I’m picking up my guinea pigs on Tuesday from a caviary, she said one of my pigs has facial hair loss that she believes is caused by fungus. My cage separates into two individual cages so he doesn’t spread it to the other one, but is there anything else I should do? She said it’s common with baby pigs and that I just need to wait a few weeks for the skin to come off and his hair to regrow. Should I buy any sort of spray or cream or something for his face or just wait it out? I’m ok with bringing him to the vet if you guys think it’s urgent. I just don’t want to stress him out and spend money if it’s a really normal thing that you just gotta wait out yknow? Like when your dog has a tummy ache and you feed him pumpkin and then he’s ok.
I’ve tried a handful of wonderful suggestions from this sub when it comes to fungus gnats like sticky traps, sprinkling BTI before watering, and replacing the top 2 inches of soil on the plants generating the most gnats. Is there anything else that I can do?
I should note that when I removed the top 2 inches of soil, the soil underneath was still very damp. It seems clear I’m either overwatering and/or these plants don’t have great drainage.
I’m wondering if I’ll just have to repot the worst offenders but curious if there are other approaches I’m not aware of? As anyone with this problem knows, this shit sucks but I won’t go down without a fight!
It has been 23 days since I was tested positive. I was admitted to the hospital on day one, right when I got Covid positive results. The hospital I was in had little to no hygiene because everyone shared single steam vaporizer.
I was given 3 dozes of 8mg Dexamethasone (A steroid) on day one before I was discharged from the hospital 2 days later since my O2 level never dropped below 97-98 and never had fever while I was admitted.
I'm 20 years old and don't have diabetes or any issue related to Immunodeficiency. Is there's a possibility of me getting this fungus even though I have no Covid symptoms left and i'm currently healthy. (still haven't done RT-PCR Test again though because on day 14-15 I was back to normal health, no fatigue and I never got fever ever since).
After hearing about this fungus on news I became extremely paranoid and started to look it's symptoms on my body. My situation has become so worse that I check my face every hour hours for swelling.
curious as i am starting on cpyro next week and an just wondering how long shrinkage and reduced body hair takes to set in. tia
