step daughter. Now, because of a 'conflict of interest' SS are unable to obtain Legal Aid for my partner as they cannot fund both sides.
My partner has been battling her mother's solicitor with no legal representation for a year. She has also tried to complain to SS about the handling of her case but apparantely you cannot start the complaint process if something is currently in court.
However, after a fair few emails SS have (not on paper) admitted that this is an unusual situation and my partner should entitled to Legal Representation but the only way to get it for her would be for SS to issue a PLO 'Public Law Outline'. This process would grant my partner Legal Aid, and this is the part I have questions about.
From what multiple people have told us, this PLO business is just about SS saving face on a matter that they deemed insignificant enough to issue a PLO in the first place that is now being seen in court privately. Is it likely that SS are attempting to cover themselves by offering a PLO (which are pre court proceedings) now as a better late than never type thing?
We are being sold the idea of a PLO as being beneficial to us as we will get representation and as if it is our choice, however after looking online I haven't been able to find anyone claiming a PLO to be a good thing, but perhaps if they could offer counsel in the current court case I can see the benefit. Is it true that the solicitor will be able to help us with the current court case against my partners mother? If we are going to get given a solicitor but they are only able to help with the PLO something that didn't exist until yesterday, how is that going to help us with the case we are being told we should have a solicitor for?

I am hoping someone can let me pick there brain and walk me through this.
I see legal services businesses offering for example ipro and charging as low as $5 a gig for hosting 1tb. There are some small fees for seats (user logins) and any remaining fees are strictly for printing, binding, etc.
How are they turning a profit with such low hosting costs? Law firms hire these legal services businesses directly per case. Do they have an ipro license and than there own cloud in aws linked to it and resell there own storage? My understanding is you can't get hosting fees that low directly from the software companies. Can you link any cloud such as aws to these softwares?
Now if someone was going to get depo or subpoenaed about data - would it be the legal services owner or the vender he gets super low rates from? I assume if he has his own cloud linked such as aws he would the one that gets depo or subpoenaed.

They provide a service... to customers... why do they have no customer service? I truly don't understand how they can operate without a designated support team, where they have a phone number to call and someone picks up, or a chat or email service. I'm so frustrated right now. Granted my account has only been disabled for a few days (some of you on here mention months), but this is true bullshit. I did not violate any ToS, and they are impossible to get ahold of.

There is this pro-life organization that is supposed to give out help financially to people who need it so that they can have an child birth without expenses, but apparently it requires those people to give out things like their Bank stubs, proof of rejection letters, their id, and their logins and passwords to their billing.

As a sitter, I work for Rover and occasionally for Wag. When I registered to these platforms last year, none asked me if I had a license to provide dog walks and overnight boardings. I am sure I am not the only one. I read online that pet sitting businesses need to hold proper licensing and register as a business. Does this rule not apply to sitters when we work for these platforms?
I read that its illegal in Norway. But I see a lot of ads in tinder and websites which offers escort services in various cities in Norway.
I've been looking for a non-profit that provides legal services to male victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence. So far I've been denied access to services by every organization I've called. I've used the CLEAR hotline / Northwest Justice Project / DV Hotline, RAINN to find referrals, google, and I've followed up on recommendations from domestic violence hotlines and my trauma hospital. No luck. I'm hoping someone out there knows for sure that an organization out there helps male survivors because it's not pleasant to have to explain your story only to be told to go elsewhere over and over.

Hi all,
A couple of years ago someone told me about a service in Switzerland that provides legal support. It was a small(ish) yearly fee (maybe 100-200 CHF) and they can help tenants with issues with their landlords.
I'm not sure if it is specifically for tenant/landlord disputes or if the service offers other types of support but we were discussing it in the context of apartments.
Does anyone know the name of this legal support? I keep meaning to sign up for it but forget the name.

I used to work in the service industry in the early-mid 2010’s. The work conditions were typically pretty awful but I allowed myself to be exploited for so long because I thought I couldn’t find anything else.
I vividly remember one of the policies the places I worked for had was that if a customer walked out without paying their bill, the server was responsible for covering the cost out of their tab. It always felt sketchy to me then but I just accepted it because I needed the job.
I wish I had known my worth back then.

For the purposes of this question assume you were of active service age at the time and disregard gender. I was watching a show about the origins of WWII and it's just something we have been lucky enough not to have to consider in recent memory.
No idea how it'd work but maybe it'd be a good loophole to the whole "oh you're a single young woman with no kids, you might regret getting your tubes tied later on!"
Like think about it, if a husband can give her the go-ahead anyway, why not hire a man to legally marry the woman, tell the doctor to tie her tubes like it's a Christmas present, then the woman is free to live a childfree life.
Of course there's always just giving women the right to do this themselves and cut out the middleman. My idea with this is to work in anti-abortion states with too many Republicans running amuck.
