A list of puns related to "Floodlight"
When it illuminated the survivors, the helicopter opened fire.
Occurred to me as I was looking at two of our constructed Infantry Towers under the night sky. It would be cool if those floodlights acted as Darklight Flashlights and revealed cloaked infiltrators that accidentally ran underneath them. Screenshot below.
What do you all think?
edit: this blew up more than I expected. :) Glad most of you agree!

So I currently have a floodlight that is pretty high up in my back yard. Currently, a light switch turns it on or off and there is no motion sensor on it. I really would like motion detection, dusk to dawn options, and the ability to leave the lights on. I can't seem to find any floodlights (with the exception of the $250 Ring floodlight cam maybe) that do this. The ones that offer this functionality on Amazon require manually hitting a switch (which would require a ladder). Ring does have a wired smart floodlight but apparently there isn't an 'always on' option for it. So I feel like I have two options:
Purchase the Ring Floodlight Cam for $250 which offers all of these features (I think).
Install a smart switch for the floodlight, use HomeAssistant timers and a separate camera/motion sensor for motion detection. However, I would use a Caseta switch and would a dimmer switch work to control a floodlight properly?
Any other thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Or maybe someone can tell me that the Ring Smart Lighting floodlight does let you keep lights on permanently thought the app.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I bought a house and it already had a ring doorbell camera and two floodlight cameras. I was able to connect the doorbell pretty easy. I tried to connect the floodlights but it is telling me to scan the code on the back. The problem with that is they are already mounted and I would have to remove them to scan the code. Is there an easier way? Can I connect them to the app without removing them? Any help would be great thanks!

As the title says I'm looking for a IR floodlight or IR illuminator to supplement my cameras, specifically the one by the street. The main reason is to make plates visible at light. Right now they're just reflection blowout. Any recommendation or alternative solve?
I just got the 2k floodlight. I am often not around and it'd be easy for someone to unmount it and run away.
What are some other security measures that I can put in place?
Also can I automate uploading videos to a cloud service like google drive or my Nas?
Thanks
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the helpful responses regarding my Hikvision question yesterday.
I'm looking for a Power over Ethernet camera, that's readily available from a brand with a reasonable level of quality, that triggers an attached floodlight on movement, either PIR (I know it's unreliable) or image detection/border recognition (forget the correct name).
Does one exist?
I haven't had much luck other than the generic no-name ones on Amazon.
Am I right in thinking one doesn't exist because the triggering of the light will cause the camera to switch from night mode to day mode and some of the visibility(range+clarity) will be lost?
Not to mention the instant whiteout for a second as soon as the light flicks on, and the delay while the camera switches from the IR to the colour sensor?
Open to any suggestions as this is for a new system and doesn't have to integrate with any currently installed system/manufacturer.
Ideally brands that are readily available to businesses (not necessarily installers) in Europe, or at least Globally, but open to any options really.
Hope someone can help, thanks.
I have two Pro 3 Floodlight cams and want to set notifications and recording of those events during the night. Can I do this without a subscription? I'm seeing conflicting information when searching for the answer.
Can't seem to find motion frequency setting on either of these devices.
I suspect they are hidden because I have some other setting turned on? Any ideas here?
Hi, couple questions:
How adjustable is the camera range of motion? I am going to mount it to a wall and want it to cover a sidewalk that runs right next to the wall. So I'd need to be able to crank the camera unit pretty much 90 degrees to the left, otherwise I'll only get a limited amount of usable coverage probably.
It has a siren. Can this siren be integrated into a ring alarm system? So that if the house ring alarm goes off, this one will as well?
I am looking for floodlight cameras for driveway and backyard, work with Homekit.Spent a lot of time, still can make the decision.
Criteria:
My list:
Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight camera $330
Eufy Floodlight camera $300
Netatmo Smart Outdoor Camera $378
Ring Floodlight camera $330
My best choice seems to be Netatmo & Arlo (if I all-in Arlo indoor cams)
Please advise, Thanks
Eufy Security's Floodlight Camera 2K is currently on sale for just $175.99 with code EUFY2K2K.
