A list of puns related to "Euclidean Geometry"
I recently saw this meme and thought it would be cool if there were some more paintings depicting curved geometry in such a manner (maybe more pronouncedly and/or creatively). Can anyone help me find out if there is indeed such a painting?
Hello fellow students.I am a self taught person that learned all the typical high school math syllabus( statistics and prob. Algebra 1 and 2 and trigonometry also). The only thing that is left to learn for me is geometry, plane geometry to be more precise.Does anyone know any good books or resources(except for khan academy and youtube) to learn geometry?
I am a person that mostly uses books by the way, thats why I am asking for books mainly.
Ok so if a sphere is just a Square curved in a Radial Spherical Space in 3D. Can i say a Circle is just a line curved in a somilar radial cicular sense but curved in 2D space? Basically are circles just Non Euclean Lines?
Iβm currently researching for a university paper, and one of my sources has extensive information for my essay, but it is all grounded in an understanding of Euclidean Geometry. This is for a philosophy paper so my geometric knowledge is limited.
Is anyone able to explain briefly what Euclidean Geometry is as I canβt seem to find any short explanations online.
Thanks!!
Don't let the geometry part scare you away; it's less a number thing and more of an exercise in triangles and circles and lines. I only ask because I've been playing this phone game called Euclidea and it's really fascinating. I've recently used calipers and string to mark my exact center of whichever part of a project needs it, but I'm sure there are way better cheats and tricks. So do any of you guys use it on your stuff? I know it's a long shot.
Hello everyone!
I've started a math degree, and I have a problem related to a isosceles triangle.
Basically I know the values of 2 segments, that are equal, and I need to know the value of the basis.
With this informations, can I calculate the value of the basis?
I want my brain to explode, so I want to watch one...
The title says it all; does anyone know of any games in VR that take advantage of this to allow the player to walk around an environment?
Alternatively, any game that utilizes just rotation to do the same thing?
I can only manually turn with a controller while walking in circles so long lol.
Oh wait it was just ur mom
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32KBFzPYnAQ <- the video in question. uploader said he made it on HL2 hammer, without portals and teleports. how can i replicate this effect?

R4: The author claims that Non-Euclidean geometries are believed to be consistent due to the failure of attempts to derive the parallel postulate from Euclid's other axioms. Of course this is not the case: the argument is actually that we can construct a model of non-Euclidean geometry assuming the consistency of Euclidean geometry, and therefore the consistency of non-Euclidean geometry follows from the consistency of Euclidean geometry.
One would be inclined to direct the author to Hilbert's quote about beer mugs. However, they are clearly aware of this line of argument and reject it because 'one cannot make an inference about something, presently the postulate, by changing meanings of words in it. One is then speaking about something else.' I can't comment on how this relates to Euclid's understanding over 2000 years ago, but from a contemporary perspective this is nonsense.
