Security Officer (formerly Sergeant of Marines) David Miller found another good tree and tagged the exact location on the trunk for the next perimeter sensor, before slinking off into the underbrush again. After a few meters, he stepped into the lee of an exposed tree root nearly two meters tall and over a meter thick, and surveyed the immediate approach to his position while he checked in on the lieutenant’s security feeds.
Where the actual hell did she get milspec combat droids? He wondered as he checked the live feeds. Did she have a permit for them? Did she need one? He didn’t know, but intended to find out. Sure, they were older, surplus models, and spec’d to gardenworld military standards, but there were four of them, and they had surveillance radar and could post perimeter sensors according to a radio frequency tag, saving him precious minutes.
And every minute counted. Damn those oblivious researchers. Dr. Trrbin, the Svikkthian researcher at the head of the entire operation, had aligned each day’s landing zone and time to coincide with shipboard day cycles, arguing that doing so would maximize the field team’s effective working time with minimal risk of adversely triggering any of the team’s species-specific circadian rhythms. Never mind that this planet’s day was 30 hours. He already had the ground team setting up meteorological and environmental monitoring equipment near the shuttle, hoping to start passive recording by midday, and have a ground camp set up before dusk. The idiot even wanted to sleep dirtside, and had convinced the captain to grant the go-ahead, in spite of vehement protests from both Miller and Sydni.
They had been on the ground less than thirty minutes, and Dave had already startled six crepuscular predators investigating the commotion. At less than a meter long and barely half a meter tall, the small reptilians were likely ovivorous, and not much of a threat. Sydni and the combat droids could deal with them easily, and any scratches they caused would likely not be life-threatening, even to a gardenworlder. Dr. Trrbin found Miller’s report on them to be more exciting than concerning, and had asked for both a live and dead specimen to be collect

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

I just purchased foundry and am looking to migrate my regular VTT RPG to it. However having some other interests I wanted to ask about a possible Wargame I had in mind, specifically Full Thrust/Stargrunt/Dirtside type of thing. I might possibly be interested in other sci-fi fleet combat/tactical systems.
I have begun to look into it and found the 'Modular' game system in Foundry. Is this what I am looking for? Any advice about Wargaming on Foundry (modules etc...)?

Is there an on-planet travel system for Traveller? I only find space travel when searching.

Jay's metallic eye studied the closest chart, body hunched slightly to reach the surface that had been lower to Julie preferences. Two silver fingers swiped to get a closer view.
"It's an excellent plan. Although I question how long it will take. And it should not be the only steps we take to ensure the safety of our new allies…", he said, giving a soured look as he spoke again, "And I suppose the troublesome brother's as well. R had reported nothing but positive things so far."
Julie suppressed a snort at the look of sheer disgust on Jay's face at saying anything nice about the Fuller Brothers. It served them right, the whole thing had made her really uncomfortable, truth be told, so watching Rus especially squirm whenever Jay was around felt a bit like justice.
"If we set the sentient AI and the Drowd they brought with them in charge of repairs might speed things up a bit. Any who don't we can snag for the hydroponics. I'd also like you to ask around about some regular trade partners'', The brunette woman reasoned back, "If we're going to start moving we need a place to sell any caffeine syrup we stockpile."

The Captain of the Holy Mother’s Directive began briefing Specialist Taylor on the way towards a small facility nestled against Hydroponics, moving with grace between bulkheads along the passageway with a gait suggestive of a dancer.
“I’m sure I don’t need to tell a human that the universe can be a dangerous place. Without you, the Galactic Union’s less militaristic species may have been hard pressed to fight off outside threats so readily. Your addition to the GU was lauded by many species as a windfall; it’s not every day we find another sapient omnivore from such a highly rated death-world. That’s not to say that it’s unthinkable, but given the large number of environmental factors, let’s just say most people in the Galactic Union consider Earth or Genesis to be largely uninhabitable. They’re too tectonically active, their seasons too harsh, their axial spin too brutal, to say nothing about the gravity or temperature extremes.”
Captain Angari L’lesh turned her head towards Rowan, lambent electric blue eyes gazing at them closely.
Blinking slowly, she continued, “If something goes wrong, anywhere in space, the first people to investigate are often us; we go farther, faster, and our missions are of great import. We are soldiers, we are scientists, but above all, we are fact-finders.”
The captain continued, waving her hand in front of a door panel to allow entrance. “Our current mission after picking you up in Entiat space is to investigate a possible disturbance on Rathi, one of the Farok-shi frontier worlds. Their oceans aren’t too dissimilar from our own, so it made a great first stepping stone for early Farok-shi settlers.”
Arriving at the pool, the captain quickly shed her clothing and dove into the small pool.
