A list of puns related to "Colt Detective Special"
We do have a lot of cops on this show but I asked my retired uncle about this gun and he said just because it was used by older detectives doesnβt mean civilians didnβt have them. They werenβt only sold to cops, so someone who is old enough to have purchased it before they stopped making them in 1995 could have one OR it was purchased at a gun show or pawn shop. He also said that if Mareβs dad used his to commit suicide, it would have been taken by the department until the death is cleared and put back into department rotation usually. It appears Mr. Carroll is a retired cop and has one still in the box. Was it used and put back?
I know that the detective specials were made in 38 and 32, and I also know the cobra was made in 38 and 32. The cobra also had a rare 22lr version and an even rarer 38 s&w. But my main question is how rare the 32s were. I want to get a detective special in 38 and 32. One for me and one for my wife (my wife isnt recoil sensitive but she dosent like shooting 38s after I had her try my j frame). I think range day could be way more fun for me and my wife if we could shoot a matching his and hers pair of revolvers. I know the 38 caliber detective specials are 500-600 bucks on gun joker but its rare to see a 32. Any help would be very appreciated. Or if you could tell me a website that has one and could ship it to my local ffl that would be even better.
So I just purchased a 71 detective special and it has a tad bit of rust on the barrel and other places as well. Iβve researched ways to remove it and I tried using a copper brush and it helped quite a bit but didnβt remove all of it. And itβs all surface rust. Should I keep trying with the technique Iβm using or is there another way to remove the rust? Any recommendations will be helpful. Thanks
Like the title says, recently have become enamored with the Colt Detective Special 3 inch barrel version with the shrouded ejector rod. The ones that were made from 1972 to 1986. They seem to be impossible to find online, and I am having trouble finding a solid price range for this specific model. Does anyone here know where or how to find them? Even just the best places or ways to look for one. Would also appreciate if someone would be able to share a decent idea of the value of this wheel gun. Thanks!
A local shop has a Colt Lawman MkIII snub nose .357 mag, unfired with original box for about $1200. They also have a Detective Special in .38 special for $700. Is the unfired Lawman really worth the extra $500 just for 357 rounds?
Iβm looking the get a snub nose revolver and these caught my eye. I know the short barrel wouldnβt allow all of the powder to burn with the magnum rounds, so itβs be louder and most likely more flash. Any input is appreciated.
Hi all. Seems this sub might be mostly dead, but I'll shout into the valley and see if I get any echo back.
I'm awaiting my c&r license, and keep seeing auctions for old colt double action revolvers. They seem to stay under 500 bucks on average! Is there some reason these are undesirable, or simply less popular and fail to fetch the prices that SAAs and other wheelguns do?
I am an avid revolver shooter and fan, I would love to pick up a few of these since they're relatively inexpensive. Should I be particularly wary?
Hello MD guns! Hope this is allowed, but I am currently on the search for a colt detective special. Not sure if anyone has come across any in their adventures around MD gun stores but any help would be greatly appreciated. Would rather support local business before going to online.
