Hello everyone,
Just a status update. I have been studying hard for the past 8 weeks in a Step 1 prep course and I am scared that it has not been enough. I just took NMBE 16 and got a 175 on it. The last exam I took was a 155 (NMBE 13) on Feb 3rd. I just feel like beating myself up over it, but I do not have time to feel this way. My real exam date is on 3/29 (4 weeks away) and I am scared that it will not be enough.
Things I have done:
- Around 85% done with Uworld (45% average). I should not concentrate on the score, but it does endorse the idea that I am not learning. I used to hit 50-60, but then I hit Neuro...
- 50% done with Zanki. I am hoping to use this as my primary method of learning because I am a big fan of Anki cards. I am open to changing the strategy though.
- 1 pass through Sketchy Micro (with associated flashcards).
- >50% done with Pathoma.
- Barely cracking Sketchy Pharm (planning on using the Pepper deck for this).
- Barely cracking Sketchy Path (I plan on using this only for heme/onc because that is a weakness of mine).
I have a mandatory month of class next for March which will take a half day every day which will get me around 8 hours of studying a day. I could easily push for more though. I have a sense of embarrassment and shame because I am simply not improving as much as I need to, but I am prepared to do what it takes. What do you all think? Do I have a shot for a 220 or even pass in 4 weeks?

I do not trust scopely at all at this point, so this is a throwaway account.
After I made a post on the forums, about how bad the state of the game had become since I have retired, I was contacted by a former influential player, who had some friends in the game industry, and influence and direct communications, with some TWD RTS developers. They told me they knew some damning information about scopely, that they could not risk publicly disclosing. So after realizing just how true what she told me is, I decided to be the middleman to get this info to all the players, and even beyond the players.
This is what was sent to me.
"I Spoke to a couple old friends that happen to work in the mobile gaming industry. Turns out scopely is a total joke. We were talking about the recent moves since 6*s became available in the wheel and they said all the moves that have been made, including the hiring of a new cm, is textbook kill-game procedure. Like there are actually procedures set up to kill a game that has become bigger, less profitable or more of a headache than expected. Drive out the old, fleece the new and let the game die. They both said 90% game death by September. They were well aware of the rng issue as scopely has quite a reputation for having completely predetermined results for each unique user. They were also both shocked that a class action hasn’t happened yet, despite scopely’s history of paying relatively small settlements to plaintiffs. It was all very interesting. The new Apple regulations with loot boxes will make it easy for the game to die. All scopely has to do is nothing. Apple will kill it for them.
They both said that rapid feature addition is a common step in kill-game plans. Keep throwing new stuff no matter if its fully functioning, thought out or wanted in order to change the game enough to frustrate old players. Typically new features are essentially beta testing for new games in the works. They both laughed at KaliShane.
According to them, a cm being brought in this late is just to keep the community controlled and squash any riots or lawsuit talk. That’s exactly what she did at Turtle Rock with Evolve. I find it funny she is so proud of her time there."
this info was presented by one of the Devs, who wanted to share the info publically, but could not due to a NDA. but I figured. I'm not bound by an NDA. I can share this with the players and the forums and ask scopely if this information was true?

I remember one game i hammered him so bad, he needed to cry to the media, saying I'm a shit manager for a tinpot club. For the next 3 seasons I was HELLBENT, on torturing this man. Sent my youth teams to friendly there's before games, unnerved all his star players by declaring interest, causing them to hand transfer requests Chatted all the shit about him in the press. I remember facing him in a final. I created 5 separate saves of that final, Just to beat him Again and again. Even when he got sacked I made a burner save just to quit, follow him to his new league, and Beat him some more. Never have i hated an AI simulated entity to be pushed to such lengths.
I have to use Windows for at least one more year for work. I've used Windows all my life, but I bought the new Macbook as my personal computer because I've heard great things about its performance (even though not a fan of the OS). I'm worried though about being as efficient with the shortcuts and workflow when I have to use both about half the time. I'm still in my 14-day trial period though so I can return the macbook if needed.
My question: For those who are forced to use both, do you find it difficult to get used to the keyboard shortcuts and workflows? Or do you always feel like you're sacrificing 5% of your efficiency by using both and not having a solid, established muscle memory on one platform? Cmd vs Ctrl, alt vs. option. Not sure if I'll ever fully be able to switch seamlessly between these configurations and also even things like using the finder vs windows explorer. It seems like I would always be trying to "mix them together" for everything. There are complexities too. For instance, in Windows I use the option "make active window by hovering over it". Whereas for Mac I can't even find this as an option to use (IF SOMEONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO IF THIS IS POSSIBLE ON MACOS PLEASE LMK). With Windows I use Alt+Tab for navigating between my windows and Mac I use workspaces (virtual desktops) so it's not even just shortcuts that are different but even the workflows themselves.
Any thoughts for those who use both? Do you feel like you're sacrificing efficiency? And if you're someone who uses both, please specify if it's my choice or compulsory (basically have to).
i’m ready to drop out of uni and be fully immersed in martial arts. i’ve never practiced kung-fu so it might be a little hard for me and i’m worried i’ll drop it after a few months just like i did with studying Japanese, knitting, landscaping, playing volleyball, becoming a monk, planning a trip all over the world and a lot of other things which i don’t remember unfortunately. it’s annoying how i want to say something and suddenly forget everything. Anyways i’ve contacted the martial arts school and btw few years ago i searched for a foreign martial arts institutions that will accept me as a kung-fu student so now i know what i’m getting into. wish me luck!

Today we lost a great one. Betty White has passed. So I dedicate a new burger for the special board, The Betty White Cheddar and Spicy Chili Burger. Having white cheddar with roasted poblano chilis and an avocado crema on sliced bread. Spicy because she could cuss like a sailor, probably out drink us while smoothly winning your heart and was the greatest thing since "before" sliced bread. R.I.P. Betty, you were and shall always be loved.

I have been a mechanical design engineer in automation for the past 4 years. I would like to take some online programming courses to help me advance in Mechanical Engineering field. What are the programming skills I could learn that would be useful for my current job and make me more marketable for robotics design/development jobs in 1-2 years timeframe. I would still like to do primarily mechanical design and development, but would like to have some more programming skills to compliment that.
I am thinking either learn:
- Python (to automate things at work, but I don't know what yet)
- Learn how to do web or app development so I can do web/app to do some design calculations
- If this is the case, I don't know where to start. I might need some "road map"
- Learn machine learning or data science using Python.
- Do some robot programming (whatever that might be, is it C and arduino?) and make a robotic arm or some sort of vehicle? (I have a 3D printer) and then make a portfolio?
I would like to define a clear path and objectives to do this. I want to make sure that what I am aiming to do is achievable.
Let me know how I should go about it...
Hi, I’m 16F and I bought my bf (15M) for christmas the third book of the Archive of Storms saga. I don’t have a lot of time, so I sadly haven’t been able to read any of the books, even tho I know a little bit of context thanks to him.The thing is, I wanted to write a little note in a paper and sneak it in the book, so when he opens it he finds it. Is there any romantic quotes or some kind of reference i can write in it? Thanks in advance! :)
