A list of puns related to "Input Lag"

As we all know, Tekken always had problems with input lag, especially online. Well, that's because there are a few of unnecessary frames of input lag offline and online. One of them is that the game applies one extra frame of network input lag online, but it also does it even if you're playing offline.
The unmodded input lag table for online games looks like this: https://wavu.wiki/t/Connection_Bars
The way it works is the game takes your ping, looks at the table, chooses the most appropriate line, takes input lag number from there and then adds 1 to it. So, for example, you have ping 60. The game looks at the table, sees that 60 is less than 82, sees that the appropriate network lag is 0, so it takes 0 and then adds 1 to it. So you always have at least 1 frame of additional network lag online. Now you can see how at a higher ping such as 155 you'd have 4 frames of network lag: 3 frames of network lag from the table plus 1 extra.
We managed just straight up remove the 1 frame of this extra input lag without any bad consequences, such as desyncs. This also makes online games at lower pings have 1 frame less of input lag compared to offline games on unmodded game, because even when you're playing offline the game still applies this 1 extra frame of network input lag. Yep, you've read it right. You can now play with less input lag online than people who play offline on PS4 or PC on unmodded game.
We also managed to push the limits at which we can play with below offline-level lag. Before, on the unmodded game, you'd play with 1 frame(0 from the table + 1 extra) of additional network lag at ping range 0-82. Now you can play with 0 frames of of additional network lag at ping range 0-116. If you look at the table with pings, you'll see that, for example, at ping 102 you'd have 2 frames of network lag(1 from the table + 1 extra), and with the network lag fixes, you'll still have 0.
Now, how do we know it works? Maybe it's just a number changes. So we tested it. Here's a video: https://youtu.be/FJaTD8qeBpo
In this video I start playing a normal 4-bar match with 2 frames of network lag: https://i.imgur.com/OsNkgK4.png
The on-screen keyboard shows immediately what keys I press no matter the input lag in the game.
At 1:40 I enable the table, increase the input lag to 60 to showcase that it works: https://youtu.be/FJaTD8qeBpo?t=100
And at the start of the nex

I'm just wondering why fighting games on consoles always seem to have higher input lag compared to pc?
I thought it's because the PS4 is not powerful but the PS5 is apparently really quite strong. I'm surprised that Guilty Gear Strive has a much higher input lag on the PS5 compared to the pc. Any reason why?
Is it due to game engine? I notice it's always unreal 4 engine fighting games that have a higher input delay on consoles.
Some games like Street Fighter 5 and Tekken 7 have higher input lag on consoles than pc.
Also, Guilty Gear Strive has higher input lag on the PS5 vs the pc. Why is this? The PS5 is a really strong console. I really don't get this.
BTW I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT MONITOR VS TV INPUT LAG. sorry for the caps. Lol!!!
Also, extensive input lag tests have been done by some guy called Wydd and another one called Noodalls. Research has been done on fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, DBFZ and even the KOF 15 Beta to name a few.

Please avoid console warring in this thread. Please avoid PC Master race arguments too. I'm already seeing some of this here lol!! Come on. Be nice and civil to each other.
Hello guys,
I'm POW3R, an Italian streamer and player for Fnatic. This is my first post and it comes from several hours spent on this beautiful game. Since i started playing Halo during the Technical test i noticed a weird input lag when making micro correction movements on a target, it seemed the bullet magnetism/aim assist you could disable from the settings but it didn't work. Now that Halo has been released there is no settings and i noticed the same thing, it's so weird to adjust your aim on a target. Looks like it snaps on a pixel or it slow your sens so much for a fraction of ms that you feel like there is some sort of delay or aim assist.
Does anyone have ever encountered this problem? I tried to tweet at Unyshek on Twitter, hope in a reply to fix this issue.
It's pathetic. I had input lag as soon as I got the game for 3 weeks, then I get perfect gameplay for around 2 weeks and the game is fun as fuck, and now I have total input lag and may aswell not play the game as I can't play anywhere near my usual level at all, first time shots are literally impossible to hit, if I get counter attacked I can't player switch fast enough to defend properly and dribbling is impossible aswell obviously.
