A list of puns related to "Cuban Heel"
Does anyone have any sources or experience about working on cuban heels?
Anyone know any good Cuban boots that are relatively reasonably priced (like up to $300). I've been keeping my eyes peeled on vintage too but was wondering if there's any new options
I don't understand why they always try to make these on a weird angle. So we're basically tip toeing for 5 hours, although the spins are great, the arch and the overall weight gets transferred to the front of the feet, even worse, relying on your heels well just give you aches because your feet are still slanted to a very uncomfortable degree. Quote my follow friend, she hates it. I love cuban shoes, it makes me feel taller too but the spins are good too, and before you say, I prefer taller women actually.
Are there better shoes for these types? Why not make a show that's not exaggeratedly curved but leveled like a platform, the hoke one one shoes area actually pretty good but are there some for dancing?
I am looking for a nice cuban heel boot. Ideally, I'd love Jodhpur Boots but those SLPs are properly out of budget.
Yes, I am aware of the RM Williams Yearling - have been toying about it for a while but wouldn't mind going for something a bit different and less corporate yuppie.
Full grain leather, Goodyear Welt and somewhat available in Australia. Open to any suggestions
I was curious what Eddie's "ruby"cuban heels looked like during my second read of Wizard and Glass so I googled them. My first result was a shoe called "The Dean". This was too 19 to not share with you. Unfortunately my screenshot wouldn't post, probably due to advertising reasons. But if you Google search "cuban heels boots" they should be the first result. π€―
Hi all,
Iβm a big fan of RM Williams boots. However, in my size (very wide feet) the only offering they have is the βTamboβ range, which is restrictive. I was hoping to buy a fresh set of RMβs and then take it to a cobbler to add a Cuban style heel. Is this possible? If not, are there any workarounds/suggestions? Thanks!
Hi Everyone,
I need to start with a disclaimer: I actually ordered and received these months and months ago but since I also do photography as a hobby/side-profession, I really wanted to do a low-key βportraitβ of these before wearing them. That process tookβ¦ well until now. Hereβ the album of the βunboxingβ (which, isnβt my end intended result):
Nonetheless, while I wouldnβt end up including anything in a portfolio, I am also not going back to do a βperfectβ unboxing and will post my final result separately. I did think that this might be useful info for anyone looking at getting EB. Hilariously, Iβve still yet to wear them but likely will in the next few weeks.
Ordering
This pair was through a GMTO started by /u/grizzly_giant and fulfilled by /u/gMehra at Mehra. The original make-ups were going to be suede and while I loved the concept of the make-up, I just couldnβt see myself with a suede boot due to weather. I proposed this tweak on brown museum calf with a (tan)braken strap and thankfully, got a few others to roll the dice.
Also, super flattered that a 2nd round of them were ordered in the future
Huge props to GG and Enzo Bonafe for organizing and actually allowing us to go through with this crazy GMTO. The effort involved cannot be overstated.
Time was approximately 3 months and Gaurav was helpful through the ordering and getting in touch when delivering.
First Impressions, construction, materials
Disclaimer β Iβm no expert in shoes. Iβve only gotten into this βhobbyβ about a year ago and while my collection has already grown to an embarrassing size, itβs actually made up of a lot of used shoes such that I have a chance to get familiar with any brands before committing to new. That said, this was one of my few βnewβ purchases and I basically gambled with EB based on online feedback as this was my first pair. I had a chance to see them in person in Mehraβs stock so I did have some familiarity. This also popped by GMTO cherry.
Truth be told, my very very first impression was disappointment since the shoe box it came with was actually damaged on one edge. Sometimes the roll of the dice for shipping so I donβt really blame anyone involved that can do anything ab

