Me: signs document
Banker: "Oh, sorry, you also have to swear to the information on this paper"
Me: "Well, that's kinda weird."
Banker: "Yeah, since this is a sworn document, you have to swear. It's weird, I know."

I recently tore all the ligaments in my ankle and I’m still in rehab. I was on the sidewalk concentrating on my crutches when a construction worker popped up in front of me. Initially I thought he was going to tell me I was walking under something dangerous; halfway through I thought he was going to ask me out; then Jesus happened:
“Hey, that looks like it hurts!”
“Naw, it’s not bad, it’s much better now.”
“Running? Skiing? How’d you do it?”
“Rock climbing.”
“Rock climbing! Wow, so you must be strong, eh?”

“ … ahaha … hah. That was good.”
“Yep.”
“So, I’m Christian.”
“Hi, Christian.”
“... and I don’t know if you’ve read the Bible, but the Bible says that laying on of hands, especially for our fellow Christians, will heal. And I’ve …” etc.
It took me a block to realize that I’d accidentally made a Dad joke.
It couldn't concentrate on one thing for so long
...and it dawned on me: No wonder our kids have ADD, all of our juice is "Not From Concentrate"
I work pizza delivery and late on Sunday night I was counting out my money. I was deep in concentration and when I finally turned around I found that the kitchen workers were cleaning out the walk-in cooler and they had stacked box after box of cheese nearly surrounding me. I turned to the nearest worker and said, "Hey, I'm really getting cheesed here!"
She snorted. I chuckled for the next hour, and on and off for the next few days.
Me: How are you like me?
Daughter: I have your inability to listen
Me: What?
Her: I have your inability to listen
Me: Ha ha
Her: I can't believe I fell for that, I was concentrating on my sandwich
I was roped into helping to make bread with my mother. She hates my jokes.
Me: You're so kneady.
Mum: eyeroll
Me: Hey, concentrate on the bread! My jokes are the yeast of your problems, I'm just trying to get a rise out of you!
I am not allowed to talk in the kitchen anymore.
(A bit of context first, but you can skip this paragraph if you want). An hour or so ago, I was playing a div 1 co-ed soccer game. Since our captain wasn't there, I was the one talking to the ref, signing the game sheet, providing the game ball, and all that. At some point during the game, one of our guys shot the ball and it rebounded off, giving us a corner. However, none of our guys were going to get the ball as if they thought it was the other team's ball. I yelled at my team "Guys, it's our corner!"
The ref turned to me and laughed, and said "They need to concentrate". I said "No kidding, huh?" He then turned to me with a pre-dadjoke smile and asked me "Why didn't the orange juice pass its exam? ... It couldn't concentrate."
It was in that moment that I knew this grey haired, bearded man was a father of at least one child. He didn't even look back for a reaction, he just turned with his dad smile, knowing full well that the joke has merit enough on its own regardless of a reaction.
So, when I was first learning to drive (actually my first time operating the car), my dad was teaching me to control the engine's RPM. However, he likes to troll me every once in awhile; this is what he did. Keep in mind we're parked in our driveway, parking break on, in neutral...
"Alright, weediereedie, you're going to want to hover around 2000 RPM, so I want you to really concentrate on keeping the engine at that speed. Hear what the engine sounds like when you go too far, or go under." I concentrate really intensely, and lose focus on what's going on around me. All of a sudden, my dad shouts in my ear "WATCH OUT THERE'S A TRUCK ABOUT TO CRASH INTO US!!" I immediately duck my head, cry out in fear, and slam my foot on the gas, while my dad cracks up in the passenger seat to the point of tears. Love you, Dad...most of the time :)
I was on the phone with my dad last night when he told me he was fired from his second job. I hadn't heard of this second job, so I asked him what it was.
"I got fired from the orange juice factory," he said. "I couldn't concentrate."