And it's been like this in FIFA for fucking years, all the games I have played and this has never, ever happened in another game.
Totally amateurish from one of the highest grossing games ever, that literally wipes every year...
Edit: before someone says it, I'm on ethernet, I have gigabit broadband and I have fucked around with every setting that could make a difference, my games show 20 ping yet play more like 130.
Not a single match i played was good every match was soo terrible fucking mbappe and Neymar moving like a truck fuck ea may the go bankrupt this year
ZFG, one of the best Ocarina of Time speedrunners, is currently testing the version of OoT included on NSO. From his initial testing, it looks like the input lag is on par with, if not worse, than the Wii U VC N64 games (which is infamously horrible).
The control stick dead zone is also really bad.
Check out his Twitch stream if you're curious. Not gonna link it here to avoid this looking like an advertisement post, because it's not - it's a warning to everyone before purchasing the new NSO sub.
EDIT: According to more proper testing, it looks like the average input lag is ~220 ms, which is bonkers!
Again.
Creative team is probably coming soon, it was cool to have a not manipulated game for a few months⦠konami and EA .l.
It's called fullsceen in options but it's a borderless window mode in reality. There is no true fullscreen option in new world yet.
It fucks with input latency, gpu drivers and gsync/Freesync.
It's also a common reason if games feel slurry, unresponsive and has tearing and fps drops.
A typical issue is when turning the camera by 180 degree in a big open field, the fps drop and the screen starts to get slurry. These are typical issues of running games in borderless window and games become much smoother in fullscreen.
Ofc I can't say if these issues will be solved for NW but that's the regular behaviour for games. And I think many ppl now the issues with borderless in comparison to fullscreen.
So I had no idea there were input lag issues with Dolby vision until last night where it hit like a ton of bricks and made everything unplayable. I'm now seeing there are a bunch of posts regarding this issue. I had no idea because there has been no lag since day 1 of using Dolby Vision for Gaming. I played through the full campaigns of Metro Exodus, Immortals and most recently Halo Infinite with no issue.
Last night, I started up Streets of Rage 4 and noticed huge input lag. I also thought it was weird that SOR4 was running in Dolby Vision as it usually runs in "Game" mode. I fired up Halo Infinite to check and lag is now present there too, even on the xbox home menu.
So why do you think I am just now having this problem? It was clearly not an issue over the last several weeks. For reference I have an XSX, Sony XH90 and Dolby Atmos Sony Soundbar. I'm not aware of any updates that could have caused this. XSX is plugged into the TV with enhanced DV on the input and using eARC from the TV to Soundbar.
This is offline btw
I've been playing a bit of Ultimate with my friend who owns a switch, and I usually bring my gamecube controller (original, in very good shape), and my mayflash 4-port adapter. I've been noticing an annoying amount of input lag and it's driving me crazy. The issue is not in the controller/adapter (I think?) since I get absolutely no noticeable lag while playing on Slippi. Is this to be expected? Are there any updates on the Switch that fixed this? (he probably hasn't updated in a while... he doesn't play much)
I will try to be detailed sorry long post I have been trying to fix Apex and other competitive fps games for over a year now to play half decently with these rare bizarre input lag issues. Playing competitively or ranked is basically unplayable for me with these issues. Even playing casually is not fun and depressing because the problems are outside of my control. I am wondering if anyone else are suffering from this that follow this sub. My fps is good with no frame drops or ping/bufferbloat issues. It happens across different pc systems I have tried. The issues go like this:
1.After few minutes of playing, game starts to have sluggish and delayed inconsistent mouse input. Keyboard also feels slightly delayed and strafing is very inconsistent. Wallbounces and bunnyhopping are hard to do on a consistent basis. Aiming and shooting just feels awful.
2.Graphics also start to look janky, blurry and degraded. Lot of shimmering objects and edges. Artifacting and pixelated. 1080p looks like 720p and 144hz feels like less than 60%. Subtle microstuttering even after following trying thst one guide about gsync/vsync and capping frames around 141.
