A list of puns related to "Hart's Tongue"
The Hartβs Tongue fernβs scientific name is Asplenium scolopendrium, asplenium meaning βbelonging to the spleenwort familyβ and scolopendrium deriving from the Greek skolopendra, meaning millipede or centipede, which the underside of the fronds is supposed to resemble.
It is a small evergreen fern with dark green fronds and is very hardy, it forms clumps with broad, wavy edged leaves and looks entirely different to the usual, frilly plants we think of when asked to picture a fern and is the only native fern with undivided leaves. It is often seen at the foot of dry stone walls and in dark, damp cloughs but also likes moorland gullies, the cracks in between branches in old trees, gaps in boulders and nooks and crannies on old barns where it thrives on the lime leaching out of the mortar and the drips from broken gutters.
It has a very long and noble lineage, fossil records have found it to be over 360 million years old and it is thought to be the proto-fern, or ancestor to more modern species.
The name of the fern; βhartβs tongueβ, also derives from the shape of the leaves supposing to resemble an animal as they vaguely look like the tongue of an adult stag which they do, slightly.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
