A list of puns related to "Lachmann"
Hey, who has done the Lachmann Test after Surgery? What were your results?
For those who don't know the test, it's a movement test of the knee performed to identify the integrity of the anterior cruciate ligament.
Mine were 4mm for the "healthy" knee and 9mm for the injured knee 9 months after surgery. Pretty bad. Need to make another MRI to check what's happened to my hamstring.
Hi, Iβm Lyn Miller-Lachmann, the author of three young adult novels, most recently Surviving Santiago, published by Running Press, and a translator from Portuguese and Spanish to English.
Surviving Santiago is the long-awaited companion to my award-winning novel Gringolandia, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. In Surviving Santiago, 16-year-old Tina travels to Chile, a country she hasnβt seen in more than eight years, to visit her father, who she hasnβt seen in a long time either. The year is 1989, and a brutal dictator is about to give up power, so itβs the last chance for his supporters to settle scores against the activists like Tinaβs father who helped to end the regime. Tina hopes to spend time with her father, but he is wrapped up in politics and drinks heavily as a result of being imprisoned and tortured under the dictatorship. Bored and lonely, she falls hard for Frankie, a local boy with a motorcycle, a shared interest in heavy metal music, and an alcoholic father. But Frankie has his own agendas and secrets, and the two of them are in more danger than they think.
I used to be the editor of MultiCultural Review and am currently a Team Member of We Need Diverse Books. I am particularly interested in immigration, stories set in other countries, and characters with disabilities. My other YA novel, Rogue, features a protagonist who, like me, has Aspergerβs syndrome.
This April, my first translated picture book from Portuguese to English, The World in a Second, came out, and I am hard at work on three other translations.
Please feel free to ask me anything about my books, diversity, writing, and translation. Or LEGO photography, which is a hobby I show off on my blog and Instagram. Iβll be around pretty much all day.
