Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the love for this movie at all? Hate to make a cheesy joke, but the danger in the movie isn’t clear or present.

The whole movie is just absurdly confusing, yet dull at the same time. I reallllly struggled to make it through in one sitting.

The villains make no sense and are completely uninteresting. I had no clue what anyone’s motive or goal was, nor did I care.

All of the actors are putting in 50% effort, but who could blame them with a screenplay like this? It lacks any personality or creativity.

Even the action scenes are pretty bland and unspecial.
I really don’t understand how anyone can say this was better than Patriot Games. Say what you will about that movie, at least it had a tangible villain and a few iconic moments.
I should clarify that I’m not a huge Jack Ryan fan, I’ve never read the books. Having said that, I loved Red October and Patriot Games was an okay flick. But Clear and Present Danger was at best a 3/10 for me, massive disappointment.
What are y’all’s thoughts on this one? Am I being too harsh, or does anyone agree?

I know a lot of us aren’t fans of CIA propaganda but I do like Harrison Ford and the Jack Ryan series, and this one takes place in Colombia (but apparently they filmed in Mexico City lol) and involves the Cali Cartel.
I am currently reading Clear and Present Danger. After living in Mobile (MO-beel) Alabama. I wanted people to know it's pronounced (MO-beel) not mobile (like a phone). Also he mentions "Old Sparky" in Admore Prison (correct name Atmore Prison or known as Holman Correctional Facility). The correct name for the electric in Atmore Prison is "yellow mama". "Old Sparky" was a electric chair used in several states and now stored in Kentucky.
Not that anyone here cares I just want to mention.
Dane is a shoo-in to the Incorrectly-Remembering-and-Reciting-Common-Terms Hall of Fame. His glowing résumé includes:
-Spent most of his life believing that the Ramone's song, "Blitzkrieg Bop," is called "Blitzkrieg Bob" and is about a person named Blitzkrieg Bob.
-Thought that that terrible "Like a G6" song was called "Like a Cheese Stick." Whatever happened to those guys? Shame.

-Quipped in reference to how Joey has always been the same guy that we know and love: "You can take the stripes off of a zebra, but you...can't...take Joey off of the zebra."
-Reassured me that we could still mount a comeback in an online game of NHL in which we had fallen behind early, by declaring that, "It's not a race. It's a marathon."
-Unwittingly combined the movie titles Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Zack and Miri Make a Porno into, "Nick and Norah's Infinite Porno."
