A list of puns related to "Darlene"
Disclosure: I am a paramedic working in the fraser valley and GVRD. This post does not represent the views of BCEHS or the views of my union APBC.
I want to start off and say thank you. Thank you to every single one of my emergency paramedic colleagues, who had to work in treacherous conditions this past weekend in this record breaking heat wave. That had to go nonstop to every single call, wearing our PPE, many critical patients waiting hours and we were too late or those who never even got an ambulance at all. To my paramedic family, you stepped up like no other. Your heroism shined through the smoke that BCEHS attempted to blind us with. The countless and extremely large amount of deaths we responded to. To never ending "I'm sorry for your loss" conversations we had to endure over and over again to family members who left waiting helplessly because our emergency services collapsed over the weekend. The way I seen you step up while already at hospitals on offload delays, or with patients and seeing taxi's pulling up, private vehicles and fire departments dropping off and you jumped into action taking on more patients. I stood by you, I watched you all struggle, I heard you over the radios and felt the pain alongside with you. Thank you for your service to this province.
To my emergency dispatchers who were running on fumes trying everything they could to get people the help they needed with what little, to essentially no resources we had. With no support from our upper management other than "we'll reassess in the morning" while other agencies declared a state of emergency and ours didn't, you all in dispatch pushed forward with pride and honour and we heard it. The countless times you've had to decide who was more sick, who had a better chance of survival to have the last ambulance for the next 30+minutes is a toll no dispatcher should ever have to make. I am proud to be your paramedic and be dispatched by you. The extremely long, pending calls ranging in the high 250+ numbers with no end in sight was a system failure that we all saw coming but management refused to acknowledge and allowed you all to carry the burden in our dispatch centers. Thank you for your service to this province.
To my emergency medical call takers. I can't even begin to fathom the amount of cries you've heard, the screams you've heard from people calling and begging for help. The sheer volume of 911 calls pouring in, with no relief in sight, back logged into E-Com
... keep reading on reddit β‘Does anyone know what happened to Darlene Hill and Brad Johansen? As of today, Jennifer Bullock and Jerod Smalley are now doing the 4 and 5 PM news. I really liked Darlene and Brad together! I called the station out of curiosity and they were super weird and vague and sent me to someone's voice-mail. What is up?!?
Now that there is someone that has a definite age and location can we readdress some of the previous suggestions about Darlene knowing her killer?
McDuff lived in Vallejo
McDuff's first name could be shortened to a single syllable.
Darlene's baby sitter said that Darlene saw someone kill another person. That man had a single syllable name.
Mike seemed to think that Darlene knew who was chasing them that night.
Besides Darlene meeting a lot of people through her work, she also happened to go to the same high school as Morf's unsub.
That's all I gotta say. Wyatt is a blind idiot. And Darlene should have died instead of Jacob. Also Helens daughter annoyed me to no end. And maybe it's because I grew up with nothing and quite a bit of abuse but she is so fucking annoying. When my friends told me a OLDER man was not a good person I listened. And I didn't even have to see them point a gun at a nice 14 year old boy. Erin is a fucking idiot. And her mom is just trying to keep her safe and she calls her a "fucking bitch".
Wyatt has an issue stealing a book but has no issue farming poppies? Killing people? And when Ruth tells him Darlene is disgusting he doesn't care. Fuck Wyatt. I'm a former heroin addict. And I've had 3 friends die in the past 5 months. Wyatt can get bent.
When Darlene comes in and everyone sees her freshly dyed black hair, Roseanne pretends to like it at first. Then at the end of the conversation, Roseanne tells her the truth, that she hates her hair and that's exactly what Darlene wanted. Her response, "thanks, Mommy" has a little bit of sarcasm to it (we are talking about Darlene, after all), but I feel that she genuinely appreciates her in that moment. I just think it's sweet. Sorry I can't remember the season or episode that's in ATM. Does anyone agree/disagree? Let's discuss!
Finished ep 2 of season 3. So no spoilers past that
She's an interesting character. I hate her, but I love to watch her. Darlene gives some much tension to every scene she is in. You never know when she's going to snap. Still trying to figure out what she has Wyatt around for. It's not his 24gs from Ruth because that's not much to her, so I'm trying to pin point what she wants from him or how she's going to use him. I wanted Darlene dead over Jacob, but I've been enjoying her eeriness on screen lol.
Also, Martys "I told you so" moment to Wendy at the end of the episode was just great lol.
I know that Troy reads the threads, and specifically that Matthew does not, and I sure hope Joe does.
Hopefully they haven't sat down and recorded the next Giantslayer, but I believe we could as a community come together and convince Joe to roll his next character as Sir Darlene. Think about it: they need a front line heavy armored fighter and they need someone who can actually heal. Plus, a pure paladin is distinct enough from Sir Will. And finally, Matthew could RP with Joe as Metra, echoing how Pembrooke used to fan-boy over Dalgreath!
I would up my patreon sub if this were to happen, and everyone is better off for it!
