The Soviets liberated the Norwegian county of Finnmark at the conclusion of the second World War. Why did they let the Norwegians have it back as opposed to what they did with Bessarabia/Moldova? They were in total control of the area. Finnmark could be strategically important for access to the Barents Sea and would give them plenty opportunity to establish more ice free ports. So why?
Hello, I'm a self-employed person from Italy looking to move to Norway.
In this case, I'd be looking at the Nord-Troms og Finnmark region.
The reason for this is because I did some research and I discovered that the government is incentivizing people to move there by offering lower tax rates and stuff like that.
However, I still have some doubts about mixed information I found and that's why I'm here asking for your help.
First, I've read that if you open a business in said region you don't only pay lower taxes, but are also exempt from employer taxes. Is that how it works? Can you apply for that even if you don't open a physical business and just work on the internet (as self-employed)?
Second, are there further incentives that I'm not aware of or that would be worth noting?
