A list of puns related to "Christiane Amanpour"
Somehow Amanpour's interview with Carlos DomΓnguez (the Cuban diplomat in charge of US affairs), and holy hell, it was a hostile interview. Do we know if Amanpour has any tie to the DoS, because her attitude during the interview followed the DoS's statement to a T? The only link I can find is that her ex-husband Jamie Rubin is deep in the blob.
After a career built as an international correspondent and anchor, distinguished journalist Christiane Amanpour turns her attention to the shifting landscapes of intimacy, love, and pleasure in an increasingly complex world. In this six-part series, Amanpour travels to Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East to meet everyday individuals who are shaping the idea of modern love. How are roles changing for both men and women when it comes to sex, love, marriage, family and divorce? Whether single and dating in Accra, married and sexless in Tokyo, inspired by ancient erotica in Beirut, or transgender in Shanghai -- women and men are pushing the boundaries on sexual satisfaction, consent, and connection.

Her stagnant career and lack of success aside, what bugs me the most about Rory's career in AYITL is, that she completely lost her goal.
Yes, she's a journalist.
But teen Rory wanted to write about things that matter, politics, war (right from the trench) ...
And she ended up being closer to a meaningless lifestyle blogger. I mean ... an article on standing in lines? Who the hell would want to read that, no matter how witty or beautifully written it may be?
And when prompted about ideas and asked for a pitch, she has none. None. No mind of her own, no opinions about current events. Did she completly forget her idol?
What went wrong? It seems so out of place and out of character.
(rant end)
Hi all.
I was wondering if there were any people on here who would know how one would become an international correspondent as Rory wanted, and if the path she chose was a sensible one to get there?
I'm interested in including AYITL as well so discuss, or don't, as you like.
I'm doing a master's in international development and feel like Rory doesn't have the actual interest in international affairs, politics and economics that even I do. I think she wants to see the world and enjoys social criticism writing, but probably is more into movies, books and pop culture than reporting on world affairs. In the revival we see her reporting on socio-cultural pieces (queuing and Naomi Shropshire) rather than politico-economic ones.
I guess she left Yale with a good starter on the Obama campaign trail, with her college paper and internship experience, but she didn't report on the internship and surely every journalist worked on their college paper. I was wondering whether a small online blog about Obama's trail would have been a good enough job, or if she should've done a master's degree or a job/internship at a more established paper? What do you think she would do next?
Do you think Rory knew as she entered the world of work that she wasn't as interested in becoming an international correspondent and consciously chose the socio-cultural pieces, or do you think she was in denial and sabotaging her dream by choosing them?
