A list of puns related to "Counterbalance"
The person who decided that adept mods need to have negative attributes is not intune with how the game works or how players think. No one is going accept a mod that take 10 range for a weapon. There isn't a weapon in this game that this mods helps. Yes +35 recoil direction sounds awesome but the loss of 10 range instantly make the mod a bad choice.
This mod should be changed. Honestly they should just remove the negative ten range portion and they maybe this mod can get some use. But right now it's worthless.
Hi,
I'm currently working through the 33SoW and I'm on chapter 3 (not losing presence of mind, the counterbalance strategy). So far in the book, what seems to be emphasised is preparation and knowing your enemy and the battle in advance. And through this preparation and planning, you're able to maintain presence of mind.
But my question is what if you have conflict that arises when you didn't expect it? Like, say if someone starts on you (verbally speaking) when you didn't expect anything to happen, how do you maintain your presence of mind? I'm asking because when these moments do happen to me, I do indeed lose my presence of mind and get extremely anxious and my body and voice start to shake and my heart beats very fast. How do I learn to control this and adopt the counterbalance strategy in these kinds of scenarios?
Thank you

Past two weeks thereβs a couple guys starting a new camp at the end of Counterbalance Park at the bottom of Queen Anne Ave and Roy St in QA. With tents, shopping carts, tarps and trash. Iβve been impressed that this park had stayed relatively clean throughout the pandemic. Not anymore.
Whatβs the point of rules that say the park is closed at 11pm when people just flagrantly disregard the rules and camp at night? Itβs a tiny concrete park, βurban oasisβ for the tens of thousands of people who live in Lower Queen Anne/Uptown. Not anymore. Now itβs the private fiefdom of 2-3 able-bodied white men in their prime and clearly dealing drugs. Soon there will be three tents, then 10, and then it will look like Mercer/Dexter and become untouchable. This is no way to run a city. And thereβs nothing equitable about this.
This is the kind of thing that needs to be nipped in the bud right away. But right now we have no mechanism of doing it other than private citizens telling the campers to go somewhere else. The city council under GonzΓ‘lez and also supported by Andrew Lewis got rid of the only legal means of moving them via the navigation team. We were told social services would replace the nav team. Well where is the social services team to get rid of this budding camp and who do I contact? Crickets. The Find it Fix it app has been useless too and the queries closed immediately with no resolution. Vote for GonzΓ‘lez and expect every park in the city to be an encampment including Volunteer, Seward, Discovery, Magnuson and Lincoln. Shameful.
It's absolutely absurd that vampire is basically losing 1/5 skills for the majority of the game (pve) with literally no option for a PvE substitute or any adjustments elsewhere in the kit.
If Blood Mist is the problem morph, I have no idea why they do not make Elusive Mist PvP only and then make the Blood Mist morph ability into something entirely different that doesnt give resistances. Could call it Swarming Mist and make it a mobility/disengage tool that lets you dash forward and applies a unique lifesteal debuff/steals HP from each enemy hit.
My biggest issue with this is they admit that blood mist is meant to be a disengage when it literally doesn't function like one. It's a OBJECTIVELY a tanking tool. Meanwhile, NPCs literally have the perfect disengage/utility tool in the form of the bat swarm dash. Just copy/paste this ability over as a morph so vamps arent losing out on an entire ability.
Keep in mind vamps are STILL encouraged to use all vampire abilities to get the most out of vampire despite this. Since vampire abilities cost less than normal abilities, their game design contradicts itself by saying we're supposed to use all vamp stuff to get the most out of the cheap stage passive/weakness yet they're literally removing an entire ability from PvE.
This isn't even acknowledging the VERY slippery slope we're on if people just readily accept this as 'balance.' Can you imagine if 1-2 skills out of every class or weapon skill line could only be used in PvE or PvP? It'd feel so awkward explaining to players that 'here's your class, but you can only use x, y, z over here. Not there.'
Overall, there's just so many solution to the mist form problem that straight up removing it from PvE just isn't the answer. Blood Mist needs to be changed if it doesn't fit their design idea.
The ability as a whole needs to be stripped down into something else if they can't handle the resistances it gives.
The trade off on these adept mods are a little too extreme like why would I add a bit of recoil direction and stability if it reduces my effective range?
Does anyone have experience using the Humanscale M2 monitor arm? I've set it up with a 24" Dell Ultrasharp, but I'm finding that the monitor arm is super stiff. In order to get the monitor to stay low to the table without it springing back upward, I had to tighten the counterbalance screws quite a bit. If the screws are loosened so that it's is easy to move around, I'm not able to get the monitor to stay in position.
Would be grateful for any advice. Has anyone found this to be normal when new and it loosens up with time? I'm starting to wonder if my monitor is too light at 7 lbs.
