A list of puns related to "Integral Membrane Protein"
I guess I don't understand the textbook definition. I also don't know where it applies too. I have a study guide question asking where saturated phospholips, and unsaturated phospholipids, cholesterol, and integrals and peripheral proteins belong , ei. Like does winter wheat have those membrane components. My other question is does it apply to all, like for example if a thermal vent bacteria has a peripheral protein. Would an artic bacteria also have peripheral protein. Or like do all animals or plants and bacteria have the same membrane components. Or does it vary due to temperature? I just don't understand this section and I have an exam coming up soon and I feel like the text book and internet research doesn't really help me figure out what everything is . Thank you very much in advance to anyone who helps
Integral membrane proteins are tightly associated within the cells membrane but how do they get associated in the first place? Are there special chaperones that do this in the beginning of the cells life cycle? What are he stages between protein synthesis and membrane association?

As the title said, I was taught that viruses are a protein shell with a DNA packed in that inject their DNA (or RNA) into the host cell. Now I learn that some viruses actually have membranes and multiple membrane proteins, which is much more complex than the image I have in my mind. Now I'm wondering about how many different phenotypes of viruses there are, is it a binary thing, some are a protein shell and some are a membrane, or more of a spectrum? Do we know?
