Iโve just started trying to learn all my scales on the piano. In the book Iโm using I play the same note an octave apart form the first two bars, but then it switches to playing D with F, E with G etc. Before returning to the octave for final two bars.
Why should I be learning scales in this way? The book is David Carr Gloverโs Scale Book.
If anyone has any better/ other resources or methods (any apps??) to learn all the scales and major and minor chords in each scale that would also be very welcome.

I guess it's possible to do 5 3 2 1 with enough stretches but what would be the most preferred one? I find the jumps really difficult with the ones I try.
