A list of puns related to "Cittern"
Hey folks, couldnβt see a cittern or Bazouki sub reddit so hope itβs ok to post here.
Iβve recently got a cittern and have it tuned DADAD. Mostly play Scottish and Irish trad on it but I was wondering what other tunings people use? DADAD is great for D but not so handy for other keys. I know some folk play DGDAD or CGDAE (as mandolin w/ low C). Any advice?
I'm a level 4 lore bard. I recently acquired a Mac-Fuirmidh Cittern, one of the fabled Instruments of the Bards. The cittern allows me to cast several spells, outside of my known spells, once per day.
Several of the cittern's spells, such as Fog Cloud, can ordinarily be cast at higher levels. The cittern says nothing about spell levels and my googling has yielded no answers.
Can I use the cittern to cast, for example, level 2 Fog Cloud? Why or why not?
Currently the party is searching an ancient underground human city to discover a piece of an ancient sword to slay the BBEG. I would like them to come across an old magic Cittern that's been warped in the 1,000 years it has been trapped underground in the heat. Basically, a magic cittern with a twist.
Ancient Cittern:
When using the Cittern to cast its innate magic it has a 35% chance of breaking 1d4 strings, breaking any number of strings causes the caster to roll once on the wild magic table. If all strings are broken the instrument is unusable. The Cittern has 8 strings. Each of the following spells can be used once per day and recharges at dawn. Fly, Invisibility, Levitate, Protection from Evil and Good, Barkskin, Cure wounds and Fog cloud.
The instrument may be restrung with a successful DC 16 Arcana or Int check provided new musical strings are available.
New musical strings can be purchased for 1 gp.
The instrument can be repaired by an enchanter or artificer but as a result it no longer breaks strings or rolls on the wild magic table.
Im new here but old on my instrument - I want to share something I believe you all would love. Maybe haha!! -stay safe!!
I'm still new to AL, so apologies if this is a basic question. I have a Lore Bard 3 / Hexblade Warlock 2 character and would like him to equip the Mac-Fuirmidh Cittern for extra spell utility early on and to make sure I don't acquire the included spells when levelling up later. Is there an AL-legal way to acquire and equip it before my first Tier 2 session?
If relevant, I've run 3 adventures so far, have something like 185 gold after buying some armor, used 20 downtime to "catch up" and jump from level 4 to 5. He currently has 1 magic item attuned (Headband of Intelligence because it was the first item I received) and 2 others unlocked but never used.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
