A list of puns related to "Gross Vehicle Weight"
For example, I've noticed that a lot of Chinese trucks (from box trucks to tankers) have weight markings on both doors of the driver's compartment showing the Gross Vehicle Weight of the trucks (some common markings are 25,000 kg, 31,000 kg, 40,000 kg, etc), however this feature is rarely seen in North American vehicles.
I think this could help take away the guesswork as for whether or not a truck can safely cross a bridge with a certain posted weight limit, and likewise be helpful for first responders in case of an accident involving such vehicles.
On the side, I'm aware that the maximum weight limit allowed for 18-wheelers in North America is 80,000 lbs (36,287 kg), while some of the Chinese trucks I've seen have markings of 40,000 kg for large transport trucks and 43,000 kg for some of the huge tankers. Is this because of differences related to how North American roads and highways are built, or are there other reasons as well?
Thanks in advance!! Helping a friend whoβs husband is transporting wood products.
Hey guys Iβm at a dead end looking around online so this is last chance before talking to a DOT officer. Iβm driving a Kenworth T880 flat bed double axle rated for 60k. (Also hydraulic hitch not sure if matters). Now Iβve looked everywhere but I canβt find my trucks gross COMBINATION weight rating. If Iβm loaded up and my axles are under their limits can I pull a loaded trailer as well? Hypothetically a 9k trailer pulling about 15k lbs. If all axles are under their limits (truck and trailer) am I alright?
Thanks in advance
I am a pretty new private pilot, have had my certificate for about two months now. I am planning a trip with myself and two other buddies in a couple weeks and I decided to calculate my the weight and balance ahead of time to see if would even be possible. The max weight of my 172P is 2220, I calculated the max gross weight to be 2202. I got a bit worried because thats close. Has anyone had something like that before! Any advice appreciated!
I took a street rider's course the other week and the instructor mentioned gross vehicle weight rating and how a couple he knows lost it on a curve- the husband got away with scrapes but the wife ended up with concussion, broken and collarbone. The rear tire was shredded. They had the bike loaded with camping gear and the guy and woman alone added up to about 600 pounds.
I suck at math, but hopefully I did this correctly. The weight of my Fat Bob is 669.70 as shipped from the factory. The GVWR is 1085. I'm around 230. My bike holds 5 gallons of gas (at 6 lbs per gallon) so I add 30 lbs. I wear a heavy jacket, gloves, boots, and 3 lb helmet so my gear is another 10-15lbs. So all this gives me about 115lbs to safely play with. If I give my wife a ride around the county, I'm definitely over the GVWR.
Seeing as insurance companies are always trying to get out of paying for shit, this seems like the first angle they'd take: How much weight was on the bike?
[Here] (http://www.soundrider.com/archive/safety-skills/motorcycle-gross-vehicle-weight.aspx) is an excellent article written by David Hough which explains it much better than I could without plagiarizing.
I'd really be interested to read your thoughts on this.

Could an actual owner of a 2022 Highlander XLE Hybrid confirm the gross loaded weight of the vehicle as written on the little plaque on the driver side doorframe confirms 6000 lbs?
I recently during lockdown decided to get fit, so I began exercising frequently and learning to cycle. I changed my diet and got fitter in 6-8 months. The health difference is insane! I feel so much lighter and better. As a result, I can wear clothes that fit me nicer- the sad bit is I have to throw away my old clothes.
I also got rid of my hijab in public as I'm not a practicing Muslim. I still wear a mask outside. Two days ago I went shopping for some food, so they were very public streets. I wore some trainers, leggings and a sports crop top with a mask. I honestly didn't think twice about it, especially because my face was covered.
When I walked there on my own I was SO shocked to hear men beeping their horns and whistling at me, I damn near felt like a tool and it grossed me out. Another man when I had my shopping bag tried to call me over, he looked slightly drugged out and I just walked another way on the public road- again I felt my stomach churn. Yet I think the most uncomfortable thing is how much men stare, the level of unsafety I felt then was unreal, just from the stares.
Getting "better" looking, or more attractive to men was actually much worse than I thought.
i've accepted that i need to gain weight BUT i have the constant irrational urge to do it only with high-calorie foods that are super bland or super gross........so that when i hit a healthy, maintainable weight i won't have to cut down on my intake of yummy foods,, because i never upped it in the first place !
does anyone else feel this way too,,,,,going insane besties
Heβs probably used to the posts on F2 and since no one over there ever brings up his weight, he didnβt realize heβs also fat. Definitely bigger than Trish. No worries though, contrary to F2βs believes, itβs not a character flaw to be fat and itβs your business so donβt sweat it Ethan.
Not complaining I love the vehicles, minus some maps feeling a litttle to restricting for any good use.
I feel like if they add a litttle bit of weight to some of them, then they all will feel great.
I personally like them, and have managed to make them work but I do feel like a driving butter stick some times haha.
Howdy
Does anyone know where there might be any information on vehicles carrying stuff?
I can't seem to find any info on the stuff. Basically I'm trying to figure out if vehicles can haul bulk basically? Looking at Experimental Vehicle stuff to make whats basically a.... space trucker haha.
I can't seem to find anything about hauling stuff, or how much it could haul. etc
also wish that mechanic could get shrink object. would be nice for hauling~ and hilarious if you shrink down a power armour for a friend.
EDIT:
https://www.aonsrd.com/VehicleMods.aspx?ItemName=Mk%201&Family=Smuggler%E2%80%99s%20Compartment So far this smuggler compartment seems to be the main raw way to get storage space. Before level 13+ anyway
I can't seem to get a clear answer on if I should balance the tires or not. What are the pros and cons?
Also the tires I'm but saying max speed rated to 87mph, I don't plan on going faster then 75 at times but just curious because Aliner user manual says ST tires are all rated 65mph.