3.Inconsistent incoming damage feedback. It is a feeling like as if I am half a second behind the game server. When I am taking damage it feels like frames are skipping fast even though i am not dropping fps and my frametimes are good. I get quickly melted no matter how good my movement, aim or positioning is even by low level players. Similar to Call of Duty's shot first die first issues and similar to lag compensation but happening basically majority of the time. I
THINGS I HAVE TRIED TO FIX: different mice, keyboards, wifi, ethernet, isps, mobile hotspot, port forwarding, ingame settings, launch options, monitors, PCs, desktops, laptops, gpus, cpus, ram, cables, overclocking, undervolting, windows optimizations etc. you name it I probably tried it. I know any optimisations aren't usually not even needed because majority of people can just play just fine without any optimisations.
Thing is, when i first started playing Apex I thought all these issues were just normal and I would just need to spend a lot of money with excellent specs to play well. One day, I don't know what I did but all the issues randomly went away for one match, I was literally playing like a pro beaming plays so easily and my aim and input felt amazing. Ever since then I have been on the hunt to solve these issues and feel the high
... keep reading on reddit β‘I just bought rewasd to use with dualsense. Measuring the input, I have 3ms at 250hz. With ds4win I have 0ms at 1000mhz. Why rewasd can't achieve that? Both can remap buttons so is not an excuse. Main differences? One is paid with a better gui, other is free and better at lag input. And the free one can show the real battery level where rewasd is showing only 40% when should be 100%.
So Iβve been gaming on pc for the past 7 years with very little console gaming. One of the reasons I got into stadia was because of that nostalgic feeling of playing games on the couch with a game pad.
But Iβve noticed that itβs so hard to aim when using the controller that it almost feels like input lag. I donβt remember it being this bad when I used to game on a 360. The most recent example is with rage 2. No matter what I do, I feel like the I canβt aim precisely. Like it overshoots my target every time.
Iβve tried lowering the sensitivity but itβs still overshooting. Is this input lag? Or is that just the way it is with a controller? My current set up is chrome cast with android tv using wifi @ 275 mbs with stadia controller.
I just subscribed to xbox not that long ago. I must say so far I'm not impressed with the cloud service. The input lag must be around 500ms or so (I'm no specialist). It basically makes any racing or shooting game impossible to control. I have used stadia and I never noticed a lag or anything.
I have checked some reviews on Youtube and the input lag is very similar to what I'm experiencing. I'm wondering for others who use the service what is your experience with it and if there is any trick. I tried with 2 internet connections (two different provider) and it's very similar.
Edit: Just tried with an ethernet adapter I just got and same result. I decided to power on my old windows computer, upgraded to windows 11 and no lag! So it seems to be a macOS problem.
Whenever I do anything I get noticeable delay - like a quarter second. Does anyone else get this and is there any way to fix it?
For most of my time using GFN iβve had no problems except for the occasional lag spikes and quality drop, however for the last 2 weeks iβve had this problem; the graphics on my game will be completely fineβ¦no quality drop or anything, full 1080p, yet when I try and actually play I have a 3-5, even 7 second input delay. Iβll have an occasional 2 minute period where thereβs no input delay, then it goes back to a 4 second delay. Any help would be appreciated. I have <50, no packet loss, and 13 latency.
Played 3 games tonight, and had all the telltale signs of input lag (players stuck in mud or feeling like they weigh 500 pounds, player switching completely broken, trying to switch players to get to a loose puck but end up randomly passing it to nobody a second later) but the main thing I noticed was my passing was awful. I'd try to throw it across the slot and I'd end up passing it between my D all the way to my own end. I'd go to throw it around the boards and end up putting it on my opponent's stick for a breakaway.
Is this input lag, or should I be changing pass assist? I haven't played for a little over a week so I don't know if something changed or what the heck happened, but this feels awful.
Hi all. Just set up the Steam Link tvOS app and getting a decent picture but a small bit of input lag. My DualShock 3s are connected to the PC and not the Apple TV because they need special drivers. Has anyone managed to avoid input lag this way or does the Link app do something clever to get rid of it that wouldnβt be available to me with them connected to the PC?
