A list of puns related to "Fechner"
Is there any physiological theory(not the evolutionary one) that explains it?

Great job Mr Fechner, I like your design :)
I don't know if this is allowed but this! is the wikipedia page to the two laws mentioned. (the math section is pretty short) I'll ask questions related to the math section in the wikipedia page, I would appreciate it so much if anyone could quickly skim through it and help me.
I roughly understand how the Weber law is integrated to give the Fechner law. However, I don't understand why it needs to be integrated.
The part I don't get the most is how Weber's contrast is formulated. In Weber's law, (JND)dS/S = constant. However, in Weber's contrast below, dS/S = dp. Isn't dp a change in perception? Is the change in perception just a constant? If yes, why? Furthermore, in the (Deriving Fechner's Law) section below where they start integrating, it's written as (k)(dS/S) = dp. Where did the constant k come from? I thought that dS/S = constant k ?
I have looked at multiple other sources than Wikipedia on these laws, but Wikipedia has the most detail when it comes to mathematical formulation, and derivation of Fechner's law.
I am really stuck on this and it is stressing me out, because I need to write a report on this (it's too late to change the topic now). Once again, I would appreciate it so so much if anyone could take a bit of time out and lend me a helping hand.
This semester I was in Professor Fechner's GM 170 (Strategic management) class and was really enjoying it. His teaching style was to use his business connections and bring in experienced business professionals to talk to us about their experiences. We had the CDO of Mikuni Taro Arai, the former CEO of VSP Roger Valine, and a corporate strategist come and talk to our class. This was great as it allowed me to relate our class to the actual business world. Fechnerβs business connections made the class one of the best that I have taken at Sac State.
I will say that the homework was annoying as Fechner would just throw random terms into the questions. However, when I look back I can see that this helped me become more independent as I would use google or the CSUS library to find information. From there I would analyze it for the homework. This just ties into fact that the class is based on preparing us for the real world. And while I did not appreciate it at the moment I certainly appreciate it now.
Unfortunately, he got sick and was replaced halfway through the semester. The class was not very good after this and it reinforced just how lucky I was to have Fechner as a professor. I will honestly not forget the guest speakers as they were all relatable and gave us advice that would help us in the future. Do any of you feel like this about any other Sac State professors?
So, I was reading about this concept and seems like there's a math formula there (a log function) do we need to know this for psych? I know there has been some Weber's law math (very simple) on some practice material but haven't seen any from Fechne's. Thanks.
if I increased the R, G and B value of some pixels evenly, would this be perceived as linear?
Do your worst!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
Theyβre on standbi
Pilot on me!!
