A list of puns related to "Grand Stave"
"Try to separate a man from his soul. You'll only strengthen him, and lose your own."
Hello once again, my beautiful dipshits! I find myself in a type-y mood this evening, so I might as well put it towards a bit more confirmation bias. But this wont be all feel-good vibes. I've gotta hit you with some realness as well, and I hope you'll be receptive to it. But first, a little more of that yeezus juice for your veins:
You aren't market manipulators, gamblers, a "cult", or any other form of bullshit MSM or the shorts would have you believe. In fact, they're all holding back smirks as they try to paint you as the culprit when they'd do the exact same in your place. In fact, I'll wager one mooned GME share that Melissa Lee and friends are all long on this bitch. You've made arguably the most intelligent single play in market history, followed closely by the shorting of the British pound. And it fucking infuriates them. You little plebs from all walks of life, with your imperfect information, your memes, and....ugh, your HOPE. Disgusting.
How could you possibly have found, understood, and capitalized on a decade's worth of education in a matter of months? How could you be holding through the wildest swings and the most extensive fraud the market has ever seen, defying "economic fundamentals" the whole way? As popular as behavioral economics have become in recent years, this is still unprecedented behavior. What good is buying "one more day" when the end result will ALWAYS be the same? How is it possible that NOTHING has an effect on diamond hands?!?!
They've never understood, and never will. They haven't been through what you have. To them, the American Dream is still very much alive. How couldn't it be, when it was handed to them on a silver platter at birth? It takes a special kind of idiot to shirk your birthright, your easy path to easy paydays. To allow the shame and regret of what you're a part of wash over you completely and drive you down another path, rather than bottling it up and hoping it doesn't eventually kill you.
*waves*
To John Q Public, the American Dream is dead, and has been for some time. As I've said before, the proletariat is only complacent until they're not. History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme. This boom/bust cycle has become steadily and steadily more egregious and offensive each iteration. And as wonderful wrinkly fuckers like /u/dlauer, /u/criand, and /u/atobitt have pointed out, this situation runs SO
... keep reading on reddit β‘Religious and spiritual beliefs are a defence against the often painful and anxiety provoking realities of existing as human beings. These anxiety provoking topics are four existential givens. They are the four basic fundamental truths of human existence: Death, meaninglessness, isolation and freedom.
Death
Weβre all going to die, and we know it. This is, for almost everyone, a source of significant anxiety. Weβve evolved with two basic responses to danger, we punch it, or we run from it. We have a pretty extensive understanding of this fight or flight mechanism and the associated anxiety effectively serves the function of keeping us alive most of the time. Of course we canβt run from death and we canβt punch it. If we can be certain of anything in life itβs that death will get us all in the end.
Itβs obvious how most religions address this anxiety: Denial, immortality, reincarnation. You put in a little effort, you go to church, you pray, have faith, and you can content yourself with the belief that death is not the end.
Meaninglessness
Life does not have a meaning. There is no grand cosmic plan. We are born, we live, we die. As intelligent animals we constantly search for explanations, we have an instinctive desire to know why. Why does lightning strike, why is the fire hot, why is the sky blue. But thereβs are some answers we canβt find: why are we here. It may make no sense to even ask why, but we do anyway, hoping thereβs some reason for it all. But the universe remains silent.
We are meaning making creatures and we canβt help but find things to which we can assign meaning: family, work, hobbies, experiences. But part of us feels, deep down, that this isnβt βrealβ, we know meaning is just a property we attribute to things and somehow thatβs never quite satisfying enough to stave off the anxiety of meaninglessness.
But hereβs religion again to put your mind at ease. You may not be in on the grand cosmic plan but donβt worry, there is one, and god knows what it is. When things donβt make sense you donβt need to think too much about it because itβs all part of a plan and if thereβs a plan then there must be some purpose to it. Thanks to religion we can content ourselves with the belief that at least something out there knows what the point of all this is.
Isolation
We are all islands. I know my own mind, I have my own thoughts and experience things in my own personal way. I assume you do as well. But I can never really know you i