Did Darlene graduate early or drop out? Iβm watching the episode where Darlene is going off to art school and Dan says that she is βalmost 17β. So she leaving for college at 16 years old?
apologies if a post like this has been made before; i did a quick search and couldn't find much. spoilers for season 4 i guess (?)
i always thought it was interesting that sam chose to have darlene use dolores haze (D0loresH4ze) as her irc handle. in case anyone is unaware, dolores haze is the full name of the titular character "lolita," a book about a 12 year old girl who is groomed, abused, and kidnapped by her pedophilic stepfather. this reference is also invoked by darlene wearing heart shaped sunglasses, which is heavily associated with the film renditions of lolita. (it is also inverted--lolita tends to be shown with a lollipop in her mouth, whereas darlene is generally smoking cigarettes).
i've seen some debate re: darlene and edward. did he rape her in addition to elliot? if not, did she know what was happening to elliot? darlene often says she doesn't remember much about him, but could this mean she's blocked it out or that she was too young to remember the events clearly?
i think on a surface level, the pop culture understanding of "lolita" has a very coney island fantasy/lana del rey sort of energy--public consciousness has reshaped the character of lolita into a manic wild child, but the book contradicts this entirely. i can see this relating to the idea that many of the characters have a "mask" and are perceived in ways that are fantastical and exaggerated. darlene is seen as this very unhinged, dramatic, loud girl but we see she is also just, at heart, a scared girl who misses her brother and doesn't want to be alone.
a few extra points:
TLDR i'm curious about why sam chose to insert these lolita/darlene parallels and was curious if anyone had any thoughts.
Did anyone else notice in the later seasons when Darlene is away at school(right before she gets pregnant) she starts wearing dresses? I felt like that was so weird for them to change her style like that. Peak Darlene is dark clothes and long curly hair.
Under a specific light, Ben is a fairly ideal suitor for Darlene, as he's attentive and loving in the ways that Johnny Galecki's David was not. However, with Ben's affection comes a fairly demanding sense of entitlement, where he seems to think Darlene should do things a certain way simply because she's with him. I can't deny that Ben's logic about selling those Hawaii tickets was practical and sound, at least financially, but he remained completely oblivious to how much that trip would have seriously impacted Darlene's emotional issues, and that's a huge problem. It's almost like to me Ben doesn't care about Darlene's Emotions that's he's actually being really selfish because he's acting like he doesn't care about what she wants, and I think what she wants is to stop being the one to fix the family
Watching the opening scene of succ3ss0r.p12 and kinda chuckled when Darlene said, "Relax, kids, this is isn't the Stranger Danger episode," which was quickly followed up with the thought <no, that's happening at a different Ron's Coffee right now>, followed by wow, that's really clever, I wonder if it implies... See title of post. Thoughts?
I have not seen either one of them during the NBC4 4-6pm newscasts during the past few weeks. Jerod Smalley and other people have been filling in for them. Have they left the network? I liked both of them.
Just finished the episode where Darlene is depressed and Roseanne tries to talk to her but she just wants to be left alone; ugh- hit me right in the feels! Knowing your kid is sad and you canβt do anything to help, thatβs a tough one. This show dealt with lots of tough ones and I appreciate the hell out of it for that!
I just wanna applaud her for being so strong in life! Especially because her own brother stops remembering her, her fathers dead and her mother isnβt in her lifeπ© itβs just a lot to go through being so alone! She had Cisco off and on but not having family is v rough! She doesnβt have a stable life but she doesnβt give up. We rarely ever saw her breakdown! Idk I was just thinking about her today π
It makes me wish they were together in the reboot. They had incredible chemistry and I'm happy to hear they have been friends for years

Rewatching the series and noticed this a while ago, just somewhat new to Reddit so it took me a while to post it.
In the S2 Premiere, Darlene is casually stalking Madame Executioner (Susan Jacobs) from behind the newspaper/magazine to the left, while Jacobs is taking a morning jog.
Scenes like this are why I love Darlene. She really was a driving force in Fsociety, always lurking in the shadows, yet in plain sight, she's just a BAMF!

I could see Darlene breaking up with Ben and Dan doing the same likewise in regards to Louise, and in turn to get over their heartbreaks Darlene and Dan go on the vacation together. Your thoughts?
It's times like this that I wish Roseanne was still around to set them straight - which nobody should have to do to people who are in their mid-forties, but I digress.
I know everyone has confronted Becky and the focus was on her alcoholism, but someone seriously needs to tell her to just buck up. Binge-drinking five feet from her infant child was a choice, one that she made because she was disappointed about not being able to go back to school. That's a valid reason to be upset and frustrated, but it's not a valid reason to pass out drunk when she should've been taking care of her kid.
Where even are Darlene's kids half the time? She's sure not taking care of them. She's hanging out by herself at a hotel pool, or out drinking with Molly, or getting her license suspended for drag racing a teenager.
Seriously, what in the actual hell is wrong with them? I get times are hard and their lives suck but their responses to that are not appropriate and yet, for the most part, it's just played for laughs. Their behavior is not normal, like at all, which I find bizarre for a show that touts portraying reality.
Dan and Roseanne were both working 12+ hours days at times, not even home long enough to fix dinner. It sucked, they were exhausted, the kids might have been a little neglected for attention at times but it's what they had to do to take care of their family. Almost every choice they made was with their kids in mind. So why did those same kids turn out so horrendously selfish?
Dan has always been the softer one. Jackie did her best to tell Becky like it is, but she's still missing some perspective. Your kids should come above all else, period. You do what you have to do. Whether that's working two or three jobs or going to community college. Even that would be hugely beneficial to any of them. They need to remember, a factory job is still a job. If Becky really wants to make sure Beverly Rose has a better future, it starts now, with her mother not getting blackout drunk in her elderly father's basement, and she has to see that.
Now the way Harris behaves is making more sense. She's just going to be the next generation of irresponsible, irrational, lazy, self-pitying Conner women. And it's an absolute tragedy that's what this family has turned into. It doesn't make any sense. Darlene and Becky both acted more mature as teenagers than they are now.