I have a counterbalance in play. My opponent casts a 2 cmc spell. I flip a 2 cmc spell. If my opponent responds with a 1 cmc spell and I rearrange the top of my deck to a 1 cmc spell to resolve that counterbalance trigger does the first counterbalance trigger fizzle after the resolution of the 1 cmc counterbalance trigger? Or does the first counterbalance trigger remember the 2 cmc spell since that is what was revealed when it was triggered?
Sorry if this is a bit convoluted. I probably could have done a better job with the formatting.
Hi everyone ! I am a huge fan of the card counterbalance and I think it is well positioned in a format with a lot of the top decks having mostly 1 and 2 mana spells.
I made some research and found one guy that did play the card recently : Fuunk (5-0 on a mtgo League). I can't find the original list, so I'll post a copy here : https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3773253#paper I tried the deck in a small tournament of about 50 people. I unfortunately went 1 win, 1 loss, 4 draw ... 3 of them I was clearly winning, but needed more time and the last one was undecided.
I'd like to know if any of you tried to play a similar deck ? If you could post your list or any advices you could have to make the deck a bit quicker to finish games. Solitude are great but they don't go with lurrus which is needed to lock the game by recurring Brainstone over and over
I thought of removing the Field of Ruins for Ursa's Saga as they hit the Brainstone and can generate threats to finish the game quickly.
Also, the Omen of the Sea is clearly the weakest card of the deck, but I am not sure there is a replacement for it that can organise the top of the deck?
Have a nice day !
Hello SARMSINFO audience,
Just bought a years worth of arachidonic acid. How much Omega 3s should I supplement with daily for counterbalancing negative effects?
Will supplementing omega 3s lower the potential benefits of Arachidonic Acid?
Might anyone be able to tell me where I can find steel shot, or an equivalent thereof, that is locally or regionally produced? I'm using it for deadweight and the cost of shipping is nearly the same price as the actual shot, so my hope is to find it locally or regionally produced so I can pick it up myself and avoid that additional cost.
Thank you!
I know they changed it but I canβt find the communityβs reaction. Is it worth putting on my adept messenger? Thanks!
I know there's a lot of threads about the drama surrounding the live stream, but instead of just complaining about the dumb minority of players going after them, is there something we could organize to show them our appreciation?
For example, FFXIV players organize little birthday gifts/events for members of the staff like Koji Fox or Yoshi P. I feel like we could try something like that.
Yeah, supporting them on social media a bit might help, but honestly I don't think I would be checking that right now anyway if I were them. Additionally, individual voices don't mean a lot in these situations.
Any ideas? I think the cast has really wonderful chemistry and honestly I've never seen a game voice cast as closely knit together as they are. I really want to encourage them to keep going on and to really have a positive experience. If there is something cool we could do, I think it would be awesome.
Edit: I get that it's not an overwhelming number of negative comments, but it's certainly been enough to warrant responses from the actors themselves. The main thing is that this is not how our community should be in general.
Anyone get Empowered Counterbalance? I never saw.

Very few weapons benefit from being equipped with a Counterbalance mod. However, among those that benefit the most from it are The Messenger (60 Recoil Direction) and Shadow Price (79 Recoil Direction), which also happen to come in Adept flavor.
The difference between regular Counterbalance Stock (+15 Recoil Direction) and Adept Counterbalance (+35 Recoil Direction) is close to insignificant in practice, and I don't believe that it justifies a -10 Range penalty on the Adept mod. If anything, this penalty should be replaced with something like +3 or +5 Stability, just like Adept Icarus gives +5 Range.
Otherwise, I do not see any point in the existence of Adept Counterbalance, because if I really want a Counterbalance mod, like with The Messenger, I will always use the non-Adept mod, since 75 Recoil is identical to 95. As it stands, the range penalty is not worth this Adept mod being equipped on any weapon. Such a little change could make that mod more attractive over its non-Adept counterpart, without being OP.
EDIT: +35, not +25. Even if the Adept mod gave +100 Recoil Direction, it would still be worthless to me due to the penalty.
I struggle with narcissism, and even though Iβm aware of this I symptomatically loose that self awareness via self deception in all the moments that it matters most. I can be quick to become defensive and angry when I feel attacked, but often enough the βattackerβ meant no harm and was just trying to help me. If the situation was pushed hard enough, I could be so angry by that point to simply not care about their intent, and blame them for the words they used or actions they took that made me angry when they tried to help.
Im looking into therapy, right now Im just figuring out the financial and insurance coverage side of that. In the meantime though, Iβd really like to build a stack that can slow me down. Something to increase empathy, like how I know some SSRIs can, and reduce my jump to anger. Just to give me more patience and tolerance so that I can think about a situation long enough to see itβs reality before I fall into a narcissistic void.
Any help is really appreciated.