##My Thoughts
You will probably want to ignore my feedback and blabbering - so scroll down until you see 'Updates'
I did one of these a few years ago, and I thought it'd be fun to do another with an updated list of forgotten, cancelled, previously suggested, highly polled, confirmed, shelved, popular, etc. content. Not everything here was 'promised' and, again, some of these updates are definitely cancelled. It's quite cheeky of me to refer to all of these as 'unfinished business'. But an unfortunate, and almost unbelievable, proportion of it was promised. The majority of it we have no idea whatsoever about. Each year Jagex has decided to knuckle down even harder on the 'we've made mistakes in the past, but this time we really promise' tagline. The problem is that when the inevitable happens - Jagex will lose support amongst the playerbase. I have no doubt that once we reach the Winter months, the same promises and optimistic prose will be published to the community once again.
There's no way all of this could ever be released, nor is it reasonable to expect it to be. At least not within any short frame of time. But, it'd be nice for Jagex to begin to making some headway on these projects. It's entirely baffling to me that Jagex polled so many ideas between 2017 and 2019 - and yet almost none of them have been made. Not a single one from the 2019 poll, and only one or two from the 2018 polls. I haven't even added every poll to this list (RuneFest 2018 poll results, Dag King poll, 2017 polls, etc). What's even worse, to me, is how important many of these are. Things that should really have been prioritised many years ago, nevermind a decade later in some cases.
The new and shiny updates are always going to be super exciting. I'd love nothing more than Raids 2, another difficult Grandmaster Quest, or a Player Owned Town. But what I take the most issue with is the lack of care for the integrity of the game. The reworks, the core issues which remain entirely unresolved, the outdated content and areas. It's great to see a Vannaka moved to Edgeville bank, a new level 1 Slayer master added to Lumbridge, a few new Lunar spells, Shattered Worlds to be given minibosses which can't really be differentiated from regular mobs - without adding any new rewards, the hi-scores, etc. However, none of these deal with many

Because of medical issues including a cancer diagnosis in my early thirties and infertility treatments for recurrent miscarriage, I worked part time for four years. After DS was born, I didnβt return to work until he was 4. The plan was to return to work in 2 years, but DH was recruited for a job overseas. Luckily, I was hired by the same company 2 months after arriving and after waiting a year for a work visa, worked full time the remaining time we lived overseas. All of our accounts other than individual retirement accounts are joint accounts. We consider all of our income and assets as a single pot that belongs to us both.
Numbers below are rounded. Section One: Assets & Debt

Now, some of the near term issues exacerbated by climate change are beginning to materialise - water access, rising sea levels, and extreme weather. All of these stories were reported in the last couple of weeks. Climate change is real and it's here today.
To combat this hyperobject society must fundamentally change, and this is where I think a lot of people get disenfranchised - it comes at great cost. We must stop emitting carbon dioxide and a myriad of other greenhouse gases immediately. This issue penetrates every facet of society - we have to change practically everything we do.
But with an uptrend in the release of methane through melting permafrost it might already be too late. To stave off the worst effects of climate change we may need to sequester greenhouse gasses already released into the atmosphere to keep us from passing tipping points we may have already started to pass, using technology which hasn't yet been invented. This is an insane situation; sequestering greenhouse gasses is analogous to burning a fire and trying to capture the smoke - we can't do this cheaply or at scale with current technology.
What's perhaps more incredulous is our collective response to what's happening. We continue to dig for oil and make new discoveries, we continue to emit greenhouse gasses, we continue to deny, delay, and distract from the most important issue we have ever faced as a species. Your average Joe is probably aware of the concept of climate change, but, like many of us I suspect at some point, considered this issue to be one for the grand-kids or not as great a threat to humanity as it is likely to be. This company is pretty much the cap of what you can make working in residential as direct care staff for people with disabilities. (EDIT: if you're here to learn about RRPs, feel free to ignore the last 2 sections)
The Federal Reserve, The Fed as itβs commonly referred to, is the US Central Banking institution. Without getting too much into the history of banking both in the USA and globally, a national central bank was always advocated for, but never fully successfully implemented, dating all the way back to the Revolutionary War.
The modern day Fed got its start in 1913 via the Federal Reserve Act, singed into law by President Wilson on Christmas Eve. Prompted by consistent financial instability, and specifically the Panic of 1907, Senator Aldrich gathered a group of financial experts (essentially the richest American businessmen at the time) out on a small island off the coast of Georgia, to come up with a solution that later became the basis for the Federal Reserve Act. The Act stipulated the creation of a system of private and public entities that would help manage the monetary supply of a national US currency. Essentially, an institution that existed within the boundaries of the Federal Government, but was not beholden to public scrutiny.
The Fed has since had a tumultuous, yet ultimately prosperous journey over the years. A number of various regulations, Acts, and reforms have shaped the Fed into what it is today. Currently operating across 12 Central Banks, the Federal Reserve System works with the US Treasury Department and federal legislators to oversee the monetary policies of the US economy. There are similar Central Banks around the world, as well as a number of decentralized global institutions such as the IMF.
The Fed manages this monetary policy through Open Market Operations, managing the supply of reserves in the banking system, influencing interest rates and the supply of credit. These operations can be simplified into two categories with opposite objectives:

Beyond the inexplicable limit of his calm self was a raging hurricane of emotion. He could stand on the precipice, and peer down into the abyss, only superficially aware of the terror that awaited him should he take one step further. It was Chaos. It was everything and nothing, simultaneously; it was the wreckage of his life and his love for what once was. It was every dream β every hope β he once selfishly and jealously guarded, now screaming and falling apart.
Because he couldnβt stand the sight of an advertisement.
Once again, Fubuki Heavy Industries had ruined him. Even though he knew that this was not true, his irrational hatred only grew stronger. Even though he was aware of how irrational it was, somehow, that only made it more justified.
Was it Fubuki Heavy Industriesβ fault that he was here? Infallible AI; immaculate manufacturing; impossible accidents. No. In all likelihood, Fubuki Heavy Industries had nothing to do with his accident β they just manufactured the APV.
Perhaps in Arenβs mind, Fubuki Heavy Industries represented the true culprit behind his cruel fate. It was the face of his villain, but not his villainβs identity. It was a stand-in, so to speak, β a cardboard cut-out β of the vile and terrorizing entity that shattered his life.
Aren walked for what felt like hours. To him, at least. Here, on the precipice, the perception of time was warped. Reason and logic themselves were warped. He tried not to think about anything. He tried to think about the road in front of him, the literal road, and perhaps even wondered about the mechanics and the workload required to pave it with stone like this. It was the Kingβs Highway, after all. Countless caravans passed over this road each day, carrying goods, frontier refugees, and other types of cargo. Merchants, mostly, used the Kingβs Highway β or Kingβs Road as it was often called in the modern times.
The reason why it stopped being a highway in recent memory was because the world was smaller. In the golden age of Singularity, alliances pushed the borders of the unknown back. And when those alliances declined, and the sharp spike in difficulty discouraged the geniuses of

Understand options is important for understanding trends, sentiment and where prices should go. Being able to read and understand the options chain is important. I use several tools at my disposal. As the archaeology team in front of MAXINE stared dumbfounded, painful and anxious milliseconds passed like eons in the AIβs mind as they processed what she said. Flashing through her artificial mind was the ongoing decree to protect - to PROTECT - to defend - to hide. Becomes Diabolical Storm when used by a Necrotic Staff. When morphed into Diabolical Rage, its bonus effect with a Necrotic Staff fears opponents for 4 seconds with the first tick and afflicts them with Major Vulnerability while they stay within it, increasing their damage taken by 10%.
Force Shock
Flame, Frost and Shock damage dealt is reduced by 8% each, but it now also deals an equal portion of raw magic damage. When morphed to Force Pulse, it also deals AoE damage to enemies near the target if they're affected by a damage over time effect.
Wall of Elements
The Necrotic Staff's effect as Wall of Darkness inflicts Minor Maim on enemies affected by the wall. If they're affected by a damage over time effect, it also fears them for 2 seconds.
Destructive Touch morph: Destructive Clench
Instead of converting damage over time to a new effect, as Ravaging Clench the damage over time can now stack, similarly to the Warden class' Cutting Dive ability.
Weakness to Elements
No changes.
Impulse
No changes.
Tri-Focus
Fully charged Necrotic Staff heavy attacks now leave a damage over time effect that deals 300/600 Oblivion Damage every second for 5 seconds.
Penetrating Magic
No change.
Elemental Force
Now also raises the chance to apply the Overcharged status effect by 50%/100%.
Ancient Knowledge
Necrotic Staff increases your damage over time dealt by 4%/8%, and increases the dam

