As a Chinese American with half Fujianese roots, I was always interested in Yang's family history. Found it really cool how he was half Fujianese! Taiwan has a lot of people with Fujian descent who came longer ago, but also a large population whose family came after the Chinese Civil War. There's also a large Hakka population mostly from Guangdong. While the article doesn't have the exact picture, I still found it interesting especially after not hearing these stories during his Presidential run.
By the way, I posted this thread on subreddit NYC and subreddit newyorkcity and kept getting edgy comments on there (one person said "ok", other says identity politcs bad, "Ok so? New barrage of Yang posts isnβt gonna change anyoneβs mind.") Or people who assumed this was common sense when it wasn't as Taiwan is diverse with family ancestry! Even got removed on the subreddit NYC by moderators. Got about 70% downvotes! Subreddits for Andrew Yang and Asian Americans had appreciation though!
Could it deter China from invading Taiwan?
Amazing how sentiment has shifted so fast on Tesla. Have a feeling things are just going to get worse in China for them.