I'm a femme follow but what I'm looking for is probably going to be a men's shoe. I need a comfy (and hopefully cute) versatile shoe that I can wear to practice and the discoteca. I'm thinking a Cuban heel would give a nice slight push towards keeping me on my toes without the discomfort of heels. But I'm open to any tips on what a good comfy indoor/outdoor soled dance should would be.
Right now I'm looking at GFranco shoes and the Vortex looks like a good form but I'm worried the shell is hard and would irritate my toes. The Edge Black looks great and comfy but is very flat and I'd really like something with even just a tiny heel. I keep getting these sponsored ads on FB for this brand B Step's Rebel Combat Boot dance shoes that look soft and comfy with just the slightest heel but I'm not sure if I want boots, or if they're even good.
Cuban Heels
Easily spotted due to their height and their tapered sides Cuban Heels are a controversial part of men's footwear. The higher heels are prominent on cowboy boots and other riding boots as it helps the rider stay in the saddle. I seem to be unable to find much more historical information about them so maybe some other users would know.
Cuban heels are still fairly prominent today and are most commonly available from companies like White's that provide the 2" tapered heel as a standard option.

Side Zips
Side-zips are also a pretty divisive topic. Some people view them as a functional option on boots similar to speed hooks, many find them gaudy and unnecessary, others really like the aesthetic it can bring to certain styles. This look is also fairly prominent on sneakers (although none are included in the album since I couldn't find any that were welted and had them).

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi there,
I realize this request isn't for the type of boot that's typically discussed around here. My boots to date are the more standard type (Wolverine 1K, RM Williams, AE) and I have a few on the wishlist that are certainly talked about a lot (White's, Alden Cap Toe).
But ever since seeing someone wearing a pair similar, I've been looking for a boot that has a square-ish toe, turned up slightly, similar to what you might see on a motorcycle boot and a cuban heel. "Somewhat Western" would probably be a fair way of describing what I'm looking for. These boots from Frye (http://www.thefryecompany.com/cavalry-12l/d/87410C20464?CategoryId=201) are reasonably close, although I'm not married to a tall boot (but with the heel / toe combo I'm describing a tall boot feels like it "fits" better).
I'm wondering if any one has some other suggestions to check out. I'm not too price sensitive, so will consider pretty much anything.
Thanks!
Hey folks,
So I've had my eyes out for some Cuban heel boots for a while, particularly Chelsea boots, since I saw a mate of mine get some off Atom Retro (uk) a few years ago. I've got a bit of a hippy look going on, blues musician. I've seen a lot of great pics of blues legends like Muddy, the Stones, Junior Wells, with some mean kicks on stage. High bridge would be nice, and a good (but not too sharp) toe. I'm not a short guy (5' 10") but I like the look.
Anyone know where I could sniff out some of these boots, online or in a shop (I'm based in London and I've got a sharp eye on the Rokit shops)? Anyone have any history with this? Most of the stuff I find online has no taper in the heel. No brogues or suade, just looking for nice leather and old fashioned Cuban heels, don't mind the colour.
Thanks a bunch, love ya madly.
Hi guys,
I'm a flamenco guitarist and I have a formal recital in June. I'd like to dress the part a little, so in keeping with the traditions and culture of the music I'd like to find some men's black boots with a cuban heel on them to wear. This look is very old school Spanish, and famous players like Paco de Lucia and Manolo Sanlucar rocked them all the time. Although this boot style is quite eccentric and wouldn't work for usual daily wear, I think it would look sharp within the context of a flamenco performance (I'll be wearing a suit as well, so plain black leather is ideal). The problem is that I'm having a hard time finding a Cuban heeled, black boot that is sized for men. Men's flamenco boots actually exist, as they are what dancers wear, but they're hideously shaped... If anyone could provide any help or suggestions it would be appreciated!
PS: For a clip of what I'm talking about, check out this performance by Paco and Manolo, both wearing their heeled boots, with a close up shot of their tapping feet at 1:42 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9FfOpBaK0I

Hey all... 5'7" fella here, going out with a girl that's also 5'7". I don't have a major issue with being a bit of a shorty, but I do prefer not to have my woman towering over me... So, in order to keep a girl that likes heels happy, I'm hoping to stretch myself vertically a bit!
Can I wear cuban heels and avoid looking like a cowboy? The occasion is generally a full "frocking up" affair, so we're talking suit and tie, here.
What type of shoe/boot should I be looking at? What type of toe looks best? If a cuban heel is a definite no-no, what other options are there?
Bonus points for Melbourne MFAers, where can I get some before this 5pm this saturday? Thank you all :)
edit - I'm slim, dark featured, and wear size 9's...