We've been dating for about three and a half years now. When we first started dating sex was on the table at least once per day. We would go down on each other, steal some sneaky gropes in public, and we even did anal a good few times which we both loved. She never had a very active role in sex itself; definitely a bit of a "pillow princess", and she also makes very very little if any noise (both things I wish would change tbh), but she made me feel desired enough outside of the bedroom that it wasn't really a problem at the time because my sexual needs were being met, and I felt loved and wanted. And I love the ever-loving hell out of her. She's basically my best and only real friend. I love her so much. I love seeing her smile and she makes me laugh like no other woman has.
But ever since we moved in together shit started to get rocky. When we met, I was going to school full-time on the GI Bill and pulling in pretty decent money for not having a job; we live in Los Angeles so I was getting 2.5-3k untaxed per month just to attend school. Once I graduated though, there was definitely some financial struggles. I work in film/tv sound, and while I still have to hustle to get work, I now get consistent enough work to help out with our finances. But things were very difficult when I had just graduated in mid-2018... She said at the time it's fine, she'll pull us through until I can get on my feet. But after not even a full year of working in my career, it was basically slammed to a halt because of COVID-19 the following year. Thank fucking god they opened up unemployment to freelancers in California.
Last year was just fucking awful. So many fights. So many tears. So many horrible things said. And I just felt powerless. She has the master's degree, she has the union salaried w/ benefits job, she has the apartment in her name, she has total control. She broke up with about once every month or two and would say things like "my life would be better without you, I wouldn't have money troubles and I'd only have to worry about my own happiness, and I wouldn't have to worry about sex" Needless to say I've likely been traumatized by the experience.
I mean I get it. I felt like the bum I definitely was. Nobody was more aware about how pathetic I was than me. I did my best to help out and

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.
If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,
A Dad.

