A list of puns related to "Seamer"
Hey gang, me again. Still finalizing my filling machine, and still looking at how I can integrate a seamer. I have experience with Dixie, and while I love their machine personally, they are pricey. The oktober is going to be hard to integrate just based on the design, but I have zero experience with All American and Iโd love to hear some firsthand accounts from any of yโall.
What are you small-scale brewers using to get into canning?
I'm talking about the breweries who can't afford a big canning line but still do 12 or 16 oz cans. For this conversation, forget mobile canning or larger crowler cans.
I know this question is asked every few months but with CBC happening last week, I'm hoping there are new solutions out there - thanks!
I could honestly go a whole game without even using it once. Usually if I do use it, it doesnโt break and just seems to float there and then itโs crushed. It could be a really good pitch if they made it better I think
You know the kind - Scott Styris, Craig McMillan, Paul Collingwood, Dwayne Smith, Andrew Symonds etc. Not exactly a 10 over bowler but expected to bowl economically and give the primary bowlers some rest. What changed that completely ruled them out of the modern game?
The England approach of going hard all the way through?
Or the pitches?
Or the two new balls?
Or the ever changing powerplay rules?
Or the common scapegoat, big bats and small boundaries?
Or were they all just a bit shit and got far too much credit than they deserved?
Edit: I want to make a quick note to clarify something. In no way is this an anti-Scherzer post, but I can see how it would read that way. Scherzer was just the most high-profile person involved in the substance check policy thus far, so I chose him as a pitcher to look at. I doubt his case is outside the norm in any way.
In games prior to yesterday's, Scherzer's release spin rate on his 4-seam fastball averaged 2481 RPM, with a standard deviation of 97.57 RPM. Yesterday, his average was all the way down to 2348 RPM. This equates to a full 1.36 standard deviation decrease from his season average. That is quite substantial.
Only 5% of the fastballs he threw prior to yesterday had a lower spin rate than yesterday's average.
I haven't dug into many more players' numbers yet (I intend to), but I assume this is not anomalous. This crackdown is likely to have a very big effect.
