A list of puns related to "International System Of Units"
In order to alienate ourselves from our global brethren, Reddit has decided to switch to the mandatory use of Imperial (non-SI) units. Therefore from now on all reference to physical properties such as weight, lengths, volume etc.. have to be conucted in non-SI units such as feet, pounds, gallons etc.. Of course the common steps such as supersize, absolute units, chonks et al. are valid and encouraged.
To expedite the change, Reddit will enforce these new units from day one. Please note:
Posts using SI units (the units literally everyone else on the planet uses: kilograms, kilometres, brains) will be deleted. Ligherpack.com and similar gear management tools should be switched to American units before 12.00 UTC on April 3rd. After that date links will no longer be allowed. Resources such as wiki pages have to be converted until 12.00 UTC on April 5th. This will be enforced for all new posts going forward and the ongoing weekly. However - It is encouraged to convert older posts as long as they are editable.
I, as a lowly Canadian, do not welcome our new American overlords but have no other choice but to submit.

...so.....How do we do that or help do that? Here, we're just preaching to the choir most likely.
edit:Obligatory thanks for the bestof love :) Didn't actually expect this to go anywhere....
That's why the SI was created, so that we could all understand and share measurements in one integrated system. It's a pain in the ass read something written in freedom units, and I've even seen scientific topics using it.

In my country, we use the metric system - would knowledge of the metric system be enough or I have to learn all the units and conversions between units of the imperial system? (like a feet is 12 inches...)
Thanks guys!
The whole world besides Liberia and Myanmar use it. Why won't the USA switch?
ITT: most people think this is a bout road signs. It is not.
Forgive my ignorance, but even if UC goes fully online, it doesn't seem impossible that they could offer something like a fys "navigating US education as an international student" make it 1 unit and "on campus"... i know it doesn't solve all the problems like international students who are staying in their home country, or those who feel uncomfortable coming on campus, but at least it's an option for some. I mean a lot of students pass classes that they never go to in person anyway, so maybe if it is in name only an "on campus" class????