SUMMARY
An avian alien known as an 'Olympian' tells a friend their most memorable tale of a human, with slight allusions to the greater setting as a whole. It's the tale of defiance, and of a timeless hymn from a timeless man whose voice rose right out of the ground.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, yes, we've been following them for the better part of their entire existence.
Call it whatever, we swore an Oath to their predecessors, and we took it as the closest thing to Holy we have as a people. We watched as they were born. Even had a faction decide to send somebody down and teach them about democracy. Ironic, it was, that their planet had analogues to us. 'Eagles' they call them. They put their eagles on coins!
But despite our long-standing history of watching them, forming a border-state around a cleared sector of space for them, and our rare luck in surviving that awful god-machine they put out that exterminated at least fourteen empires before its capture by the Proktari God-Emperor, I have to tell you of a personal account. Do you remember the First Contact Skirmish? I know your people had a different name for it, something like 'Olympian-Human-Proktari Border Dispute,' or something, but I tell you it was a three-way bar-brawl that we pretty up with names like that. This isn't that story, but I can tell you that one later, to provide context for this story.
Humans are strange creatures: they figured out psionics in ways species like yours and mine wish we could have done before them. Natural disasters, kinetic forces, the very minds of sapients, they can use them almost on par with Proktari! They also have cybernetics, some have nearly entirely become machines. Even with these, however, they have purists as well who refuse both and are somehow stronger for it. But I'll tell you of one I met, a few months back, that showed me why Humans are the first contenders we've ever had for the Proktari and their God-Emperor.
It was a calm outpost, a border colony we shared with the Humans, the embassy was built in the center of the colony. We enjoy the idea of icy, mountainous planets, and humans genetically enjoy more continental ones, but these people came to our most recent colony with thick clothing lined in artificial furs and said it was 'just like home.' One family was my neighbor, but when they left for leisurely vacations to more comfortable climes, they had a cousin of some sort come to hold
... keep reading on reddit β‘In the early experimental days of Dreamweight, back in 2017, Outlier released a flowy, hooded piece called Unfinished Nothing. It offers light and breathable thermoregulation, significant sun protection, and the opportunity to dance around the house like a possessed dementor.
Without any sleeves or explicitly-defined torso section, the form of this piece falls somewhere between hooded poncho and top sheet. The overall concept/pattern is similar to Beach Thing (Unfinished Nothing measures just slightly smaller at 45.5β x 38.5β vs. Beach Thingβs 48β x 39β). While standing, with the right arm placement, this should cover the upper body with plenty of overlap, but I especially like how the generous helping of fabric and flexibility of form can be arranged to cover all or most of the body when sitting down on the ground. I could see this coming in handy for picnics or other outdoor hangouts (if this piece ever returns, a lighter or more playful color option might be even better suited for this occasion, depending on your angle/vibe).
Temperature-wise, Deamweight is airy and breathable in heat (particularly in dry heat) and still comes in handy for staving off a mild chill when the weather/season starts to turn. The super free and open cut of this piece makes it especially well-suited for hot, sunny days.
The sun protection of Dreamweight most recently clocked in at UPF 25, but is likely higher after washing. However you slice it, this piece offers significant sun protectionβ markedly more than Grid Linenβs already respectable UPF 15, while also being close to half the weight (105 gsm for this experiment, 110 gsm for the current generation of Dreamweight vs. Grid Linenβs 200 gsm). The Dreamwight should also pack down really efficiently, which would be nice for use as a packable pseudo-poncho. The main advantages of the Beach Thing would be absorption for toweling off, durability, and sand-shedding (although I canβt say Iβve tested Dreamweight for that yet).
Although the two forms are undeniably similar, they seem to arrive at that juncture via opposite paths: Beach Thing feels like a towel thatβs made wearable, while Unfinished Nothing seems like a Dreamweight garment reduced to one of its most basic possible form
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi all,
I've joined a local 40K league and originally my plan was to use Chaos soup but with the new GK codex on the way and knowing there's no new units and no radical points changes, I think it's fairly certain a lot of the stuff won't change significantly in terms of stat lines (e.g. Strike squads will be 2W, but storm bolters are still storm bolters, I will probably have a heavy psychic phase etc).
Therefore the idea here is to build a list that works well (as well as can be anyway) now, and get some games in before the new codex is released. The league only lasts for 8 weeks so I'm expecting to basically use the codex for at least half the games in the league if not the entire thing (depending on GW release schedule).
I will be playing against Sisters, Ad Mech, and Space Marines, but I'm not tailoring my list to them, I want a TAC list. That being said I've tried to think about how to answer each of the armies and advice on what to look out for for sisters and Ad Mech in particular would be useful.
The core concept of the list is to use two big terminator blobs, a GMDK, and cheese 2++ purifiers to control the middle of the board, and generally go for a combination of Stranglehold and Retrieve Octarius Data (which my Interceptors can get easily as they can not only move fast but redeploy twice a game). Where the mission requires it, I can swap in Engage on All Fronts and Raise the Banners, the latter thanks to having three units that aren't that offensive and I don't mind losing their shooting (small squad of servitors, a strike squad, and the purifiers).
The third objective can be Warp Ritual, Pierce the Veil, No Prisoners, Titan Slayer, Bring It Down, or Assassinate depending on mission and opponent.
The strike squad theoretically can deep strike but since they are the source of Gate to throw Terminators somewhere turn 1 (potentially) they need to remain on the board. Interceptors likewise are so fast the deep strike isn't really needed, and the GMDK can get to the centre of the board with Edict Imperator pretty much turn 1. As a result everything actually starts on the board.
I've also kept it all in a single battalion as this army is super CP hungry and I'm loathe to spend anymore than I have to pre-game.
Finally I went with Terminators over Paladins because the main thing the blobs need to do is survive, and while the Paladins have more wounds, they also cost about 50% more for 33% more wounds. I

So many people have asked me what items would be value for low level duels and what to save and what to throw away, so here is a write-up of what items the lld-community want's you to keep ;) But this post is not only aimed at regular people - it is aimed at the loot filter writers, to hopefully make you add in an LLD-tag (and mark it with 9 / 18 / 30). If any loot filter want to work together with me feel free pming me, Details can be found in the bottom of the post. The LLD-community is highly alive and the gear for clvl 30 costs many HR. These are not cheap items! :) The best rogues bow on ladder recently sold for 25 HR. Heading to a 3 round local tournament this weekend and trying to optimize my list. I'm limited by the models I have and i do wish to stay focused on big choppy beasts being the core of my army. Overall strategy is to turn 1 charge disco lord, then charge in everything else in quick succession while my marines secure mid table objectives. Abaddie, termites, oblits, and Raptors deepstrike in and crack tough nuts or sweep back field objectives. Unsure what local meta is because this is the first tournament in my area since the great plague.

If a crew has done the tale at all before you get there, you are locked out of the top room with the staves, as well as lock you out of the boat ascent. The checkpoint where you spawn with a siren heart also doesnβt work, as you canβt interact with the statues anyways. Please for the love of god play test the game.
