Many of the fragheads on this sub seem to have accepted flankers as a rite of passage for pretty much all mass market (read: non-niche) fragrances, particularly the popular ones.
Sure there are likely commercial cases that have been made to launch frags that may fill market gaps or float new note/accord concepts. Feels like the least amount of launch friction, coupled with the max amount of expense capping, can be achieved by slapping on a [modestly] new narrative on an existing base.
But at what point should a house or designer draw the line and say, enough is enough?
Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle has ~22 flankers if my memory serves me right. Boss Bottled has about 18 or so & Boss The Scent so far is at 13 last time I checked. I mean, at some point even a series of short stories starts to feel like an A380 flight manual.
My gripe also extends to our faves that decide their best idea is to reissue (obviously different) fragrances WITH THE SAME NAME and then possibly distinguish them by inserting the year of launch (and sometimes not). I am glaring at you, Dior Homme.
Are there other examples of ‘abusive’ line extensions?
If channel remains consistent with the channel releases, this year could be the year for another flanker. they have released a Bleu de channel fragrance every 4 years, since the edt release.

Whenever i play as a flanker, i always confuse in these situations:

Who must i prioritise to kill first? Whether their support or damage or their flanker?

Is it i need to protect my support and damage from their flanker? Is i need to kill their flanker to secure my support?

Who actually need to protect support or support need to protect himself?

In some gameplay, why i see the flanker doesn’t flank their backline but just focussing kill their tank?
The match was Rialto and I was playing Orisa with a sigma, Genji, McCree, Moira and Mercy. Mid gold. We were defending and were doing a good job of holding the payload at the first bridge but the enemy road hog kept flanking and taking out our Moira and sometimes Mercy.
Sigma and I were preoccupied with holding the payload and all of a sudden Moira joined VC and started flaming the DPS telling them to take care of the hog. I stayed quiet because I don’t like confrontation but the Genji told her that if she switched to Ana it wouldn’t be a problem. She said she has bad aim which is why she’s playing Moira. They argued for the rest of the round about who should be dealing with the Hog and Mercy + sigma were firmly backing the Moira. In the end we lost because Genji threw after everyone turned against him and the teamwork dissolved due to the arguing but I didn’t care because I was so uncomfortable and just wanted out of the game.
I would’ve assumed McCree should protect the supports from flankers because of his cc ability but he didn’t speak once and made no effort to help the Moira
