A list of puns related to "Grinding Wheel"
The car has 85 miles on it. Shortly after leaving the dealership, I noticed a grinding noise coming from the rear driverβs side wheel when applying the brakes. The sound is intermittent so it doesnβt occur with every use of the brakes:
Video of grinding noise when brake engaged
Additionally, thereβs an intermittent scraping noise coming from that same wheel when the vehicle is in motion and the brake is not engaged. It sounds like a pad making contact with part of the rotor as the wheel spins. This noise isnβt present in the video.
No other wheels or brakes make any strange noises.
I requested service with Tesla in Tampa and the first appointment is 3 weeks out. They asked for video of the issue so I submitted the video that I shared above. They responded that the noise is normal for performance brakes. π€
Can any M3P owners confirm that their brakes grind and scrape intermittently?
Iβve owned vehicles with Brembo brakes in the past and, yes, they were loud at times but never like this. π€·πΌββοΈ
(Btw, Iβm loving the car so far! Iβm just not sure I should be driving it much until I can get Tesla to inspect that rear wheel and brake.)
Im sorry guys but i cannot figure out which grinding wheels i should get. What grit(s) do you use and where do you buy them? Thanks in advance!
I've decided that in my impending retirement years, I'd like to pick back up my old lapidary habit. I still have a late 70s/early 80s vintage Beacon Star 8" grinder and Highland Park 10" saw. Looks like I'll need to replace the wheels (grinding and sanding) and possibly one motor. As a new/old re-entrant to the craft, I'm looking for any recommendations on what wheels to source and from where. Any recommendations about motors would also be appreciated. FWIW, I'll build new tables for both through my woodworking hobby, ha. TYIA!
I changed the brake pads cause they were squealing, but the old ones weren't that worn down. The indicators weren't quite exposed.
A little while later I noticed a very faint grinding sound sometimes but chalked it up to the new pads evening out.
Recently the sound has gotten worse and there's sometimes a squealing noise, especially going uphill. It doesn't change when braking, so I figured it's probably bad bearings.
Ignored it for a while, just for small trips to the store or whatever, but today I finally jacked up the truck and first noticed there's no play when I shake the wheel. Then, when I turned the hub it was grinding a little and the pad was rubbing the rotor.
I actually can't get the caliper bolts off, so I'm about to walk to the hardware store for some penetrating fluid and maybe a breaker bar, but now I'm like am I worried about the wrong thing?
Should I spend the day getting the bearings out or am I wasting my time? Should I just shell out for new calipers and MORE new pads? Help!
On my 2008 Raleigh Mojave 4.0 with 1000W rear hub Voilamart kit, suddenly the front wheel will grind the bike to a halt when a bump is hit but can be coaxed out of it if I bang the front tire on the pavement. There is also an intermittent Error 09 code that can be coaxed as well by shutting power on and off on LCD. The issues do not appear to relate in any way, as the grinding to a halt thing seems to come from the front wheel and the kit is rear hub. The only way I can see both issues relating is through hitting bumps. Just looking for ideas on both issues before I consult a local bike shop on what's going on. Thanks!
Is this an abs thing? Rear end is limited slip. Most commonly happens when I'm parked on ice and the tires just spin away. My abs is currently disabled since then and i havent tested it while disabled
