Georg Eckert Institute has just released its study of Palestinian textbooks, funded by the EU. A few early observations & comments (source: taken directly from Martin Konečný (@MartinKonecny)
The study significantly tempers the exaggerated allegations that Palestinian textbooks promote hatred & violence.
These claims are continually made by Israeli org IMPACT-se & repeated by ideologically aligned orgs & politicians in Europe and the US.
The study says IMPACT-se reports are "marked by generalising and exaggerated conclusions based on methodological shortcomings."
The study concludes "the textbooks adhere to UNESCO standards" and include "a strong focus on human rights" - but also express a narrative of resistance and antagonism to Israel.
(Side remark: Palestinians have been living under Israeli military occupation for 54 years.)
While it identifies problematic examples and biases in the textbooks, it doesn't claim they openly incite hatred and violence. It identified one chapter of islamic education textbook that displays antisemitic motifs - but was positively altered in latest edition.

Previous international studies that looked at both Israeli and Palestinian textbooks, such as a US government-funded study in 2013, found broadly comparable levels of bias, selective historical narratives & omissions of the other side fro
