A list of puns related to "Golf Course Design"
More information. The course is mostly wooded with lots of good elevation changes +30ft. What do you hate most/what do you love. Also how can we make it difficult enough but simple enough for local residents to learn/play. Thanks for your input!
Edit: Don't worry y'all, I'm not doing this on my own. I am working with a few people who have designed courses.
Seriously, I can never finish the tournament within the stroke limit because my shots are always hindered by badly placed tornadoes and rocky hills. I feel like the game ramped up the difficulty from 1 to 11 going from the first level to the second, where XC is introduced. Anyone else finding this mode exceedingly difficult?
Looking for a company or individual who contracts out course design work for The Golf Club 2019. Thanks!
While driving down the Atlantic coast, we saw identical roadside mini golf courses hundreds of miles apart. Are there like βmini golf in a boxβ sets for people starting their own courses? Or how does one design and build a course?
Hi all. I may need to add a booking form to a website, and I'm looking for design inspiration. The form would be a relatively simple booking form to place on an existing golf course website. It would allow users to book a day/time to play a round of golf, and the user would select things like desired day, time, number of players, and add-ons (e.g. golf cart, extra balls, etc). Does anyone have suggestions where I can go for inspiration?
I've been asked for this form to be a relatively small form that can popup in the corner of an existing web page, rather than a form that is displayed on a dedicated page.
I've had a look at the following sites, but couldn't find anything of note.
Thanks in advance.
Has anybody taken this class? If so please comment below!
Mine would be a bowl on a difficult green. For example 16 at Augusta. Hit the correct shot and you are set up very nicely for a birdie but if you miss by even a little it makes the next shot incredibly difficult.
I love reachable par 5s but I also believe they slow down pace of play significantly. More often than not you are hitting a fairway wood or long iron into the green on a short par 5 which requires you to wait for the green to clear. Being that most of us are amateurs, when the green clears we let it rip and often miss the green. Then we are chipping up and on which leaves in the same position as if we laid up. So now we are 1 stroke behind pace of play.
What other course designs have you noticed are the antithesis of pace of play?
Hey all, I have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to build a disc golf course in Northern Colorado. My retired parents have recently purchased a 20+Acre Property of which is located about 20 minutes outside of Fort Collins, Colorado. My dad (Disc golfer of 20+ Years) has agreed that I can build a course that is open to the public (reservation only) on this property. I am completely enthralled with the opportunity to do this and would love to hear from you "the disc golf community" about your ideas of which I can ponder over and use to create the best disc golf course possible. Please comment with any ideas you have or things you've seen at your favorite courses that I can draw from to create the best course possible.
Hi! I am interning with a civil engineering company and we are designing a disc golf course for a city in California! I do not know much about the sport and only know the basics of design based on what I've read online, but I am sure there is more nuance to this sport than what can be written on a PDF. Would anyone be available to talk for a few minutes over zoom on how we can make this a fun layout? Thanks!
A little background- I am a second generation farm owner in the PNW with 20 acres that are currently not viable for the berries we grow due to flooding that happens every year during the winter months. I am also a " ball" golf teaching professional so I know how good course design could make or break a golf course.
All that being said I was introduced to the game through a friend that saw the property and mention it could be a cool disc golf course. the property is mostly open with a creek running along the boarder of it. There is areas along the creek bed to places some greens and baskets, but it would be mainly be a open course. I am reaching out to reddit to see if anyone would be interested in hoping on a zoom call to talk course design and how to make a open course fun and unique.