Thanks!
Hello,
i love my 3080 Tier so far and it works great on PC and also on mobile phone with my XBOX Controller.
Went all the way and bought a Shield TV Pro for the TV HDR Experience.
Sadly i have noticable Input lag with the Controller of like half a second.
Is there any fix for this?
DS4Windows - Jays2Kings v 1.5.52 input delay 1.51 ms DS4Windows - Ryochan7 v 3.0.18 input delay 7 ms
Haven't done much troubleshooting yet but wondering why the input lag is over 4 times with the new version.
I know a lot of people say that pc mode doesnβt effect the colors, but my eyes disagree. Am I tripping?
I was enjoying the tv, but I just thought the colors on game optimizer mode were a little dull. I guess one thing to consider is it might actually be the fact that Iβm able to run native color gamut outside of PC mode that is causing the better picture, not so much the lack of PC mode itself if that makes sense
So what do you guys think? Have you tried this? Do you think the 1 or 2 ms input lag increase is a fair tradeoff for increased picture?
I am playing on a wired 1 gbit connection and usually have a flat 10 ms latency to the server.
Most of the games are however completely unplayable due to input lag on the order of half a second. Furthermore in these games poke checks do nothing, your AI stands still, you canβt outskate anyone and itβs generally unplayable. I know a lot of you have the exact same problem.
I have a theory of what is going on here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NHLHUT/comments/rcefni/video_there_must_be_some_lag_cheating_going_on/
So! I decided to put the theory to test by playing on a mobile connection (i.e. mobile hotspot to WiFi), and sometimes even sitting on the phone. This resulted in an average ping of 70 ms+ and when sitting on the phone the lag spiked to over a second.
Results:
Conclusion: The game is well optimized for higher pings, and lag compensation seems to exist and makes the game unplayable on fast connections when the opponent has a slow connection. What surprised me is how smooth the game was.
β¦ β¦ β¦
I also tested my theory of lag cheating. Please donβt ban me as I did it to VERIFY if itβs a thing because I want it to be fixed and only by exposing it can it be combated!
I did this by momentarily sitting on my phone in key moments, which generated lag spikes of over a second.
Results:
When I didnβt overdo it
... keep reading on reddit β‘I have tried updating my driver. Uninstalling and reinstalling my driver. Nothing is helping with this weird lag that keeps happening on my laptop. Everytime i use the keyboard its seconds behind whats happening on screen. My mouse works fine and the actual game isnt lagging. Any ideas would be appreciated (other than throwing my laptop away and getting a real pc kekw)
Is the C1 pretty comparable to a gaming laptop input lag? Currently have an msi gs65 with 7ms delay.
I'm confused on how input lag functions in melee. I haven't played much on a crt-tv so I'm curious to see how it compares to melee on a monitor. I also noticed 20XX has a plugin called "faster melee" which I'm also curious how that compares to a crt-tv. Also if there's a way I can make lag/input-lag consistent on every platform that would probably be best since I don't want to go to a local and have to adjust with the lag being better or worse.
I am new to the game and I am still learning so mechanics. I found out about the Double LMB/RMB into crouch RMB or Spear double LMB into dash LMB etc and tried to do it myself. Sometimes it works but sometimes ppl just won't get stunlocked. Like I feel that sometimes there is some input lag when I do the combos. My 3rd attack after Crouch or dash just needs those 0,5 seconds or whatever before they come out. The thing is, that sometimes I can stunlock someone and sometimes not, yet every time someone does those combos vs me I am stunlocked like hell and it feels like their attack come of way faster.
I tried to optimize my speed but when I get to fast, the game will just do double LMB/RMB into focus attack. Like its not accepting my crouch or dash input when I am to fast.
What I wanna know is if that's a problem related to my internet connection (ms are usually around 60 to 70) or if there is any trick or mechanic I am not utilizing? Maybe someone of you can help me, because that's something that rly bothers me.
