Wouldnt this have pressured the imperial senate to negotiate much earlier? After all, Italica was one of the main economic centers of the empire.
Well, I heard Italica is one of the better ones by Xerjoff. It is certainly gourmand and I was mildly impressed by its beginning.
My mum applied it in a different room an hour or so before me and I really thought she was baking. In the top notes I recognize saffron with milky tones. Very pleasant, you smell like a cookie. However, that's it. Later you can faintly smell toffee... but this perfume disappears after like 2 hours?
The projection is in the long run extremely weak and it does not act as a skin scent either.
Overall, 6/10. Would not recommend for blind buying. While the scent can be generally pleasing and very likeable, unless your skin can capture it really well, it is not worth buying.

I've had my brand new bottle of Italica for a few days now so I figure I would share my impressions for those interested. I own Xerjoff Naxos and Mefisto Gentiluomo bottles already with an assortment of other samples. As a brand, I think Xerjoff quality is great even if some of the scents aren't for me so I blind bought Italica due to the hype and FOMO (limited supply).
Starting with the packaging, the box has beautiful artwork and a little silk pull tab to reveal the goods inside. The bottle was nestled in a velvet lined plastic tray that was surprisingly tricky to remove it from. For a luxury product focused on presentation, this little snag had me a bit frustrated but alas, I managed to free the silky red bottle from its plastic prison.
The bottle itself is beautiful with a vintage and gaudy flair. The little white tassel dangles awkwardly. I hope you don't have cats. The classic golden upswept Xerjoff cap sits snugly and firmly on top making lifting the bottle exclusively by gripping it safe. The atomizer itself also feels quality and douses you in a nice mist.
Okay okay that's all nice fluff but how is the scent? Well, do you like dry almond biscuits and French vanilla candles? If you answered yes then now is your chance to smell like them. It starts out a tad sweet but that sweetness fades into a soft, smooth, woody and almondy aura. Its not as sweet and cloying as the notes would suggest but it is creamy and full. Leathery undertones push this a touch away from a pure gourmand and make it feel more wearable. This fragrance really lasted on my skin too. I could smell it on my finger almost a full day later by rubbing it on my neck then smelling it. I have to say it smelled like a lovely buttery toffee by this point so its a shame it was just a skin scent. How do other people react to this scent? Well I had 2 impressions: my boyfriend said it smelled like a candle and toffee and his mom said "you smell good". With COVID there isn't much chance to flaunt a fragrance but this isn't the kind of fragrance you wear casually anyways. Wear this one for your own comfort.
Lets talk value. This isn't a daily use kind of scent. I honestly don't know the most appropriate time to wear something like this other than a holiday or date night with a foodie. For $300 plus $40 shipping, this is an expensive fragrance. The 100ml size is excessive for a scent of this category. A 30ml offering would have been greatly appreciated. This scent also suffers from a lack of

Why did they bother getting locked into a standoff? Their vehicles could've easily outran the knights' horses?
So I quite like the taste with this yeast. The thing I'm wondering about is what kind of ABV people have gotten with it. Their datasheet for it states 18% tolerance but I've done several batches of it and it usually hits ~13% and dies out so I'm curious if others are having a similar experience.
For reference I've had Lalvalin 71-B pretty reliably go to 14-16% using the same recipes and conditions (literally side by side ferments).
I believe I searched amazon for CR-1 and didn't find any so I'm not sure how available it is in the US but I live abroad.
To anyone who have tried Lira and Italica, I would love to know what are your thoughts/opinions on these two fragrances. How's the performance? Aside from being in the gourmand category, is there any similarities between the two and do you think they're worth the price??
Italica Top notes are Almond, Milk and Saffron middle notes are Toffee and Vanilla base notes are Sandalwood, Cedar and Musk.
Lira Top notes are Blood Orange, Bergamot and Lavender middle notes are Cinnamon, Licorice and Jasmine base notes are Caramel, Vanille and Musk.
