A list of puns related to "John O'farrell"
I have just finished An Utterly Impartial History of Britain and thought it merited a spotlight.
This book is exactly as you'd expect in the title. It details a very broad overview of British history from the pre-Roman times up until the end of WWII. It does so in quite a facetious way which keeps the reader entertained, but it also cites sources and the like. The best comparison I could make is to the Horrible Histories series which was/is very popular with British school children. If you ask any 20-30 year old in the UK, they will know HH. This book is like Horrible Histories but for adults. It's insightful and entertaining.
I chose to read this book because, whilst I have a general interest in history, I have an embarrassingly small grasp on the internal history of my own country. I also wanted to establish the context of a certain recent political decision undertaken by the British electorate, and why we made that decision... I thought that reading a serious historical book might be a bit too dry and wouldn't give me the overall general timeline.
There is a sequel to this book called "An Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain: or Sixty Years of Making the Same Stupid Mistakes as Always" which details the journey of Britain from the end of WWII all the way to the 2008 crisis which I have bought and plan on reading soon.
The Giants led 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth of todayβs game, having previously βgotten toβ Cubsβ starter Phil Douglas, but after Fred Merkle worked a walk, Charley Pick hit a soft single, and Charlie Dealβs attempted sacrifice became an infield single, catcher Bob OβFarrell came to the plate and promptly βpasted a mighty fly into the clouds and it landed close to the wall back of center. Young and Kauff let it ride because neither could reach it, and it meant two runs and the end of the game in spite of anything they could do.β All of this took place amid heavy rain, as the weather, which had been threatening even before the game started, turned to straight-up rain in the fifth inning, but the umpires, unwilling to cancel any further games with September 1 so close, βkept them at it to the bitter end, as the ground conditions did not get any worse than they were at the start.β One reason the game was so low-scoring is that the field was too slippery for runners to safely make their way between bases, and several men were thrown out who on drier days would have been safe. But OβFarrellβs hit went high and far enough to ensure that nobody had to rush too much to cross home plate, and the day was won.
During the middle of the seventh inning, in a poetic gesture, the Cubs boosters (the βCubsβ Clawsβ) presented Giants manager John McGraw with βa basket of flowers for auld lang syneβ as McGrawβs Giants will not return to Weeghman Park until the war is over.

I recently moved into the city and I walk by this place regularly, seems like a mystery on Google reviews and Yelp.
Anyone know what this place is? My partner and I think it could be a super secret speak easy that always says "closed".
9pm, BBC Two
"Ian McGuireβs Booker-longlisted novel on the 19th-century whaling industry gets a stark and star-studded treatment in this five-part adaptation. We follow opium-addicted surgeon Patrick Sumner (Jack OβConnell) on an apparent journey of redemption aboard the Greenland-bound Volunteer. With monstrous harpoonist Henry Drax (Colin Farrell) and duplicitous Captain Arthur Brownlee (Stephen Graham) for company, the crew find their humanity falling apart the further they journey into the Arctic wasteland"
Don't know when or where it will releasing in the USA
Okay so this movie was one of the best Iβve seen in a while on Netflix. I really enjoyed it despite it getting a 15% on rotten tomatoes lol.
EDIT: haha, so I see I am the only one with this opinion. I kinda love that though
